There’s a radio show from NPR called Planet Money, and in a recent episode, the hosts attempted to buy a vintage superhero as they talked about the economics behind superheroes and why companies hold on to thousands of them even though they use a handful for merchandising. I mention this because the hero they attempted to buy was none other than doorman.
What if doorman lays down? Also, doorman would probably be the best Street fighter ever. All he has to do is back up to a wall while being punched, then remove himself from the wall (probably making the villains arm come off, idk if it works like that). Idk, I just think doorman is a genuinely cool character. Also, why doesn't he make himself really fatter, in order to maximize surface area for his power to be used.
MCU the future members of the GLA each try out for this America's Got Talent/Who Wants To Be A Superhero style show and are all rejected. They all go back to their hotel which is also hosting this science expo which is then taken over by AIM who put a huge forcefield around the building keeping any big name heroes out so it's up to the GLA to save the day.
For the people who moved forward on the show round two would be like American Ninja Warrior/Wipeout with obstacle courses the would be superheroes have to use their powers to navigate.
Eh. They're no worse than when the main Avengers team was just Cap America, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Also, the song! *lol* th-cam.com/video/MwSpEQ1p-WI/w-d-xo.html
Could very well be! I had to look up thin man to jog my memory. I’ve seen the more modern interpretation. Never knew he was one of the first elastic characters predating even plastic man!
@@nikoniko9 there is two older elastic character that is older than Thin Man as far as I know and that's Flexo the Rubber Man created by Will Harr and Jack Binder for Mystic Comics #1 from Timely Comics in 1940. There is an updated version re-created for Marvel . The oldest is Ping the Elastic man but he wasn't a super-hero. He was a British comic strip that appeared in The Beano. It was about a boy who could stretch his limbs as if they were made of elastic and was created by Hugh McNeill. First appeared in July 1938.
I honestly have no idea. I don't read manga, but form my understanding from my friends who do, they tell me there is a whole genre of "body-switching" anime/manga.
@@nikoniko9 So basically, in western comics, only big Bertha is the only female superhero who can switch from thin to sumo fat as a power. And for mangas, they are also rare and barely used for main side characters since mangas commonly use the cliche kawaii chick who never gets fat despite eating a lot. That’s disappointing.
Flat man is a literal two dimensional character
And you are #1!
nikoniko9 have you Read the GLA Misassembled mini series and the GLXmas special?
I haven't unfortunately.
Mr. Immortal is basically the Kenny of the marvel universe
haha! Very True!
Okay but isn't doorman also like... an angle of death? Also, WHY DIDN'T YOU TALK ABOUT GOOD BOY AT ALL
he's still just a door. lol. And I could have, but she's more of a newer GLA character. I wanted to discuss the OG GLA team.
Yeah Doorman is a 90°angle.Just joking.

Doorman is the coolest! I need to listen to that btw.
You forgot to mention the best GLA member Grasshopper... you know the hero who is a different person because he dies in every issue he appears in
Haha! How could I forget!
I can see an animated series of them, with changes obviously mostly Big Bertha but i think it could be fun ^^
100% We need this!
A simple change is that she just has to exercise to return to her regular weight.
I've looked these Guys up recently my favorite so far is "Flatman"
And I don't mind "Dinoah Soar" as well
They're all so great. So so great.
@@nikoniko9
I'm sure they are 😉
Love the Great Lakes Avengers. I am from Wisconsin so just seeing the issues they deal with is so relatable.
Absoluely.
lolwut? food is relatable specifically to you? Bro shut up what a cringe comment
My favorite is Mr. immortal because he was literally told by God that he will see the last star Fizzle out of existence
Damn that’s bleak lol
Now I must embrace my power! Too the toilet!
Classic bertha!
Lol I was not ready for the zoom in at the end lol

Oh yeah, doorman is definitely the coolest out of the bunch.
I'm picturing a scene where Doorman is fighting someone on a skywalk, he lies down, the other jumps on top of him then falls through him.
@@jordanherkowski5052 THIS is why we need a movie of this team lol.
They should make a movie about the Great Lakes avengers
Yes, absolutely!
Dinah is pretty unique and cool, the others I think are decent
Why is my name different it's always been a great lakes avengers
Hey look doorman is the best. He should get a movie
They all should! I would gladly direct a GLA movie! Tell marvel!
@@nikoniko9 my man let's do this on one condition..... Doorman gets his movie first

im have been WAITING FOR A MCU GREAT LAKES MOVIE
HECK. YES! LETS TELL MARVEL!
Doorman eventually became the angel of death.
The fact that you said she makes the rounds lol 😂 was hilarious
Lol 😂 thank you!
Big Bertha is my favorite
She's everyones favorite!

These characters should replace the guardians in the mcu once their story is finished.
Yeeeeeees!
The goon, it’s fantastic
nice!
They should put the Great Lakes avengers in a LEGO marvel super heroes video game
We have squirrelgirl
They should!
A little late to your party but wouldn't this be the perfect way to introduce mutants and deadpool to the mcu?
I would watch it!
That's brilliant
Dude great editing brother :D I can't wait to see GLA in the MCU :) imagine they in South Haven dealing with some crazy supervillain like MODOK :D
That would be... THE DREAM!
Hey I'm a kid in mrs Echols first hour
Haha! cool dude. Welcome!
Great Lakes Avengers > West Coast Avengers.
Agreed.
Squirrel Girl is the best man, she's one of my favorite characters 😂
She is great!
Actually vision started the west coast avengers 😂

Great lakes avengers is a play on words (Great Lakes Avengers) the GLA. A.K.A. the JLA ( Justice League of America. John Byrne funny guy.
