Can't lift your foot up? This FOOT DROP exercise will help you!

  • Do you struggle with foot drop? Do you have trouble performing exercises for foot drop?
    The problem with most foot drop exercises is that they require you to lift your foot unassisted. When living with Foot Drop - you probably can't do that very well!
    So, to help you reduce your foot drop we want to guide you through the steadypace® assisted dorsi flexion.
    In this exercise you can use a band or towel to lift your foot up - once it's their hold it for 4 seconds and slowly lower your foot down for 10 seconds.
    This ECCENTRIC exercise will help you strengthen the muscles around your foot so that you can improve your dorsi flexion and gain better mobility and control over your foot drop!
    Perform this exercise 2-3 times per week and write down your results using a progress journal.
    Remember to simply give your best effort!

      I give up I have tried so many things I've purchased all of Dr. Walz books and I've tried the whole diet thing but unfortunately I am still here living in pain 10 out of 10 pain for the last 10 years. It has been amazing.

    What if you have opposite of a foot drop like waliking on heel and can’t walk foot flat on ground ?Do you have a solution ?Thanks !

    I recently got my ankle twisted while while after 2 days i suffered a mild foot drop and hamstring injury could you please care to tell is it because of the ankle twist or hamstring injury... ? I wanna ask is it because of my hamstring injury ?? If my hnstring muscle starts working normally,would i be able to like the foot on dorsiflexion? Please let me know

    Can you get foot drop from having a L5 S1 disc herniation that pushes on the s1 nerve? i cant tip toe on my left foot, my calf is a little sore but seems bigger than my right. I have been doing exercises to gain that strength back but havent been able to.

    I strained my ankle really bad today to the point where I am hopping around the house with 1 foot and I was putting ice and had my foot at a higher elevation like on a pillow which I heard is good for strained ankles and keep in my mind the whole day today my muscles felt weak where I didn’t have the strength to lift my leg up to even put shorts or pants on and when I had my ankle on the pillow I couldn’t lift it up and when I did my entire foot was like paralyzed and I couldn’t move my toes at all for about 10-15 second and it was actually really scary.U think it could be footdrop?

    I can't lift my toe even while I am sitting let alone walking. That's why my walking pattern looks like Toe First walking. I can't even do heel walking. Will this exercise help me to solve the above issue?

    I have found that the back of my calf muscle gets really tight so I will use a walking L shape cane to use the handle on the bottom of my foot just under my toes so that I can stretch the calf muscle so I can lift my toes higher. This takes several weeks to get the calf muscle to loosen enough so that the exercise you are showing us will work even better.

    Why does it happen, like what are the causes? From yesterday afternoon, I am unable to lift my right foot. My whole right side is like that feeling when you sit in the toilet for long and you feel that tingling.
