Great video. The variety has noticeably gone down at Blackfriars but atleast the 700 are better for the commuters sake of travelling loads of people at once and upgrading capacity
This station used to be open air, now enclosed. Went to Brighton in July 1999 and eighteen years later to Bedford from London Blackfriars. Every Class 700 train has replaced the 319s and the trains currently owned by Southern and Southeastern. If my memory serves me right, Blackfriars had five or six platforms but after the renovation has two through and two terminating.
It’s a shame really, the 319s had a lot of character and the original station (whilst less accessible) was much more open like you said. Thanks Uhegbu 😃
Another winner from you! Interesting how even in just four years the stock has really evolved. The 700’s have really grown on me since I moved to SELondon.
Thanks Trains on the Brain! I'm really happy with how this turned out. I had originally planned to just put the 2020 content in the video, but it felt emotionless, so I threw a few un-used clips from 2016 and gave it some life. Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Thanks Nathan, this is a new idea I’m trying out. Blackfriars only has 700s now but I thought it was a good opportunity to use some older footage as well.
Thanks Ali, I don’t recognise your name from any of my other videos but I’m glad your here 😃 I love the contrast between the two, things on this route have changed a lot!
I miss it too! In the last few months/years, I spent a lot of time at thameslink stations: St Pancras, Farringdon, London Bridge etc. The 319s really added a lot to this line.. all gone now :(
I know that Class 700s are the best trains but with the worst uncomfortable seats. But I much preferred the Class 377/5 and Class 387/1 when they were used on Thameslink before they were replaced by the Class 700s. Could Thameslink inherit the Class 387/3s from c2c to work alongside the Class 700s. When the Class 720/6s have entered service next year. Which the Class 387/3s could be used on Cambridge North/Cambridge/Luton and/or St. Albans City-Horsham, Littlehampton, Eastbourne and Lewis services. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_387 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_700
Plus why not do the Class 717 on the Moorgate Line that replace the Class 313 that are working on Moorgate-Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, Enfield Chase and Hertford North. Including at Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_717
Hello there how are you Can i ask what app do you use to edit your vids and what do you use to make your intros A brilliant video from you as always Ill see you on your next one
Hello Trainspotter 222, I edit my videos with Powerdirector. My intro and outro was made with Adobe After Effects. Thanks for your kind comments :) I'm glad you’re here!
Hey Raheem, It’s something I have always put in my videos and feel that it adds a lot to the video. Along the way I’ve become a custodian for informative railway videos and I’ve just continued it ever since 😃
It used to be White livery and First Capital Connect 319s, First Capital Connect livery, White livery and Ex-Southern/Ex-GatwickExpress 377s and 387s, now it's just those 8 and 12 car 700s with the boring white livery. And a Great Northern like name thing and now it's just Thameslink/ why have you done this Thameslink? WHY? Edit1: I blame it on Govia Thameslink Railway company (Owner of Thameslink, SouthEastern and Great Northern, no wonder sometimes one of the railways share tracks with another on of these) Edit 2: Changed name of Edit to Edit 1, Added FCC to 319s
I’ve passed through here but never got on or off. Nice station above the Thames
Great video. The variety has noticeably gone down at Blackfriars but atleast the 700 are better for the commuters sake of travelling loads of people at once and upgrading capacity
Loved it when it was just 319s,377s and 387s only
I think a lot of people (myself included) did but it was always going to end up as one huge fleet because of the different types and routes.

So much variety back then compared to what we have now
I like the idea of past and present.

@@StarlifeStudios past to present is a great idea
I was in so much anticipation when this got posted up. Now seeing it, it’s exciting and truly amazing. Thanks 🤩
It was my pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I always appreciate your kind comments Duaine and I'm happy to see you are still watching :)
Shame you don’t get the variety you did back in the day. Nice video 👌
Another great railway video. Haven't travelled on the Thameslink as much, but the class 700 is nice to travel in.

Great video! 😃 I’ve been there before!
i miss the purple livery
I like the past and present trians
Thanks Martin, this station is very boring today so thought I’d use some older footage to make it a little more entertaining for you 😃
My goodness I really miss my 319s
So do I! They sounded so good although I’m told they were a bit of a poor match for commuters.
@@StarlifeStudios again though the 700s have ironing board seats lol
@@LordEverythingtrains you got that right, the 319s in AC power a mm mm mmmm, but most of them got converted to 769s and 799s.
@@EBuses yeah. At least the 700s are more advanced than the 319s

Really nice video
Thank You Eden, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
It's a good video
i missed it when they used other liveries for thamslink
Hello there how are you

Hello Trainspotter 222, I edit my videos with Powerdirector. My intro and outro was made with Adobe After Effects.
Thanks for your kind comments :) I'm glad you’re here!
that’s a great video but how much do ThamesLink couples by southeastern
How come so many of the past trains were late?
My notes from 2016 tell me that there was an 'operational incident' which blocked the line. Ironically, it was a Class 700!
What music did you use for the ending screen, also nice video.
Hello, the Music (start and end) was made specifically for me by a friend of mine. I hope you like them 😃
New video ??
Thank You! 😀 ❤️
Do charlton or london waterloo next
He Already did waterloo
@@tomwells4750 I meant Waterloo east

2:18 why is that thameslink train red
Its using Gatwick Express Coaches.

Jeez thameslink has pretty bad service in 2016
I miss the old Thames link trains even tho it’s been 7 years, 319s and 377s were fun
700s are very generic in my opinion
great video
