As a 40 year old moron vet rider. I walk the track for about 30 minutes in the morning throwing rocks off the track. It helps me with stretching and getting my body to start moving plus what ping said

Funny this is pretty much exactly what I do. First few laps standing up only, and definitely rolling all the jumps the first lap. Learned the hard way a while ago when I was about 75% done with my first lap and the track was the same so I assumed the rest would be. Went for it off a decent table only to find out they shortened it by maybe 20feet. Bad OJ and went down. Luckily no injuries. Now I always do at least one full sight lap, no exceptions.

Did my ankle not respecting the first lap ten years ago, they changed the section from a triple to a double double and went over the bars oj’ing the first one. Solid advice as always Ping🤙

Well, I am not afraid to look like a moron in pit warming myself and the bike, for benefit of not getting hurt... Also for me, 3-4 slow laps 20% speed is a must, even between motos.

I have issues with ruts. When most people seem to not even pay attention to them, I'm always worried about them. Is that normal, how do I handle them?

Learn the technique (plenry of videos on posture, throttle, brake ect) but the main thing is speed and confidence. Youre gunna fall a few times but everyone does just keep hitting them. Thats where you make up or lose most of your speed.

Sounds like it could be your suspension set-up...you would have to be more specific for your riding coach, but a riding coach helps tremendously if you do not have one - riding different disciplines helps, as well!!! My coach is an older AMA Pro here in WA state, and him and his wife both are certified off-road motorcycle coaches through the AMA, I believe, since that is where he holds his pro license. Plus practice learning sessions in a school keeps you limber and in decent riding shape, so go ride at a local MX/Enduro school if you can!!! 💪It has made my riding life much more enjoyable!

Been hearing about this for a while now! Just got back into riding not to long ago so next time I go to the track I’m just going to dedicate that practice to this technique. My form on the bike is so sloppy still 😂😂

One thing I learned as I recently started going to the track more is that people are way too into what people think and trying way too hard not to look like an idiot. No one cares.

Maybe stand for 2 laps during practice. You could jump into the last practice as well before the races start, since they are usually only 10 minutes. Just an idea!

Geez guys just stretch and stop worrying what others think. Motocrossers can be so vain and prissy...Enduro guys don't care, that's why you can spot us naked changing our clothes at the trail head lol.
