    An idea just popped into my head about the problem you have with latex gloves while coating. How about using thin leather driving gloves? The benefits would be that they absorb sweat naturally and can protect your hands from coatings. I wouldn't think it would be harmful to paint, it's not like you're trying to touch the paint during a coating.

    Great video so thank you !!! I have just about every type of quality towels from TRC but I also have the Kirkland towels. I have been using the Kirkland towels for probably 15 years and NEVER had an issue with removing wax, sealants or coatings. They're plenty plush and the results I had gotten over the years were fantastic to say the least. Keep doing what you're doing and pay no attention to the nay sayers.....

      Thanks! That’s awesome! I am hearing a lot of detailers now seeing through the marketing scheme or just bad Intel on those Kirkland towels. I think some Detailers just regurgitate what they hear without actually proving it for themselves.

    Agree Phil many time even a strong pre wash, apc rinse, cannot surly remove a good wax or sealant. Maybe a very old, on the end of its lifetime, or just weakness it. Needs also strong contact wash maybe multiple rounds and a good string paint prep.
    Try some time dupli color wax remover the soy based version ( plastic bottle) as prep before seal coat maybe you will like it.
    Great video again, i don't like primers...but who cares...hahahahah
    Keep up Phil great content

      Thanks man. Yeah I’ve tried all the different solvent preps, but found the NSP. Primers to be superior for us. The coatings are looking and preforming better. I believe primer polishes are the future of coating prep. At least I think they should be, it eliminates risk and creates a. better bond.
      Thanks man!

    Hello, I have already used kirkland signature microfiber for wiping ceramic coatings, and I have not encountered any problems! No micro scratches, no swirls etc...! Even on soft clear coat !.And even after several machine washes with chemical guys microfiber wash + 80ml of white vinegar, they are still soft and fluffy!. But the one that was used for the ceramic coatings, I still relegate them to the plastic, tire or engine compartment just in case.

    Hi Phil, awesome video! I love to see how you and your wife take good care of your vehicle. Could you please let us know how often per year you would go through this complete process incl. polishing? I have a new X5 2024 and know that at some point I will have swirl marks that I will want like to take care of. Thank you and keep it up!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. Thanks. So this process is our ceramic coating service. Depending on the coating it can last 2 or more years. But as far as polishing to remove swirls usually if you do a light polish or paint enhancement on once a year or so it’s fine. You don’t want to do a full paint correction each time, but at least a light polish will help remove minor swirls that just come from washing it through the year.

    Amazing job on the BMW, Phil and Jess, thanks for sharing! Incidentally, I've had the same experience with some of the "lower-end" microfiber towels, they work great for coatings, and after that, they get put in the "engine bay towels" bin to extend their life a bit. I find the idea of using a polish/primer very useful and practical to avoid the use of additional products and the risk of affecting already polished paint. But there are two things that make me doubt: first, I think it is necessary to have good experience to recognize when the surface is already sufficiently polished and the marring that is observed comes from the product and not from insufficient polishing; and second, I am concerned about the possible residues left in the product when polishing before applying the coating (I may be wrong 😅). #Detailglovebox

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi. Yeah I used to feel the same way...we have been working with the NSP polishes now for about 3 years and have really seen the benefit of those. Not everyone is on board yet with them. But I truly think coating companies should develop primer polishes like NSP for their own coatings. Not only will it speed the process up, but eliminate risk of marring with panel wipes. I hope other companies catch on!

  • @alanadad8583

    Hey Phil and Jess, Great job as always! Just curious if using a towel damp with rinseless would help remove the residue of the nsp polishes or if that would be at odds with the primer.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. You could but I wouldn’t want to add any other product besides the NSP on the paint, you could use just DI Water damped towel and that could work also. But I’ve learn to work with the NSP’s polishes and the residue doesn’t bother me anymore.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. It doesn’t really matter that much, just personal choice. Usually I like to coat the wheels first then the next day dress the tires.
      For the windshield I like to do it first so I don’t have to lean over the paint.

      @@MirandaDetailingyes, I don't know why people don't like the Kirkland's microfiber towels but I have also used them for paint on any purpose. For coatings, I prefer the foam applicators or the small microfiber applicators because my hands are small, when I have used the rectangular microfiber applicator, I use like half of it.
