Looks like it'd be quite a fun drone for families to take on holiday, as it can be quickly deployed and then stuffed back in a bag. Plenty of features to play with and it's definitely a fair price for that amount of technology. Great review as always!

Since this is the first generation of this product, it's awesome to see a drone coming out at an affordable price point with a few kinks that need to get sorted, such as camera quality and the slight software quirks you mentioned. The second generation or pro version of this would be something I would definitely buy, as they will hopefully improve on some of these features. Awesome review.

I hope they add firmware support to DJI Goggle Integra and Motion 2. I don't want to have to buy new controller and goggles just to enjoy FPV on this drone. I ordered one anyway because it looks like a perfect addition to my professional camera bag.

I did order the Hover Air Pro Max because of Video quality, obstacle avoidance, and from what I'm seeing already, superior tracking in every way. Out of the box, the Neo is vastly cheaper and beats the Hover X1, but if you want all of the features of the Neo for FPV flying, you will need additional cash about another $100+ and as of this video the Goggles 3 which is $500, so now you are closer to $800-$900 and more expensive that the Hoverair Pro Skiing bundle which is insane IMO.
@scottgivens27 promax definitely beats it in all areas but the price bracket is nuts in my opinion. Hey. Great video. Just watching a few of these reviews for the Neo. I must say, in all of the videos that I have watched this far, the video resolution from the drone seems a bit poor. Obviously, for a drone of that size it is still great. I certainly agree with you that it is related to the sensor? Also were you shooting in 4k or 1080? Did you downscale the footage? @@TheDroneCreative just found this on the DJI website: Which remote controllers are compatible with DJI Neo? DJI RC 2, DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller, DJI RC-N2 Remote Controller, DJI RC Motion 3, and DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.
A nice review of the NEO. No BS, just informative information to have on a $199.00 AI controlled drone. The NEO has plenty of features but it would be nice to use a controller in various instances.
Totally agree on the foldable design of the X1. I owned the X1 and used it mainly for cycling. I ordered the Pro version because of 4K and higher follow speed. I do like the fact that the Neo can be used as a FPV though. Almost canceled the order due to that. What are your thought about new Hover models? Thanks for your review. Great work. I'm intrigued by this. Ruled out the Hover because it can't operate over water and I want to use it kayaking. This is half the cost, just barely at a price where I'd risk drowning it. I'm tempted to buy one, transfer its guts into a 3d-printed foldable case with floats, and see what happens.
Thanks for the great review. One thing you didn't mention is the range. How far can it fly before getting out of range when controlling it via the app or the controller?
When using the app only, I found after 20/30 meters I was getting signal drops outs. This is because when using the app it's a WiFi only signal. When using a controller it changes to O4 transmission so will be good up to 10 km.
Does it have a RTH function? like if it loses you while tracking and the drone is out over a cliff edge and you have no controller, will it return or simply just hover there until the battery runs out? then plummet down to the bottom of the cliff.

I never had a drone, just ordered one(no combo) today from Amazon Canada., if I ordered from DJI, I would have 8 dollars(cost me with taxes in Canada 278 Canadian dollars), waited more than 10 days and those DHL, FedEx, and UPS are nasty couriers and they go after for brokerage fee, but I see DJI collect Canadian taxes so that courier will not grab your money. One question I may have if it hasn't already been answered. On the Neo during tracking mode, If it's tracking you and someone or a group of people walk within the frame of the shot...will Neo start tracking them? I'd like to see a sample of flying near other people while it's only tracking you. If Possible.

In the DJI intro, looks like the NEO can take off from the kayak, can you test it over the water surface to see how well it could be? The main reason I preordered the x1 pro is the ability to fly over water/snow. I'm considering canceling the x1 pro and getting the neo instead, Thanks!
Don’t think so, I just got an update on my iPhone that just added support for the new Rc N3 controller and Rc 2 controller cuz the Neo uses ocusync 4 like those use but the Rc controller from the mini 3 uses the older ocusync 3 so it can’t be compatible
My biggest hold back for now is that for me it looks the images from it looks a bit noise and low quality, and looks a bit worst than a cellphone. Expected for this price point, but i am still in the fence. Everything else looks perfect ! There's also another factor for reviews. They usually mixes high quality 4K vlogging cameras with this drone footage, so the quality contrast may look bigger. Maybe a 4k downscaled to 1080 would help with the quality. I want to test it.
Cool video, well done! I see Neo cannot follow you from the side and move along with you.The Hover X1 can do this. Does it consider Home your real time position ,to return to automatically in case the battery dies out ?
Great video. Informative and concise. Regarding your problems with palm landing, I noticed that your palm was not actually visible, and as this is the only way it could recognise the command, I think it might be worth revisiting.
Excellent video - I recently purchased the hover air x 1 - this looks like a less costly drone. The hover air’s tracking is excellent, for example i can use it indoors and easily go up and down stairs. It is easy foldable

New products - The best channel to watch everytime! Everything about a product so well explained and helps me everytime! Once again thank you my friend!👌👊
Would you need to do a GEO Unlock request for this drone if you're just using the phone and no remote?
In the DJI intro, looks like the NEO can take off from the kayak, can you test it over the water surface to see how well it could be? The main reason I preordered the x1 pro is the ability to fly over water/snow. I'm considering canceling the x1 pro and getting the neo instead, Thanks!
Any chance its compatible with DJI RC controller for dji mini 3 pro?
Don’t think so, I just got an update on my iPhone that just added support for the new Rc N3 controller and Rc 2 controller cuz the Neo uses ocusync 4 like those use but the Rc controller from the mini 3 uses the older ocusync 3 so it can’t be compatible
@@bryanmiller476 i think ur on point. On the website they are saying that you can use RC on O3+ so i guessed that u can use it on O4 as well.
Can you only use voice recording with wifi?
Does it connect to DJI Nimo? I like the one-tap video creation!
Really fair and clear review of the product. Thanks
Excellent video - I recently purchased the hover air x 1 - this looks like a less costly drone. The hover air’s tracking is excellent, for example i can use it indoors and easily go up and down stairs. It is easy foldable
Can I download the footage from the drone directly to my smartphone?
Yeah you can! Using the QuickTransfer function!
@@TheDroneCreative thank you very much
Will you be able to change modes mid flight?
Yeah! Using the smartphone app you can change modes without landing it!
I have the hover air x1. Is this just as good or is it better
Smartphone vs rc, have a big difference? I want a basic one, but not sure if not using the rc.
What if theres multiple person running? Can it detect ‘you’ or it will follow somebody else?
