    Reminds me of doing the figure 8 drill with long ruts! Great practice and very humbling!

    keeping your inside knee tucked up tight against the shroud and your toe pointed inwards really helps keep you balanced in the rut

    My struggle is trusting the sidewall of the ruts, and berms. I can’t shake the feeling that the dirt is going to collapse just as *I* ride over it. It’s irrational. I know. But I’m getting better.

    • @josephgillam9185
      @josephgillam9185 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keeps the front wheel planted better, more stable when small amount of pressure is kept on it

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a good tip, but it's also a pretty advanced move. I would tell most riders to focus on the tips in this video first and then try that technique. But yes, this can help keep the front stuck to the ground better, but it is also an easy way to mess up the turn if not done correctly. - Chase

    eyes up and patience is definitely the best way to remove bad habits, it feels slow as hell at first but once you practice it gets quicker and easier

    Please one about deep ruts on jump faces

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're working on something for this! But it takes the right jump face to film it. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of sandy tracks out here which usually have jump faces with deep ruts. But if we get to a track that has them, we will for sure film one! - Chase

    Select a better rut for next lap using your peripheral vision with the other riders as indicators. Fitting a series of rut selections whilst brapping your way to slay your rutted presence can keep you busy.
    Anyone still brapping through the outside of corners?

    Why does my front wheel keep washing out??

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are several things that could be causing that to happen, it could your technique or bike setup. If you're too far back sitting down or standing up, you may not have enough weight on the front which can cause it to wash. If your technique is good, check your sag and make sure you're in the ballpark of what the OEM recommends. You can try raising your forks 2-5mm if your triple clamps to get more weight on the front, and you can also try slowing down your rebound or softening your compression clickers on your forks. Important thing is to only change one thing at a time so you know what actually improves it. Lastly, make sure you have a good front tire on there and running the right PSI. - Chase

    These guys absolutely rip. I highly recommend the RMX Academy. There is no better value for what you get and the track is prepped deep and challenging preparing you for real race conditions. Can’t say enough good about Riley and McCoy.

    • @rmatvmc

      These same tips will helpful on a 2-Stroke as well. Just keep in mind the differences between the engines, you will have less engine braking which means you might need to get on the brake a little harder or earlier depending on your skill level. Keep mixing that gas! -Nick -KX 250 2 Stroke-
