Since the case surrounding the PSU is plastic, do you need to run a grounding cable from the ground on the PSU to the frame of the printer?
Hi Daniel, Thank you for commenting. That is a great point and something I would add. My two machines that have the plastic PSU cases aren't currently grounded to the frame. I haven't experienced any differences between them and my two Ender 3 V2 that have metal PSU cases that screw directly into the frame.
great video, but why route the zaxis cable since you are using bltouch?
Hi Jonathan, Thank you for commenting and kind words. I appreciate you very much. The z-stepper motor wire wasn't included in that bundle just all the cables that go up to the gantry including the CR-touch. The heated bed cables also went through that hole but in their own sleeve. I think you mean the z-limit switch, which I removed when I installed the CR-Touch.
Best of luck with your mods!
Greetings!!!))) You continue to do the work that the manufacturer should have done. It turned out convenient and aesthetically pleasing, but one question - is the power supply not hot? It probably makes sense to cut a hole of a larger diameter in the metal cover of the power supply and install a low-profile low-speed fan 100-120 mm from the PC processor cooling system. Yes, and it's very good that you show how to work with dupoint crimping - it turns out that this confuses many.
Hi Burbycian, Happy Holiday! I did a silent mod video for the Ender 3 V2 that brings the overall noise to 40db I switched out all but the parts cooling fans to Noctuas one of which was 80mm for the power supply. The flow on the fan is so good that the power supply would cycle it on and off because it brought the temperature down so fast, the stock fan would run non-stop during an entire print. I'm planning to add a 80mm fan to it as well so the stock fan is temporary (check the picture and video links below).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wish you well-being and success in all your undertakings, and especially in educational activities in the field of 3D printing!!!)))
@@burbycianburbycianovich9274 Hi Burbycian, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year continued success to you and your family. We celebrated Christmas with our friends yesterday evening and I'm just now going to sleep. 3D printing is one of coolest hobbies.
funny how this is the exact opposite of the solution im lookingfor lol. figured the cooling would be better in the vertical position.
Hello Makedaevilmage, Thank you for commenting. I hear you and would have thought the same. My second 3D printer was an Ender 3 V2, it came with an under mounted power supply. The fan was super loud and ran constantly during prints and when trying to minimize the noise level I noticed that most the exhaust ports were covered by a black steel panel. I remixed a Thingiverse power supply cover that had lots of exhaust ports to use an 80x80mm fan. I had to add taller feet to the printer to allow enough clearance for the big fan but after the mod was completed the fan would cycle on and off during prints. For me it was well worth the effort.
Best of luck with your mods!
I hate the under mounted PSU, it gets in the way of my Pi and power control relays. Moved it to the side.
Hi C1ph3rpunk, Thank you for commenting. Yeah, I hear you, if you aren't planning to add Kevin's dual z-belt or dual lead screw mods to your printer then moving it wouldn't make sense. I'm transitioning my machines to Kevin's dual z-belts and enclosing a couple of them for ABS and nylon printing so the bottom was best for me.
Best of luck with your mods!
I hate the side mounted PSU, it gets in the way of my dual extruder and LED power lines. Moved it to the underside. 🤪
