Wetting Driveways And Pavement With Photoshop

    A couple quick notes to add: First, some viewers have asked "why" do this, so for those unfamiliar, many realtors like wet driveways, especially for twilight shoots. Some realtors will, in fact, insist on wetting the pavement before you start shooting, something which I discourage (for reasons I mention in this video) so I offer this as an option; it's up to the client to decide. In any event, the idea is to be able to offer clients choices, which you can in turn offer as upsells. This leads me to the second point...
    Providing editing options (like this) to clients shows you are a one-stop shop. If you don't offer editing services like this one, faux twilights, sky swaps, object removal, etc., then clients may lean to a competitor who does, even if they never opt for this kind of edit. Showing you can provide versatile options is a win for clients since they can feel comfortable knowing you can handle anything that may come down the road.
    Third, for those thinking this doesn't look realistic, I think you're looking too hard :) Ask a realtor what they think and, from my experience, you would get a positive reaction. Since these people pay the bills, it's good to provide them what they want. If you're a purist who disagrees, then I wish you the best of luck making money in this industry ;)

    I took a very unremarkable photo from my visit to Rome and turned it into something much more interesting by using this technique. Brilliant! Thanks Nathan.

    If only you could come up here to the Pacific Northwest and figure out a technique on how to dry things off in PS! All kidding aside, great video Nathan, I find this especially useful for more impactful twilight or faux twilight shots.

    Hey Nathan, I ve got a question. First of all I am a real estate photographer in luxembourg and I've been struggling how to edit my exterior shots on a rainy day. How can I make wet grounds dry ?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I use rain to my advantage by doing a day-to-dusk conversion on overcast, rainy days. It's the only time I tend to do this type of edit, but I show how to do that in another video at th-cam.com/video/h0WfzrAGs3U/w-d-xo.html

    Nathan, do you know how real estate photographers get that wet glossy look to their images? Is it plastic wrap in photoshop? Feel free to direct me to your other content if you have a tutorial, I'm willing to pay money to learn the technique.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm...I think this video shows that. Not sure what you're asking.

    • @nooch8692
      @nooch8692 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NathanCoolPhoto What I am after is a slight glossy/wet look applied to the entire image.
