    This is a Motormouth couple car review of the Audi A4 compact sport sedan. The Audi A4 is powered by a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine with either 201 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque or 261 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The vast majority of buyers will choose the more powerful sedan and the lower horsepower sedan is only offered as a base Audi A4. Both engines are equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and standard AWD. The Audi A4 received a facelift just last year and includes new front and rear design, plus the side panels were also redone. The Audi A4 sport sedan has seating for 5-passengers with room for rear passengers over 6-feet tall. The dash of the Audi A4 has also been updated to include a new 10.1-inch touch screen that helps drivers interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The addition of the touch screen has removed the need for the MMI control wheel in the centre of the console. The interment cluster is fully digital and 12.3-inches. The Audi A4 sedan is also available as a wagon in North America called the Allroad. This is a particularly well done sedan with great handling, powerful engine, great balance and it does everything absolutely effortlessly. The 2021 Audi A4 comes standard with 10.1-inch touch display, Audi smartphone interface with wireless Carplay, Heated front seats, Power glass sunroof, Ambient lighting, Push button start/stop, LED headlights and taillights , 18-inch wheels, Lane departure warning and Audi Side Assist.

    I used to prefer BMW to the other German car makers, ever since the 3.0 CSI coupe of the 70s. Then, in 2008 I noticed how Audi had improved its products in tech, finish and design, while offering all this for an advantageous price. Now, Audi is the one for me. I loved the 2020 A4 45 TFSI I had as a loaner while my A5 was being serviced.

      If you're going to lease new and give it back every three years. Great car, however don't ever buy one hoping to keep it for the long run. 6 years old with 140,000kms. Timing chain is prone to jump time and because the 2.0l tfsi is a direct impact motor. You will have to replace the head, valves and timing chain.

    The A4 is a very capable all-around fun daily driver. It is ready out of the box to handle a decent amount of snow without getting stuck. I had the First Edition model a fews ago and think that was the best value in terms of the amount of features that came with it, favorite being the virtual cockpit, the flat bottom steering wheel, the special edition 5-spokes wheels, heated/cooled front seats and get this, a 19 speaker bang & olufsen sound package. It was honestly one of the best cars I have ever owned. This update wasn't my favorite as some of the interior elements (tacked on screen) is slightly outdated compared to competition. It also seemed a bit of a step back in the exterior as well. The chiseled line that went all the way across from the front to the back of the car went away. I tend to think that gave it a more muscular stance and was a great form factor. The new exterior also seem to have more "fake" elements implemented that doesn't make the car sharper (Fake vents/grille, exhaust tips that looks too big). I wish they did more to just enhance the existing look.

    This car gets more and more expensive with each passing year, even though they're not doing a whole lot to justify it. This entire segment is quickly becoming unaffordable to the original target demographic. People who can afford this much car can certainly find a better deal.

    Audi used to be my favorite German luxury car manufacturer. Recently, however, they have made choices that I don’t like - fake air intakes, fake exhaust ports, no separate fog lights, screens all over the dashboard. At least this one doesn’t have the latter. But it’s not a vehicle that I want to take a second look at after I have parked it. Though not in the same class, a Mazda 6 Signature is a much better looking car than this Audi. And considering what this car costs, I want a lot more than a tool that does everything well. I want to be stimulated visually.

    I prefer the outside look of the 3 Series. Both interiors are equally nice. However, the A4 infotainment screen glued on the dash is absolutely ridiculous for a luxury brand. Although the BMW 3 is not fully integrated, it looks much better and does not feel misplaced as in the Audi. The virtual cockpit in the A4 is awesome! I love the fact that leather seats are standard in the A4 as opposed to the Sensatec fake leather in the 3.

    • @gregwiens35
      @gregwiens35 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      T Klouster yes, noise enters the cabin on the Genesis for sure. It's quite noticeable to me as well as I currently drive a Lexus IS 350 F sport. I'm an enthusiast that has driven many cars and quite familiar with all of the sport luxury sedan differences and similarities. Some people, like myself, just want more power than they currently have (I love the Lexus but wish the refresh included the engine) and don't ever have anyone in the back seat and have an SUV as well so trunk space is not an issue. After looking at Mercedes, BMW (hate their upcharging schemes) and Acura (the refresh is nice but not enough) Im going to put up with Genesis poor panel gaps, thin insulation and cheaper plastic in some places for the engine and price.
      There is a car for everyone so to each his own. It's a blast to test drive them all :)

I cross shopped the S5 Sportback and the AMG C43... even the Benz couldn't quite match the performance, and that's saying something. Check out the just released Lightning Lap article in Car&Driver. Quite impressive, though they used the RWD which we don't get in Canada. Still, my AWD drive is even faster from a dig. 😁
