75k mile Tacoma Maintenance! Part 1

- In this #shorts, I complete maintenance items on my Toyota Tacoma! It just hit 75,000 miles on it--barely breaking it in... so proper and routine maintenance will allow it to go way beyond that!

Hold the box of engine oil sideways. As you start to tip the box, keep the spout slightly higher. You'll notice the glug glug of the fluid doesn't happen. Nice easy pour. Very controlled. 👍
Its great to see the younger generations enjoying vehicles and doing things themselves.
Someone taught her.
A lot of people don't have teachers for a lot of aspects of life.
@@cruzinthruspacethat’s no excuse to be lazy. Information is free everywhere today. Especially on this platform
@Braggdad212 agreed i was taught at early age but every car is kind of different and youtube has instructions for most cars.
Chloe love your maintenance videos
Looking forward to part 2 😊
I think you might be overnighting your oil filter. ♥️🌮🐕🐾
Can we please not teach people that it's okay to use a wrench when tightening an oil filter..... It's more than enough when you snug it on by hand.... Other than that, nice job👍
Guess you’ve never changed the oil on a Toyota/Lexus. They have a housing for the filter that has a torque setting. These aren’t throw away screw-on filters.
@@damon323 Plenty enough times to say you're intentionally missing the point, i wasnt referring to the separately housed filters like audi, bmw, toyota, etx uses, also 17 newtons is pretty much hand tight....
How am I intentionally “missing the point” when your exact words are “can we not teach people it’s okay to use a wrench when tightening oil filters”😂😂
Good luck tightening an internal filter by hand especially these stupid filters. But she definitely has it over tightened.
@@mikefromnebraska Don't know what to tell you, never used anything but my hands to tighten the filters. Even the one i have in my Audi, the one that is specified to be tightened to 17n, that also happens to be an internal filter.....
The screw on funnels are the best!! Never spill!!
You should upgrade to the metal oil filter housing your next oil change. Part# 15620-31060
Agreed. The original plastic housing is prone to cracking.
Tried to teach my daughter how to maintain her vehicle but she would rather rely on a man . Thank you for showing others how to be independent. 👍
Got that polyaspartic flooring!! 😎😎
My 09 🌮 will be due for 200,000 mile maintenance within in a year!
Awesome job. Team oil drop has a great maintenance tracking poster for this, just fyi for you or anyone else that wants to know.
Look at that Tacoma with a cat shield installed!
You don’t need to over tighten the canister. Just get it snug and you’re good to go. Make sure you tube up that gasket as well so it doesn’t get stuck again
Walmart sells a huge, red, Hyper Tough brand funnel you can't miss when you pour. Only $6
Great job keep up the good work love seeing your content and also a little tip for pulling the oil turn it sideways
Yea but can you cook?
If u tip the can sideways, it will pour easily without the backflow on the bottle, so just a tip trun, the oil bottle sideways the pour the oil in it changes everything
Those boxed oils don't glug like plastic does
Yeah it a bag in the box so it just deforms
Under no circumstances should the oil filter 'ever' be that tight.
18ft lbs
Those oil bags are nice. Ive used them a couple times.
The torque applied to that pug and filter. Keep it up and they’ll be stripped out and then you’ll really be relying on the front tire
Within 5,000 mi of my TRD off-road manual transmission being 🆕 I did the front diff, rear diff gl-5 & transmission gl-4 with amsoil & used a red line MT-LV in the transfer case.. OTT tune & AFE dry flow air filter
Get yourself some ramps, makes it a whole lot easier to get under your vehicle.
theres absolutely no reason for either plug or oil filter to be that tight, lmao..
Get a moving blanket from Harbor Freight to lay on. Less than $10
Filters are typically hand tighten ONLY
Toyota has a torque spec for that. I'm surprised that the people here commenting didn't notice that she uses a torque wrench
Your filter shouldn’t be that tight, the housing is aluminum and there’s an o-ring to seal it, tighten with a 9” or so ratchet until it stops then give it a bump with the meat of your palm.
Toyota recommends Mobile 1 FYI.
Too much torque for the oil filter housing. 1/2 drive is over kill. 3/8 should be used.
There's a plate on the bottom of the oil canister which is removed to drain the oil before unscrewing it to replace the filter. The key on that plate is a 1/2 in drive, so its necessary for that step. Otherwise, there's a torque spec for tightening the canister and drain plugs, and Chloe follows all the manufacturer recommended torque specs. She's not doing anything here that isn't by the book.
Got 222000 on my ford never changed mine 🎉🎉
❤❤❤❤❤
Question! Where you put/dispose of all the old fluid? I want to start maintenance but don’t know where/what to do with it 😅
❤
Hey Chloe, what kind of oil are you using ?
Anyone else having problems taking out that oil filter housing? I always snug tight mine and never use wrenches. But when ever i need to take it out for oil change its so tight to get it out.lol
Diffs are every 30k
Why do the filters get so tight? I reversed torqued mine and it was over a 100ft/lbs from the dealer.
Switch how you fill the oil. Make sure the filler is on top of the box and not at the bottom as to not have air bubbles in the oil and spill.
Uh, I change my diff fluid every 20k miles.
The Tacomas Maintenance book asks for 6.2 qts, I see you just added 6qts, would not adding the .2qts do anything bad to engine?
Depends on what your oil measures to on the dip stick when you're done, and after you run it for a bit. naturally there's going to be residual oil still throughout the engine, every ounce isn't going to drain out. In this case that's just under 1/4 of a quart that isn't put in. So as long as it's between your low and high marks on the dipstick you're golden, I like to keep mine in the middle or slightly closer to the high mark.
@@august9568 thanks.
I can do this by myself?!
Chloe likes to use her luscious, thick hair to mop up all that expensive oil she poured on the floor, and it makes for a great conditioner.
Is this really shown in the maintenance book, or is this just a moneymaker for the dealer?
one more thing cuz everyone has mentioned the pouring but to avoid using the tool to install your oil filter. Tightening it by hand as hard as you can will be enough. If you can't reach it at least screw on the filter without the ratchet wrench first till it's tight and give it about 3/8 of a turn or less to snug it in.
Why is the oil in a box?
For stacking... there's a bag inside.
its awesome, comes in 6qts instead of the 5
Havoline? Yeck
You should upgrade to 10w40 synthetic oil. 0w20 is too light duty.
It's the only manufacturer recommended oil, very light for a truck I know, but supposedly Toyota engines are intended to be so tight on the clearance that thicker oil will cause too much strain and damage.
Dig the vans 😊
Wait, do you not have to remove the skid plate in order to change the engine oil?
Not on hers, she has the fancy access panel. I have to remove mine 😂
Oh wow, you can get to the filter without taking off the skid?
Ow-30 when should it be used
Where did you buy rear diff ?
You need to make sure the diffs and t- case vents are free.
What type of oil do you use for the front and rear differential?
So glad mine does not have that stupid cannister oil thingy.
❤️🔥
Havoline!! Noooooooo
Oil!! Noooooooo
