- The new Audi A4 will arrive in North America at the beginning of 2020. This marks a facelift for the most popular vehicle in the Audi family. One in every five vehicles sold worldwide by Audi is in the A4 family. In North America we will get the sedan and Allroad using a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 248hp. This engine is a carry-over, as is the 7-speed S-Tronic transmission. The updates to the new 2020 Audi A4 are a new front design including new headlamps, lower and wider grill, bumper and air openings. The back too has a new light package and a wider, lower valance. Unusual for a mid-cycle facelift is the side bodywork has also been reworked to showcase the fender accents and lower belt-line. Inside the new Audi A4 has a new head unit that is now touch-sensitive instead of the central MMI controller in the existing car. The Allroad is the station wagon version and an S4 will come but initially the only engine available will be the 2.0L 4-cylinder.

When designers need to tell you the changes they've failed. Even for Audi this is boring and pedestrian design.
I thought the touchscreen would have blended in within the dashboard. Sticking up like that puts me off .

They did not ask current consumers about the rotary knob. It was a great solution. Better than dirty the screen with your fingers

I am so happy with my 18 A4. Much better looking than this facelift. Also, I am not a big fan of the touchscreen. I really dislike the trend of changing everything to touchscreen from Audi and Porsche.

Honestly i like my 2017 A4 much better!! U have to reach over to get to the touch screen...seems like an inconvenience to me.

You asked, sedan, wagon, or Allroad?--I'd take the wagon if they offered it in the US. I love my 2012 Avant. Not Allroad, Avant. People still complement the looks, and I've had about 20 people ask if it's for sale. Great vehicle, lovely to drive, lovely to look at.Thank you for many great reviews.
The car is beautiful and it drives smoother than my 2018, they most definitely revised the DSG programming. For 2021, I understand you get more hp and Premium Plus gets heated steering wheel by default. It is a lot of car for the money, for example a VW Jetta GLI (sportier version of Jetta) has less power, no Quattro, cheaper plasticky interior and they still want $30k for one when a used Audi A4 with 5k miles on it is at the same price, still has the same warranty as the Jetta but it is a Premium car with huge differences. I'm currently scoping out AutoTrader for a slightly used A4 with the right price and options, it is an amazing car, super quiet, luxurious and soo comfortable. Let's not even mention the 19 speakers Bang & Olufsen sound system.
3:55 exactly on point, the car is so quiet and you feel so separated from the elements, especially if the weather is bad outside, it gives you that cozy feeling no other car has.
Is this one coming with Quattro Ultra or mechanical Quattro?

2015 design is still so good and ahead of its time that only a minor facelift is needed and touchscreen to compete with its new rivals. imagine that

Audi look like itself - it hasn't copied anyone.
It is Hyundai that copied Audi. Copycat activity has been going on for decades - first the Japanese, then Korean and now also the Chinese and american (USA).
A4 looks like Jetta? or Jetta looks like A4?
I don’t like how they just stuck on a touch screen and put a storage compartment where the MMI knob used to be.. if they put all that effort into the sheet metal why couldn’t they have put the new style dashboard in as well? They did for the Q7...

3:23 "One thing Audi has always stood for" ... is shoddy reliability. Still, this car is likely best in class.
That's true for Audi's of maybe 10 years ago. Consumer reports consistently place Audis as one of their most reliable vehicles for the past 3 to 4 years. If you are going to buy a German vehicle you should consider an Audi over a BMW or Benz. They are good cars.

The touchscreen is a complete no way for me. I’ve got the old 2014 a4 with the screen built into the dashboard and it looks so much better although smaller.

Honestly prefer the 2019 model. This one kinda looks like a Jetta mixed with the older a4. Back is a good change, side and front looks like trash. Inside is also good. Audi’s new direction is getting worst.

This is perfect, just the right amount of touchscreen and buttons, regular people don't really care about chassis roll and handling etc, this car is so good.
Every year the Audi looks more and more like the Volkswagen.
It's the opposite. VW looks more like Audi.
While I love the Audi tech and interior, I still find the exterior too bland compared to its German competitors. The S4 and RS4 have the right look and I'm aware that those are the more sporty offerings but I just wished the A4 could adopt more of their looks
I disagree, Audi has nailed the look for those of us who want something that looks sophisticated. I like the look, it's clean and will age better than most BMW's and Merc's.

I'm with you on cars with elegant and unobtrusive designs, but even I know that going soft with design is killing them in the younger market. The 3 Series really is the better choice for younger market because it combines confident driving with very attractive (but not busy) design.
@@Lucky8s Well, I don't think it's killing them but they could probably sell more if they went a bit more aggressive. Still, the dynamics on these A4's is unbeatable right now. The A4 just punches above its class in terms of driving dynamics, finish and comfort.
@@AS-er4ud I kind of suspect you're right. The comments section of TH-cam is not necessarily Audi's target audience. Teenagers and young adults don't typically have $40-50K sitting around to buy a new A4 or a BMW and a lot of grown professionals don't want a flashy car because they can be perceived as "childish".

Very disappointed. I have a 2018 avant. A friend has the small update they did last year and now this one is out and it looks identical. The exterior really should look like the a6. I’m tempted get a new one but it would have to be Turbo Blue
Gosh!! Is that really a facelift? Looks more like a face off. The very first I saw the updated A4, it immediately reminded me of an amphibian. Ugly looking.
It's remarkable how much the front resembles my 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Not sure that appeals to the average Audi A4 buyer.

If you are going to bother redesigning then why not make it look different?
First off, this is just a face lift. Secondly, an A4 has an established look. If you make it look different it loses its identity and ceases being an A4.

LEDs look like a girl's eye lashes.
I think the interior updates alone make this a good buy, I personally didn’t like the swivel wheel and I think a touch screen is much more natural

Disagree. Pre-refresh is one of the most generic, boring looking luxury sedans out there. This refresh gives it a bit more character, though it's still near the rear of the pack for exterior styling.
