The 2024 Fantic XX125 is only available to the European market and somehow Pasha Afshar and Nick Mairose were able to secretly import this bike from overseas. This two-stroke is built off of the 2024 Yamaha YZ125, only it has a few unique mods. Inside the engine the piston is different, the cylinder head has some mods, and the subframe is different with a completely different airbox that uses an older-style KTM Twin Air filter. It has a different fuel tank and plastics from the Yamaha. It also comes with an Arrow pipe and silencer and a GET ECU with two map options. In this video, MXA's Josh Mosiman compares the XX125 Fantic to the Yamaha YZ125 at Glen Helen Raceway.

The three rules of two strokes.
1. Never put music over the sweet sound of a two stroke.
2. Never dub over four stroke sound with two stroke sound and allow for unlimited upshifts like was done in Terminator 2. th-cam.com/video/BywwmYB4x9A/w-d-xo.html
3. The phrase "Two-Stroke Ban" is never to be written except in these rules.
4: always dub some thrash metal over electric bikes. Better still don't show them.
I miss my former Yamaha 2 stroke 1993 YZ 250, which is where Yamaha gets the looks from, for their 2024 YZ Lineup from.
True true & true
Wasn't that an xr200?
And NEVER make a negative comment about two strokes, unless you have ridden multiple versions for over 10 years. Otherwise just shut up. Thank you in advance.
The sound of a 2 stroke will NEVER get old!!! ❤️❤️
125 two stroke, the most fun you can have with your pants on !
A-men brother! I use to crush the 125 Elsinore class ( the only competitive 125 in the Marty Smith era) a 20 HP. Feather!
U guys ride with. Pants.. u learn something new everyday.
500 two-stroke. Most fun I've ever had on anykind of motorcycle.
I love the lightweight of a one two but also love the lazy 450 as a 36 year old injured fat boy 😂
@@joski9030 lol i hear ya.. im 37 245 lbs... but i still think im 25..
Hi, I’m from Barcelona, and recently I purchased the Fantic XE 125 2023 to ride enduro with my son, and we/he are/is very happy with it, it runs fantastic, has a lot of power all of the power curve, and it feels very light and easy to handle. I think Fantic has done a fantastic job, “endurising” (sorry for the invented word) a YZ 125. Congrats for your fantastic reports. Best regard from Europe. Albert Duran.
Sounds like a groovy ride😎🤓🤙
Sounds like you and your son are going to make some great memories. :)
im 53 and luv riding my 2021 yz125
What’s your weight? I’m curious bc I’m 230 minus gear so curious if it’s got the power for me - and I ride fairly hard for a 50+. Thx
Thanks. That may not be a bad thing. I’ve accepted that I don’t bounce off trees as well as I used to.
I feel u I’m 48 and I love my 03yz125
@@kne2323 I am 69 and have a 17 YZ 125 to ride MX. Sorry but I feel over 170 would take away most of the fun. BTW I am 155.
@@kne2323125 has plenty of power. Just gotta make the engine sing. I’m 250 and rode my buddy’s yz125 and now can’t wait to buy one.
if you are going to import a fantic, import the xe300.. that is the most unique of the platform sharing. the enduro guys be droolin over
It's refreshing to see someone that KNOWS how to ride a 125! Good job!
WFO?
is it just me or did others see Josh ride the Fantic faster and more free and radical? 🤷🏽♂️
(could just be the edit)
Well,---it is a fast 4-stroke track. It is like racing a go-kart on an Indy course.
As always a fun and insightful review from Josh - good stuff! Now we need Pasha to bring over the e-start Fantic/YZ300 Enduro bike!!!
Take my money I would buy one today! Until it comes, if it ever does, I will keep riding Orange…
Their is a US Fantic importer and they show the XEF300 as being available!!!
@@freddunbarName?
The title had me thinking that 2 strokes were banned to be ridden in the USA, which wouldn't have surprised me a bit.
These days? Yeah. Its like ban everything 🤬
California is working on it 😆. They have banned the sales of small engines for 2025. I know this because I was actually in California this last summer and found out straight from them.
I've also heard rv say all the motocross tracks are closing
It will happen soon. Hell they shut down all the trails i had to plate my wr250z just to hit "unmaintained or unmarked roads"
Then we shall all become outlaws.
I thought it was the attempt at a street legal 2 stroke some company was talking about trying (I forget the name).
Oh, TLDR- You might want to consider getting a KTM plated. It worked for my 300 2 stroke, just like any street bike...
I recently bought a '18 KTM 300 XC-W and got it plated in PA- I just walked into the auto tags shop with the paperwork and the vin came back as a KTM Motorcycle (not KTM dirtbike, or OHV, or whatever). And that was after one of the other employees said "Did you say KTM? You gotta be careful with those, they make dirtbikes, so make sure it says M.C. when you run the VIN" to the lady that was helping me. My local dealer swore to me for years that it could be done and customers did it all the time- riding them off the lot directly to tags, but I never believed it, until I tried it personally (why not try?).
I can't guarantee I didn't just get lucky, and I'm definitely not an expert on how any of that works, but that's what happened and I can't get over the fact that I have my #1 dream dual sport (Sickass Racing plug & play harness and lighting kit!)
Directly after that I did some research online and got a '04 450 EXC to try, and the exact same thing happened (same lady said the same thing about KTM making dirtbikes) but that one also came back MC (as I expected that time).
I had been trying different "dual sports" but none of them did it for me- too big, sluggish, and heavy (CRF-450L, XR-650, DR-650). After I sold my DRZ-400 I realized I needed a real dirtbike with a plate, but I wasn't willing to go through loopholes or Dirtlegal w/ Montana tags, which led me to KTM/ Gas Gas/ Husky. I wanted one of the 300cc+ KTM 2T's since I was 14 and it didn't disappoint when I finally got one.
I got the 450 in great shape with low miles/ hours (Starts with one kick after sitting for a week!) for literally half of what I paid & sold a '04 DRZ for (half the miles too) and it's an objectively better performer in EVERY aspect, so even if it blows up tomorrow I might say I already got my $$$ out of it.
That's my long winded way of trying to say "Try a KTM" and saving someone the headache I went through looking for a legal dirt bike. The older 450s can be found dirt cheap and seem to be extremely reliable if well maintained (ez valve adjustments!), and the 300 2 strokes aren't cheap, but they're as good as it gets, I'd say perfection!
Good luck🤟
At 2:37. When hes reving the 2 smoke. I had auto subtitles on and its comes up
That made my day.
It does it everytime the bike ride by! Haha. Even AI knows....
Music to my ears as well.
Great review...as always! Thanks Josh!
Keep making a riding 2 strokes. They are so much fun
So fun i had to get 2 of them no joke lol. 06 yz125 and 02rm 125 completely. Restored. So much fun 😊
"He secretly imported this bike to the US" proceeds to put it on the internet haha; thank you Pasah for your service
Gullible people , perfect mxa fans. Buy it and import it simpleton's . MXA misinformation , some people just love it , :)
Yamaha states u can’t sell “your” bike in USA. It’s not banned. It’s not banned from importing. It’s inconvenient and expensive. And u can’t title it here, likely.
@@duramaxdadwouldn't that mean that if someone wants one they'll have to either buy one in Europe and Import it or wait 25 years before they allow the bike in the US?
@@kriswhite9324 You saw the bike in USA right?
@@duramaxdad not in person no but i know there are laws in the US regarding to cars that if it isn't 25 years or older than it cant even be legally important due to not meeting safety standards (unless theres an exemption made that said vehicle is classed as a "technological significant" or something to a similar name for it to hit US soil. :)
Badass you got to test this bike 🤙🏻
Wow. That YZ looks stunning!
One industries is making a comeback??! That's awesome
The XE300 2T has no competing Yamaha model and Yamaha could import it as their own!!
Sounds cheap. Ah ha.
Fantic looks better than Yamaha YZ125.
It's looks newer!
Ginger or Mary Ann ? 😂
It uses Yamahas platform 😂
Bold New Graphic
It's really cool to see all these new bikes being built and tested against all the other mainstream big names brands
That fantic sounds amazing. 😮. So crisp.
Man! I miss that sound at the track. On the pipe. Sweet! And the smell of premix. Time to go out and ride my 2000 CR250.😁❤
Hell yea thanks to pasha. I thought i was never gonna be able to see a test on a fantic. Really like these bikes. Wish there was a dealer in the U.S.
Yamaha. Lol. Import it and pay extra I guess for the fantic insignia
Wow, it sounds Soo crisp and when revving has an extremely sharp buzz without so much as one miss !!! Incredible !
Growing up my brother and a couple other guys within our area all had Fantic trial bikes!
It was a foresty mountain area, and everybody was constantly trial riding!
The bikes were super quiet (exhaust backpressure) and consumed near to no fuel!
When they accidentally rolled down a whole mountain, you just bent out the shocks, replaced a handlebar and good.
Theoretically you can always import one yourself.
Best wishes
Or buy an imported one? Perhaps.
@@duramaxdad Sure, but I actually meant the bike they were testing.
You can actually fairly easily import anything you want.
Best wishes
@@asc23channel Nice. Thats good info. I’d imagine it’s an expensive way to get a European bike in US. But it is possible. Thats your point. Thanks for sharing.
My 14 yo son wants a 2024 ktm 125 so he’s sharing vids and educating his old man. Electric start fuel injected 2 stroke. Mind blown. $7,700 out the door rn.
@@duramaxdad You’re welcome!
Yes indeed, importing it does raise the cost, so I personally only recommend it if the product is absolutely not available AND you absolutely want exactly that one.
Lol…yeah, technology AND prices have advanced! But to be honest, kickstarting a hot carbureted bike in some rough terrain is not the best way to spend time. lol
I’m sure he will have a lot of fun with the KTM!
Best wishes
What do you guys do to get the audio so crisp? Sounds fantastic
What is the best 125?fantic/ yamaha carburator or ktm husqvarna iniection?
fantic is doing some serious 2Stroke R&D for Yamaha here in europe, you should test the xx250, this is a "better" or "newer" version of a YZ250
I started with the YZ 125, I've had several, but the Fantic xx drives me crazy, I'll buy it
Curious what was the jetting on the two bikes?? Same?
My very first bike, back in 1978, was a Fantic Super T. Officially a moped, it was a 50cc mental case. Crude as heck but amazingly fast compared to all of the Japanese peds, with a 60mph top speed (on the flat) measured by a friend in a car following me. I couldn't tell myself as I had neither speedo nor tacho!
Ignition mapped for european fuel? Also jetting different i suspect.
Let’s start with: what’s the difference with European fuel? Besides liters vs gallons. And taxes.
@@duramaxdad euro fuel is gluten free and no gmo's lol
@@duramaxdad different octane ratings and qualitys
could buy a fantic subframe, tank, plastics and seat then you have a fantic.
subframe is the same as the yz125/250 2002-2021
Own a 22 xx 250 I bought brand new last year, owned many bikes, ktm 250 2's yzf250s 125s etc, the xx250 is by far my favourite.
Powerband in Map 1 compared to an old RM or YZ250 is much smoother, hits hard but controllable, very similar feeling to the KTM 250's (comparing it to a 19 I get to ride regularly).
Suspension, KYB you can't go wrong, always been a fan of it and only had to make minor adjustments from stock settings after setting sag.
Arrows pipe sounds awesome and is surprisingly quiet, bike also doesn't vibrate much considering there's no counter balance, comparing to a 19 250sx vibration isn't much more and you don't notice it, unlike the old 250 ktm smokers, I had an '11 at the time for a few years and that thing made my hands go numb after 3 laps.
Main thing I noticed coming back to a 2 stroke from the 4 was how light it felt (obivous I know!) but in the corners it's really confidence inspiring compared to the YZF's, it just gets in a rut and wants to stay there.
Only issue I had was a little bit of setup, some front washing that was fixed with 1 or 2 clicks of compression and some light bucking into the corners, but nothing a bit of setup didn't fix. In my case going a little stiffer on comp and a little high speed change.
One of my first bikes was a DT125 that was built to a 175. It was the one bike that made me admire Yamaha as a 2 stroke master. Yes back then you could ride legally a 2 stroke on the street. So fun.
U can ride legally on the street now w a 2 stroke. Granted u need insurance, plates, blinkers and a light.
@@duramaxdad I did back then too. Completely legal 2 stroke Enduro.
0:50 i learned to ride on the fantic 125cc trials bike. it was an excellent bike.
❤ the sound of that two stroke power ban
the sound and smell of a 125 is beautiful, i think they even sound better than a 250 2s. One industries used to make the dopest graphics kits
Fantics are awesome! Tried and true Yamaha tech with touch of Italians. Really looking to get that 125 XE enduro bike. U can get it registered streetlegal here in Finland.👍
The more i listen to it the more i convince myself that mosquitos are just tiny 2 strokes with wings
That Fantic looks great!
i drive the xe 125 (the enduro version) in enduro races and i have to say it is a absolutely fun bike and for technical things very useful
It’s always nice to learn about brands that are not mainstream in American markets.
Great job on video
This makes me want a yz125. Miss my 06.
Ive seen a few in the bush up here in BC Canada. Havent looked into them too much but I believe you may be able to get them up here and then bring them down across the line to the states.
Looked faster on the Fantic😊
Surron dolly shots were siiiiick! 👌
The new yz125s look so retro 🤤❤️
Extra pep in that boys step on this episode.
Only clicked for the One industries gear, got me pretty pumped
Fantic have just released the XEF 310 enduro bike which is based on the yzf 250 engine & chassis platform. I’m waiting for someone to do a yzf 310 mx build. It would be the bike we’ve all been waiting for!
Pasha imported the bike like you'd import any other motorcycle, it's not some secret. The only reason it's "banned" in the states is because of the platform sharing agreement between fantic and Yamaha. Nothing stopping imports.
This deal is likely just a way for Yamaha to make more money in a region that's not their primary market, and it's obviously a win for fantic.
Ahhh, mitica Fantic!!! Greetings from Italy!
Once again great video Josh. Now test the redmoto 400rx Or put there 400 kit on a 450r and test just it I’m interested in how it calms down a 450
Got a 2001 Kawasaki 2 stroke enduro, love the sound, long live the 2 stroke! 💚
Just in case you missed it, it’s NOT available in the US! 😅 Great review, thank you!
Yamaha and Fantic are top! In the world fastest 125cc series all last years champions are Yam of Fantic. First round this year. Very demanding and difficult sand track in Italy, Riola Sardo.
Top five
1. Zanocz, Noel, Fantic
2. Doensen, Gyan KTM
3. Faure, Mano Yamaha.
4 Heitink, Dani Yamaha
5. Van Mechgelen, Douwe Fantic.
I've always believed being fast on a 125 developed skills better than on a 250. Being less forgiving you always had to be on your game. Most fun also being so maneuverable. Love racing 125 vs 250 on a tight circuit.
Fantics do actually look awesome. W Italy, forgot they also have TM as well
When do the 500cc models come out 🏍🇦🇺😎👍🏼
Basically a yam with a race piston pipe and napping, my mate has the 250 it’s an absolute beast… when it’s working 😅
They do a 310 4 stroke too which is mint based of the yam 250
Nothing sounds as good as a 2 stroke.
well i love frantic great quality there trials bikes here in UK werre great back in the day and the scooters i suppose they got a lot to live upto in the mx market the enduro version bike i would love to ride
There’s been some 250cc or 300cc models at Motocross of National at RedBud

Nice work
Fast 4-stroke tracks. You really don't need the clutch much when every corner is fast and wide open.
Nice riding gear.
I’m from the UK where there’s loads of these about. I agree with you, they aren’t as good as the YZ to ride, The fantic looks nice though

That is the one with a carburetor, the ones sold in Europe are with Injection.
In the future, are we gonna see some upgrades on that bike?😮
Is this available in the US?
Is it available in the US?
the YZ sounded like it was revving higher air box makes sense to be a restricting factor, restrictors on 2 stroke bikes are common in euro and other foreign markets Vs the US market.
would want to see review of the bigger bikes from fantic
the Yakuza has been hired to reclaim the bike at glen helen
Just ran weedeater on yard, with high octane pre mix.
Watching this ,still covered in fumes ❤😂
Notice as he removed the air filter the grease wasn't squished evenly, meaning the filter wasn't sealing evenly all the way around.
Air filter is the most important maintenance on a Dirt bike and most sloppily done.... i raced 15 years and learned quickly to do it correctly...it saves your engine from wear and tear.... when you pay for repairs yourself you invest in knowledge and take the time to do things correctly....
🇨🇦🤓🤟
Just say no to grease. Never have, never will.
was the grease applied evenly ? just sayin
Is it a frame to frame swap?
Yeah it’s the same frame, I own a XE125 and have YZ plastics onnit , needed a different seat and tank 👍🏼
🐝🏁 Great video 👍
You pictured a YZ250 🤔😳😉😉😉😉(in the background)
My first bike was a frantic, I wish I could get one now that I moved to the US
Anybody know if this bike is available in the US?
It's not hard to import... From there to here is easy. You just contact your dealer and you contact a freight company. They'll literally hand it off to your freight company. I was at to buy the European fuel injected Husqvarna 300 and then I began hearing some horror stories. I passed on it. Since I have Houston, I was set for shipping to Houston for $300 and the bright side is that you're not paying any taxes! So, you're only paying shipping. Just over one week was my time frame from the UK.
I had it nailed down in one a couple of hours and that was being lazy about it too!
My entire reason for it was a loophole to cross streets bring that the bike is street legal over there and street legal in Texas is just as simple when you import a foreign bike.
Do they make a 250 also.
I got a buddy who has a fantic 2 stroke trials bike in the US
I believe this video is all about preference.
Sure would be nice if some enterprising guy was to import the parts required to turn a YZ250X into a fantic x300 with e-start, I'll pre-order, please, take my money. Maybe import entire engines with electronics packages, ready to install.
Got that Italian gabagool barkin ✊🏻

Not allowing US sales, and also not updating your outdated 2 strokes is actually insane. They know everyone would buy these instead.
