    👇Be Careful! This Could Change Your Business! (Watch & Listen Now!) 🚗
    This video is Part 2 of this video: "You NEED To Polish Before Applying A CERAMIC COATING? (Trick Question!)" 🎬 ✅ • ⚠️Don't Polish Your Ca...
    This subject causes a LOT of debate among detailers. However, those who dogmatically demand that a "TRUE PROFESSIONAL DETAILER" should ALWAYS polish before applying a ceramic coating FAIL to ask the most important questions. Each Detailing Business must make these decisions based on their customers. The only TWO things a TRUE Detailer should be concerned with, the RESULTS & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! Anyone else who says otherwise...should keep quiet and focus on your own business. Let the professionals handle their detailing business the way they see fit. Other Detailers DO NOT have the right to criticize other detailers.

    Absolutely agree that disaster details are not where the money is. They're hard work, they often take longer than expected, and many customers have unrealistic expectations about what can be achieved for the money spent. I'd much rather work on a car someone cares for.

    Absolutely you are speaking gospel! I “hate” TH-camrs as they really f up the market’s perspective of what the client really needs. Detailers often get a bad rep for pushing the polishing step > 50%. . I am a business and think that I do the best for myself, my family and finally my client.
    The fact that 5 gloss units shows a difference to a human eye means that polishing is not necessary since the cleaning in some cases gives that 5 units!! But the ceramic which is glass is giving the gloss is enough. I base my decision on what is the vehicle been used for and check the expectations of my client. And I always always use the triangle option to them. Time, Quality and Money.

    I blame you Phil ... because of this video (and part 1) I'm almost 100% going to order GTECHNIQ C1 CRYSTAL LACQUER, because you make it look SO EASY to use. My wife's car needs it the most, as it is outside 24/7 and now that I'm retired, it gets more use than my Camaro - which is garaged most of the time now.
    Both cars have a very solid 4-step, Turtle Wax combination that looks like it will easily last past the start of detailing weather here in Ohio, so most likely I WILL need to complete a light polishing step to make sure all the TWHS is removed, followed by a panel wipe.
    Thanks again for helping me spend money and spend even MORE time out in the garage 🤣🤣🤣

    Pro tip from one detailer to another. After the first pass drying I go around with compressed air and blow out all the seams (so you don’t have as much water dropping out). A leaf blower would also work.
    I also use compressed air to blowout the badges.
    Great content. Keep it ip

    I’m with you on the plush towels. Quite a few will say you should use a plush towel as your 2nd towel for coatings. I’ve used a pearl for leveling and an Autofiber Mr. Everything for the 2nd buff with a few different coatings. I don’t think many know but the Mr. Everything towel is their Quandrant wipe minus the numbers. See it often in groups detailers will say you HAVE to polish after claying and/or before a ceramic coating. Ideal but don’t have to.

    You touched on a bunch of good points. It really can be hard to send out work that you know could be easily improved but the customer didn’t want correction done. You think the whole world will point out the defects and think you didn’t do a good job and it would reflect negatively on your business.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi thanks. Exactly! Detailers are the only ones who pick on each other about those things. Most times unfortunately those critical detailers do that because they have either low self esteem or an inflated ego (both manifest themselves in bullying others to make themselves feel or look better). It’s a sign of mental or emotional problems, and absolutely no indication of a lack of ability on the detailers they choose as their victims. 😎👍🏼

    I prefer the longer videos. I need the explanation in the content.
    Question: Do all late model vehicles have folding mirrors? Do the electrical folding mirrors fold manually? Water gets in there and drips down when I'm working and messy things up. I'm too scared to try and move them.
    Would the paint depth gauge show the hood was repainted, or is it just your experience that tells you that?
    Great video, keep them coming! Hi wife.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. Great questions. Not sure exactly on which years and models will have those types of mirrors. But from what I experienced those electronic folding mirrors can be folded in manually without hurting anything. I didn’t show it in the video but I went back the used my air compressor to blow out those areas to make sure they were dry completely.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Forgot to answer your paint depth question. The gauge may have shown that, but those fish eyes are a key sign of repaint. Also the customer told me later they had an accident and had the bumper and hood repainted. So my detective work was correct! 😁😎👍🏼

  • @DetailedbyDon

    Don't mean to overload your channel with my comments, but I have one more question that I need your opinion on. Both my cars have a heavy multi-layer TWHS "system" on them that from all appearances WILL last until April (the month I plan on applying a coating).
    Both cars are in excellent condition and don't even need an enhancement, but they WILL need to be polished to remove all the Hybrid Solutions sealants.
    These are my thoughts for the coating process: Wash well (duh), dry to the extreme (2 sources of forced air to assist) polish with Dr Beasley's NSP45, apply the GTECHNIQ C1 using the coating saver sponges you mentioned ( I LIKE the idea of the applicator not letting you waste/over-use product). 2 towel buff to remove.
    And one final thing, my nephew bought me a 10" "Wax Spreader" / Walmart orbital for Christmas, that uses VERY NICE microfiber bonnets. It has been EXCELLENT for polish and wax removal, and I was curious if you thought it might work for the 2nd wipe of the C1?

    Ok i have a topper question on this video lol. So would you use EXO v5 instead of the spray you used to extend the coating life span? I used Mckee37 5 year and 10 year coatings and want to start using gtechniq CSL and EXOv5 together. And what panel wipe spray did you use,the DIY Detail panel wipe? You didnt mention it on this video.
    Thanks

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. Great question. Applying a layer of EXOv5 is definitely an option, but it would be up the customer if they wanted to spend an extra few hundred dollars. The spray is quick and easy and part of the service anyway. You don’t have to apply both CSLand EXOv5 together. That’s merely an option. And it doesn’t extend the life of CSL that much more. I haven’t applied EXO as a second layer on CSL in many years.

    How bright of a handheld light do you recommend for looking at side panelswhen coating? I'm applying armour detail supply pro (very high solids count so im kinda a worried with messing it up but i dont want to try it on someone elses car before ive done it on my own 😅). I do have a decently bright headlamp to use. My vehicle is also light in color so i know its slightly harder to see.

    Its such a dumb idea that you cant coat an unpolished car. If anything its usually better to do that.
    Because a car with swirls and scratches will have more surface area to bond with the ceramic coating
    Its like when you paint a car, if you paint a smooth surface, it will bond pretty well. But if you paint a swirld up lightly scuffed surface, it will bond perfectly and stronger due to more surface area

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. Thanks for watching. It doesn’t work that way with clear coat, but I understand why you say that. Polishing it does deep the paint better and definitely adds to the overall appearance. What many detailers do not like is the fact that the paint may not look its best if the swirls remain. But of course swirls and how the paint looks will greatly depend on what the customer wants and their budget. 😎👍🏼

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. With most coatings I can usually get away with just 2-4 towels total. Some coatings like the pro versions are very thick and require more towels becasue they really saturated the towels. But I use the same methods as I showers in the videos
