beat up is a bit of an exaggeration. He got one lucky punch and grabbed the mask. Laurie did more than that when Michael was still young and in good health. I still think it the worst Halloween film so there's no need for exaggerations.

@@robogreek3157 while I found it had some suspense and a nice oh my god pay off, the writing of that opening scene was abysmal. So Cory is babysitting some brat who lives in an 18 story house. The kid pegs Cory as a loser and decides to mess with him. He pulls of an elaborate cat and mouse while Cory is in the kitchen moving from room to room like a ninja with no detection. I mean when Cory goes outside he swoops into the kitchen, grabs the knife, plants it on the steps, runs up multiple flights without a sound, and lures Cory into the attic. Cory, goes into the attic and gets locked in. Why his first instinct is to immediately kick the door and break it is nonsense. He was trapped for like 30 seconds. The kid positions himself right in front of the door and remains there even when you can hear Cory is trying to break it open. The door swings open and now the 4ft kid flys over the 3ft railing (makes no sense) and falls 80ft to his death while by complete chance, his parents are walking in the door. I know I am knitt picking but they actually wrote that sequence and went with it

He put up a good fight for someone almost 70 years old who had been shot and stabbed multiple times, had his head bashed in and was missing two finger. You seem to be forgetting that Laurie beat him multiple times when he was still young and in good health. So why couldn't he be beaten by a young man in his decrepit condition?

If they planned the trilogy they would have NOT had Micheal Myers imprisoned at the beginning of Halloween 2018. He simply vanished after the killings of 1978. Was missing for decades. And when the new murders pop up the town is unsure if it is him or a copycat, which would be a way for the writers to insert the Corey character in it. More streamlined.
This is what happens when you let a studio get too cute and symbolic. This film makes me believe that Halloween 2018 was supposed to be a stand alone film, and the studio just winged it from there.
I had a very similar rant about the movie immediately after I watched it. My wife thought I was making it up or exaggerating. The most amazing thing is there's really people out there who loved this movie. I just don't get it.

I actually liked Kills a lot. It has corny dialogue and while I think the mob stuff was very true to real life, I can understand why people hated that aspect. But at the very least, we got a ton of carnage candy at the hands of Myers. It was just dumb fun. THIS movie... was just dumb. Minus the fun. And completely nonsensical.

Here's 20 thoughts on why this movie sucked before I brain dump this turd. 1. Laurie was obsessed with Myers for 40 years. He finally comes back and KILLS her own daughter. And NOW after only 4 years she decides to shut off the revenge, move on her with life, bake pies, and let the anger go even though he’s still alive and out there? 2. Myers is missing after killing dozens and dozens of people in Haddonfield, yet no one ever looks in the sewer for him? 3. Myers is living in a sewer for 4 years? 4 YEARS! What is he eating? Even if you believe he ate the occasional dog or animal, we’re talking about 1,460 days of food. 4. A cop goes into a dark creepy sewer and doesn’t have a gun? 5. Am I to believe Michael Myers gets stronger after each time he kills? Is that what they are trying to add? So, if true, why didn’t Myers kill more people over the last 4 years? Why not kill the homeless guy who was living next to the sewer? 6. They set Allyson up to be a strong female survivor, then in Ends Allyson falls in love with Cory over the span of 2 F'ing days, wants to run away with him, and is fighting with her grandmother by acting like a stupid weak stereotypical love sick teen? 7. Why would Cory and Myers know where the nurse and doctor lived? And why would they be interested in killing them? They didn’t interact with them at all during the movie. Out of all the people in Haddonfield, these 2 were a high priority to seek out? Is the entire town 2 blocks? 8. Michael and Cory are now some tag-team working together like Batman and Robin? 9. How did Cory get superhuman strength? Just smashing the DJ’s face off the table is enough to rip his jaw almost off his face? The turntable didn't even move or break? And he can now stomp on a head and smash it like a pumpkin? 10. Myers is so weak after 4 years of recovering that Cory can just wrestle and throw him to the ground like a little bitch and steal the mask off his head? 11. Cory’s masterplan was to kill only a few characters introduced earlier in the movie to make it simple and then if he runs into any difficulty along the way, he will stab himself in the jugular and die? How exactly does that work? If I can’t have her, no one will? You’re dead. She can bang the coroner who shows up to pick up your dead body in 10 minutes. 12. A self-inflicted butcher knife stab to Cory’s jugular isn’t a kill shot ignoring the 2 or 3 gun shots and fall from the 2nd floor balcony? 13. After 44 years waiting for the ultimate showdown between Myers and Laurie, the writers thought it should take place in a 12x12 kitchen for 120 seconds. 14. Michael Myers was shot dozens of times, stabbed dozens of times with knifes, sewing needles, and pitch forks, burned, beaten with bats and clubs by an angry mob, throat slashed…and the FINAL wound he couldn’t recover from was having his wrist gently slit? 15. Myers was strong enough to stomp people’s heads into oblivion like a rotted pumpkin but not strong enough to kick away a refrigerator? 16. Lindsay and Officer Hawkins survive the first 2 films and then play absolutely no role at all in the final film. 17. Why would SO MANY kills happen off screen? Kills had a gigantic kill count and brutally showed everything. Ends, which had a very small kill count, and they showed next to nothing. 18. After everything Michael lived through and kept coming back, why risk strapping him to the hood of a car? Wouldn’t it make more sense to at least cut off his head to make sure he was dead and throw both into the grinder? 19. What is the point of this movie? Michael returned in the 1st. Rampages in the 2nd. And the 3rd basically had nothing to do with Myers or Laurie. We learn about a new character that no one gives a shit about. Myers shows up at the very end and easily dies. They could have tacked on the last 10 minutes of Ends to the end of Halloween Kills and finished the story in 2 films. Cory added nothing to the storyline and it accomplished nothing. Ends would have worked as a 20 minute web-short. 20. Where was the scares? Where was the suspense? Where was the stalking? There was absolutely nothing to keep you on the edge of your seat. Nothing to make you jump or feel uneasy. Nothing. Michael Myers was completely wasted as a cameo in his own film. This is the Clerks 3 of horror films. It doesn’t belong, ruins the characters, destroys what came previously, and is a complete waste of an opportunity.
The only one I can sort of answer is 7. The Doctor treated Allyson like shit and Deb stole her promotion... the promotion that the creep Doctor had promised Allyson. God knows why Michael was there or how he ended up there, but I can sort of understand Corey wanting to get revenge for their treatment of Allyson.

My goodness I just saw "Halloween Ends" for the first time yesterday and wow, it lived up to the hate I saw it getting. I have watched a dozen rants on it so far, and yours was the first one to comment on how terrible Michael's death was, thank you for that. Others say its the only good scene in the movie, and I don't know how. Michael took on a whole mob at the end of Halloween Kills, there is no way that one 61 year old woman could defeat him. Yet she did. Plus didnt she herself say that "You cant beat him with brute force" in Halloween Kills? Yet she killed him with brute force anyway? It was so underwhelming, just some slits from a knife and hes done. And then he just unceremoniously got dumped into a crusher Hell, Rob Zombies Halloween II gave Michael a far better death. It took the firepower of an entire police force to take him down. He didnt seem weak at all, he was an unstoppable force until the very end. Anyway all 28 minutes of this was absolute gold, I enjoyed every second of it. Great vid.

After seeing ENDS, I think the trilogy is Halloween 78, Halloween 2018, and Halloween Kills. ENDS makes no sense. The forced a teenage romance when they are in there 20s. Bullies are band geeks, and they kick Corey's ass lol. I think 2018 is Solid, and Halloween KILLS is the same night and Michael is just pissed off bc Lori tried to burn him alive, so Michael goes on a intense killing rampage, which i like, and to be honest that's why I like horror movies. I will never watch ENDS ever again. Most of ENDS was cringey dialogue and I almost shut it off. But I still love Michael Myers, and ENDS makes 2018 and Kills even better than before.

It felt like the movie was originally something else. I feel like it was a revenge slasher with Corey and they just lazily adopted it into a Halloween movie.
The non-sensical complaints of Halloween Ends: "Michael was weak in Ends" - Uh, yeah. That's literally the point. Throughout most of Kills, he was probably pumped up on adrenaline. The mob beating absolutely wrecked him. He was dying from years of untreated, infected wounds. And he's 65. He is quite literally an old man. He's still a human, afterall. "Michael got beat up by a nerd who got beat up by band bullies" - This one is my favourite. First of all, at this point in the story, Corey was infected with Michael's evil. THAT'S WHY he was able to go toe to toe with him. With this, it also made him stronger. Also, he never "beat up" Michael. He used Michael's own momentum against him, tripping him up causing Michael's head to smack into the ground. Secondly, those "band bullies" (I love how people have to shoehorn the word "band" in there) were literally the same size as Corey. Anyone can get their ass kicked by a group of teenagers. You're lying if you can't. What's more, Paul Brad Logan, the screenwriter of Ends and author of the Ends novelization, said in a recent interview, that he himself was once bullied by members of a marching band. The fact that they are in a band is irrelevant. "It's just an Allyson and Corey love story" - No, it's not that. It's a story about one person's descent into darkness and it showed that his attraction to Allyson turned into obsession because the evil was taking over. THAT is the point of that relationship. "Michael is hardly even in it" - Okay... But he was there the whole time. You could literally feel his presence seeping through every crack and crevis of Haddonfield. He tainted the town with his evil. And you know, he actually had less screentime in the original. Hell, Freddy Krueger only had about 7/8 minutes of screentime in the original Elm Street. But did that matter? No. Because you could still feel his presence. It's all about quality over quantity. Using him sparingly. "It's not a Halloween film" - Except, it quite literally is: a) It continues the story of the OG, 2018 and Kills. b) Michael Myers is in it. c) It takes place on Halloween. How is it NOT a Halloween film? Oh, I get it. Because it's not 2 hours of Michael going house to house, stalking and slaughtering people... Is that what you all wanted? Just a repeat of 2018 and Kills? Then you would all complain that Ends was just the same as the others. Now you complain that it's too different. These filmmakers just cannot win with this fanbase. They made the right choice. They branched out. Gave us something fresh. Something unique. And you know what? I would have them do it again. Oh, and let me just touch on what Laurie daid in Kills. "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something impossible to defeat: Fear. People are afraid. THAT is the true curse of Michael." How people cannot understand this is beyond me. People thought she was talking about Michael himself becoming unstoppable, which is why they are pissed off with how he is utilized in Ends. She was literally talking about the fear he creates. The more people are afraid, the more Michael's evil taints the town of Haddonfield. For 4 years after the events of 2018 and Kills, his presence was felt throughout the entirety of Haddonfield. Haddonfield was just a cesspool of dread and fear. And when watching Ends, you can feel it yourself. Not one point did I not think that Michael wasn't there. He was there the whole time. His evil presence was seeping through every crack and crevis of Haddonfield. SYMBOLISM people. It's not that hard to fucking grasp.

So here's my ranking of the franchise: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, H2O, RESURRECTION, KILLS, 3, RZ 1, RZ 2, 2018 and ENDS. So there you have it: ENDS is the worst Halloween movie to date.
The railing thing at the start could've been easily rectified if they just simply established that the railings were fragile. Like have Corey (the babysitter) walking up the stairs, he puts a hand on the railing and its so wobbly that it causes him to stumble for a moment. _Then,_ when the kid gets hit and falls back, have him bust through the fragile railing. That would do jack and squat for the movie overall, but they literally could've added some semblance of intelligence than the kid just suddenly turning into SCP-106 in that one instance.
How the fuck do you have this babysitter , Corey , go & "bitch- slap one of the greatest horror icons of all time & take his mask ; when in the previous movie , Myers takes on , & kills about 50 people armed -to - the teeth in one scene, how does that happen?! It broke my ❤️ !

The writing for Laurie, made no sense at all. Ain’t no way you can convince me that Michael was able to slaughter her daughter Karen and her beloved Tommy, and being able to go on the loose......and Laurie just moved on and got back to her life? This was the movie to act like Sarah Connor in, not Halloween 2018. Laurie should’ve been on the warpath.
After all these months at least some of what the writers were trying to tell, even though poorly, has come out. Still a terrible movie but at least some stuff has been explained. First the different font...not so different. You should have recognized it if you've watch every Halloween movie. This was the same font used in Halloween 3: Season of the witch. This should have told you that you were about to watch something with hardly any Michael in it. They were paying homage to it. The mom telling Corey about the kid being scared and peeing and all that stuff was done so that when we see Corey alone with this kid we see what the real kid was like. turns out the kid was acting out just for his parents attention. He was rotten spoiled kid. That kid was so terrible he would actually pee on his bed for attention. Michael never passes any curse or evil to Corey. It was supposed to be that Michael sensed a darkness and a connection with Corey. But there was no passing of a curse like so many people thought. But the scene made it look like that. I guess they just didn't know how to interpret that on film better. If certain deleted material had been left in it would explain a little more as to why Michael was taken down in the sewer. Ever notice his arm is basically limp? Deleted material explained Michael had been living for a year at an abandoned meat processing plant where he was healing. It was here he attacked a couple but he was so out of it, even though he survived the event so HK, that the girl impaled Michael's arm with a metal bar, which Michael then used to kill her. The bar severed a nerve. During Michael and Corey's team up, Corey took on the Doctor while Michael killed the nurse. This was supposedly done because the Doctor would have probably been able to overtake Michael and get away but the nurse was way to scared to do anything and Michael got her. When Michael killed the boyfriend in the sewer it revived him in a way. But after Corey took the mask, it brought back the rage within him. The mask is personal to Michel. So now he was ready to go out, get his mask back and kill Laurie. Corey was already on the brink of death so it was easy for him to break Corey's neck. But Michael was still weak which is why Laurie and him were more even in the fight. At this point Halloween movies are a choose your own adventure type thing. Like those old books where you choose which path you wanted to go. So many time lines now. Hell there's already talk about another movie coming out and it'll probably be a completely new timeline not connected to the last movies. Maybe it'll continue the Thorn Trilogy, or maybe we'll see the story continue after 4 or 5. But there's also talk about a tv series now. Crazy.

To put it bluntly: Blumhouse Productions, David Gorden Green, Danny McBride, Chris Bernier and Paul Brad Logan have took a huge dump on the Halloween Franchise for the fourth time with Halloween Ends. I'm really not sure if this Franchise can recover from this disaster again. The makers of this film put Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985), Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) and Christine (1983) in a blender. Mixed those four films together with the worst elements of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995). Thrown in a dash of Halloween H20 (1998) and voilà! The result is Halloween Ends and it's gloriously awful. And yet this new Halloween Trilogy got off to a good start with Halloween (2018). Yes, it stumbled with Halloween Kills (2021), but Halloween Kills was just a bridge movie in this trilogy. That had been a big problem. Halloween Ends isn't just a big slap in the face for these two movies, oh no! This film is a huge slap in the face to the entire Halloween Franchise. It doesn't feel like a Halloween Movie at all! It's just boring, frustrating and disappointing. So many new characters are introduced in this one. All have zero personality, are simply one dimensional and a bunch of assholes. I didn't like the Corey storyline at all. It had ZERO Pay off and was just pointless! Allyson is all over the place in this film. Her decisions made no sense and were completely contradictable to her character in comparison to the previous two films. Not to mention how annoying and unlikable she became in Ends. She really reminded me of Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Michael Myers himself (when he appeared) seemed bored, disinterested and tired. To add insult to injury, he was completely disrespected in this movie. You really want me to believe that some 24 years old douchebag who was bullied and beaten by some high school bullies, can beat the f*cking Michael Myers and steal his mask. Are you serious with this bullshit?! Heck, when this movie FINALLY decided to be a Halloween Movie, I was about to walk out of the theater. Not even the Kills are good in this movie imo. How can you screw up so much with something so simple! Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode is the only shining light in this awful film. If David Gorden Green really wanted to "Season of the Witch" the Franchise then he should have NOT bring Laurie and Michael back in Kills and Ends. He had the opportunity to give those characters a nice send-off in 2018 but he didn't do it. He is a hack! His Halloween Trilogy is so inconsistent. Like he and Danny McBride can't decide whether or not Michael Myers is a normal human being or a supernatural entity. David Gorden Green and Danny McBride be like: "Who knows, who cares!" Halloween Ends (2022) gets 1/5 stars from me. I can deal with a badly made movie that has bad writing and bad acting as long as it's still entertaining. The worst thing a movie can do to me is if it bores me and waste my time. Halloween Ends did that to me. I have never left the cinema so speechless, confused and angry at the same time. It's by far the worst movie in the Halloween Franchise. Yes, it's WORSE than Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (2009) and Halloween Kills (2021). I'm dead serious! I would rather rewatch those movies than this piece of shit ever again because at very least those movies felt like actual Halloween Movies to me, even so they suck. I HATE Halloween Ends. After this travesty, whatever other studio who will own the rights to this Franchise should really just do Halloween Anthology Movies. Do what John Carpenter and Debra Hill envisioned for this Franchise to become after Halloween II (1981). It failed with Season of the Witch in 1982 but now it is the right time to do that in my opinion. Michael Myers character is so played-out at this point that I don't think a new Reboot with him will be any successful, especially without Jamie Lee Curtis. Even if they will bring back Danielle Harris as Jamie Lloyd and make a direct Sequel to Halloween 4 and delete Halloween 5 and 6 from the timeline, so what? They gonna f*ck it up again! They do it everytime! Everytime they made a decent or a good Sequel to the 1978 Original or 1981 Halloween II, they immediately do a Sequel/Sequels that ruins everything. They did it with Halloween 4 which was ruined by Halloween 5 and 6. Then with H20 which was ruined by Resurrection and now with Halloween (2018) which is ruined by Kills and Ends. This makes 3 strikes now. You're out! As far as I'm concerned the Story of Michael Myers ended with Halloween II (1981). Michael Myers died in that movie with Dr. Loomis who sacrificed his life and died in a blaze of glory.
I'm convinced a solid half of these "Halloween fan who hates Halloween Ends" rants are just posers who only saw the first one and not the 6 sequels in that first timelime.

Seems they changed a lot...the original idea all 3 movies took place on the same night....and the test screening of Ends had to be way different to get a standing ovation. It defentley had a different ending. They made a new ending like 2 months before it came out.
I agree that it seemed like Michael wanted revenge against Laurie in Ends and that this goes against Hawkins telling her in Kills that Michael didn’t care about her. I thought the same thing and I haven’t seen anyone else mention this. I thought the whole point was that Laurie made a giant mistake thinking Michael was always coming after her and this ruined her life and relationship with her family. But it seems like this plot point is ignored in Ends. When Michael fights Laurie in Ends it seems personal to him. He tries to damage her hand in the garbage disposal which might be payback for her blowing off two of his fingers in 2018. It’s not exactly clear what the intent of the filmmakers was. Did Michael just want his mask back and he figured he might as well kill Laurie since she’s there, or did he go there specifically to kill Laurie and Corey just happened to be there with the mask? How did he even know Corey would be at Laurie’s house? Another thing I thought was really weird was that Laurie didn’t react to Corey wearing Michael’s mask. I would think she’d be surprised to see it and want to find out where he got it since that could lead to finding out where Michael has been hiding.

@@robogreek3157 while I found it had some suspense and a nice oh my god pay off, the writing of that opening scene was abysmal. So Cory is babysitting some brat who lives in an 18 story house. The kid pegs Cory as a loser and decides to mess with him. He pulls of an elaborate cat and mouse while Cory is in the kitchen moving from room to room like a ninja with no detection. I mean when Cory goes outside he swoops into the kitchen, grabs the knife, plants it on the steps, runs up multiple flights without a sound, and lures Cory into the attic. Cory, goes into the attic and gets locked in. Why his first instinct is to immediately kick the door and break it is nonsense. He was trapped for like 30 seconds. The kid positions himself right in front of the door and remains there even when you can hear Cory is trying to break it open. The door swings open and now the 4ft kid flys over the 3ft railing (makes no sense) and falls 80ft to his death while by complete chance, his parents are walking in the door.

If they planned the trilogy they would have NOT had Micheal Myers imprisoned at the beginning of Halloween 2018. He simply vanished after the killings of 1978. Was missing for decades. And when the new murders pop up the town is unsure if it is him or a copycat, which would be a way for the writers to insert the Corey character in it. More streamlined.
This is what happens when you let a studio get too cute and symbolic. This film makes me believe that Halloween 2018 was supposed to be a stand alone film, and the studio just winged it from there.

Here's 20 thoughts on why this movie sucked before I brain dump this turd.
1. Laurie was obsessed with Myers for 40 years. He finally comes back and KILLS her own daughter. And NOW after only 4 years she decides to shut off the revenge, move on her with life, bake pies, and let the anger go even though he’s still alive and out there?
2. Myers is missing after killing dozens and dozens of people in Haddonfield, yet no one ever looks in the sewer for him?
3. Myers is living in a sewer for 4 years? 4 YEARS! What is he eating? Even if you believe he ate the occasional dog or animal, we’re talking about 1,460 days of food.
4. A cop goes into a dark creepy sewer and doesn’t have a gun?
5. Am I to believe Michael Myers gets stronger after each time he kills? Is that what they are trying to add? So, if true, why didn’t Myers kill more people over the last 4 years? Why not kill the homeless guy who was living next to the sewer?
6. They set Allyson up to be a strong female survivor, then in Ends Allyson falls in love with Cory over the span of 2 F'ing days, wants to run away with him, and is fighting with her grandmother by acting like a stupid weak stereotypical love sick teen?
7. Why would Cory and Myers know where the nurse and doctor lived? And why would they be interested in killing them? They didn’t interact with them at all during the movie. Out of all the people in Haddonfield, these 2 were a high priority to seek out? Is the entire town 2 blocks?
8. Michael and Cory are now some tag-team working together like Batman and Robin?
9. How did Cory get superhuman strength? Just smashing the DJ’s face off the table is enough to rip his jaw almost off his face? The turntable didn't even move or break? And he can now stomp on a head and smash it like a pumpkin?
10. Myers is so weak after 4 years of recovering that Cory can just wrestle and throw him to the ground like a little bitch and steal the mask off his head?
11. Cory’s masterplan was to kill only a few characters introduced earlier in the movie to make it simple and then if he runs into any difficulty along the way, he will stab himself in the jugular and die? How exactly does that work? If I can’t have her, no one will? You’re dead. She can bang the coroner who shows up to pick up your dead body in 10 minutes.
12. A self-inflicted butcher knife stab to Cory’s jugular isn’t a kill shot ignoring the 2 or 3 gun shots and fall from the 2nd floor balcony?
13. After 44 years waiting for the ultimate showdown between Myers and Laurie, the writers thought it should take place in a 12x12 kitchen for 120 seconds.
14. Michael Myers was shot dozens of times, stabbed dozens of times with knifes, sewing needles, and pitch forks, burned, beaten with bats and clubs by an angry mob, throat slashed…and the FINAL wound he couldn’t recover from was having his wrist gently slit?
15. Myers was strong enough to stomp people’s heads into oblivion like a rotted pumpkin but not strong enough to kick away a refrigerator?
16. Lindsay and Officer Hawkins survive the first 2 films and then play absolutely no role at all in the final film.
17. Why would SO MANY kills happen off screen? Kills had a gigantic kill count and brutally showed everything. Ends, which had a very small kill count, and they showed next to nothing.
18. After everything Michael lived through and kept coming back, why risk strapping him to the hood of a car? Wouldn’t it make more sense to at least cut off his head to make sure he was dead and throw both into the grinder?
19. What is the point of this movie? Michael returned in the 1st. Rampages in the 2nd. And the 3rd basically had nothing to do with Myers or Laurie. We learn about a new character that no one gives a shit about. Myers shows up at the very end and easily dies. They could have tacked on the last 10 minutes of Ends to the end of Halloween Kills and finished the story in 2 films. Cory added nothing to the storyline and it accomplished nothing. Ends would have worked as a 20 minute web-short.
20. Where was the scares? Where was the suspense? Where was the stalking? There was absolutely nothing to keep you on the edge of your seat. Nothing to make you jump or feel uneasy. Nothing. Michael Myers was completely wasted as a cameo in his own film. This is the Clerks 3 of horror films. It doesn’t belong, ruins the characters, destroys what came previously, and is a complete waste of an opportunity.
The only one I can sort of answer is 7. The Doctor treated Allyson like shit and Deb stole her promotion... the promotion that the creep Doctor had promised Allyson. God knows why Michael was there or how he ended up there, but I can sort of understand Corey wanting to get revenge for their treatment of Allyson.
I saw this in the theater and literally shouted at the screen when it ended. It’s stunning how backwards this film is.

Hell, Rob Zombies Halloween II gave Michael a far better death. It took the firepower of an entire police force to take him down. He didnt seem weak at all, he was an unstoppable force until the very end.

After seeing ENDS, I think the trilogy is Halloween 78, Halloween 2018, and Halloween Kills. ENDS makes no sense. The forced a teenage romance when they are in there 20s. The non-sensical complaints of Halloween Ends:
"Michael was weak in Ends" - Uh, yeah. That's literally the point. Throughout most of Kills, he was probably pumped up on adrenaline. The mob beating absolutely wrecked him. He was dying from years of untreated, infected wounds. And he's 65. He is quite literally an old man. He's still a human, afterall.
"Michael got beat up by a nerd who got beat up by band bullies" - This one is my favourite. First of all, at this point in the story, Corey was infected with Michael's evil. Secondly, those "band bullies" (I love how people have to shoehorn the word "band" in there) were literally the same size as Corey. Anyone can get their ass kicked by a group of teenagers. You're lying if you can't. What's more, Paul Brad Logan, the screenwriter of Ends and author of the Ends novelization, said in a recent interview, that he himself was once bullied by members of a marching band. The fact that they are in a band is irrelevant.
"It's just an Allyson and Corey love story" - No, it's not that. It's a story about one person's descent into darkness and it showed that his attraction to Allyson turned into obsession because the evil was taking over. THAT is the point of that relationship.
"Michael is hardly even in it" - Okay... But he was there the whole time. You could literally feel his presence seeping through every crack and crevis of Haddonfield. He tainted the town with his evil. And you know, he actually had less screentime in the original. Hell, Freddy Krueger only had about 7/8 minutes of screentime in the original Elm Street. But did that matter? No. Because you could still feel his presence. It's all about quality over quantity. Using him sparingly.
"It's not a Halloween film" - Except, it quite literally is:
a) It continues the story of the OG, 2018 and Kills.
b) Michael Myers is in it.
c) It takes place on Halloween.
How is it NOT a Halloween film? Oh, I get it. Because it's not 2 hours of Michael going house to house, stalking and slaughtering people... Is that what you all wanted? Just a repeat of 2018 and Kills? Then you would all complain that Ends was just the same as the others. Now you complain that it's too different. These filmmakers just cannot win with this fanbase. They made the right choice. They branched out. Gave us something fresh. Something unique. And you know what? I would have them do it again.
Oh, and let me just touch on what Laurie daid in Kills. "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something impossible to defeat: Fear. People are afraid. THAT is the true curse of Michael."
How people cannot understand this is beyond me. People thought she was talking about Michael himself becoming unstoppable, which is why they are pissed off with how he is utilized in Ends. She was literally talking about the fear he creates. The more people are afraid, the more Michael's evil taints the town of Haddonfield.
For 4 years after the events of 2018 and Kills, his presence was felt throughout the entirety of Haddonfield. Haddonfield was just a cesspool of dread and fear. And when watching Ends, you can feel it yourself. Not one point did I not think that Michael wasn't there. He was there the whole time. His evil presence was seeping through every crack and crevis of Haddonfield.
SYMBOLISM people. It's not that hard to fucking grasp.

The railing thing at the start could've been easily rectified if they just simply established that the railings were fragile. Like have Corey (the babysitter) walking up the stairs, he puts a hand on the railing and its so wobbly that it causes him to stumble for a moment.
_Then,_ when the kid gets hit and falls back, have him bust through the fragile railing.
That would do jack and squat for the movie overall, but they literally could've added some semblance of intelligence than the kid just suddenly turning into SCP-106 in that one instance.

The writing for Laurie, made no sense at all. Ain’t no way you can convince me that Michael was able to slaughter her daughter Karen and her beloved Tommy, and being able to go on the loose......and Laurie just moved on and got back to her life? This was the movie to act like Sarah Connor in, not Halloween 2018. Laurie should’ve been on the warpath.

I read this in the voice of that comic book guy from the Simpsons. I don't know whether you did that intentionally or not but it made me laugh anyway.
After all these months at least some of what the writers were trying to tell, even though poorly, has come out. Still a terrible movie but at least some stuff has been explained. First the different font...not so different. You should have recognized it if you've watch every Halloween movie. This was the same font used in Halloween 3: Season of the witch. This should have told you that you were about to watch something with hardly any Michael in it. They were paying homage to it. The mom telling Corey about the kid being scared and peeing and all that stuff was done so that when we see Corey alone with this kid we see what the real kid was like. turns out the kid was acting out just for his parents attention. He was rotten spoiled kid. That kid was so terrible he would actually pee on his bed for attention. Michael never passes any curse or evil to Corey. It was supposed to be that Michael sensed a darkness and a connection with Corey. But there was no passing of a curse like so many people thought. But the scene made it look like that. I guess they just didn't know how to interpret that on film better. If certain deleted material had been left in it would explain a little more as to why Michael was taken down in the sewer. Ever notice his arm is basically limp? Deleted material explained Michael had been living for a year at an abandoned meat processing plant where he was healing. It was here he attacked a couple but he was so out of it, even though he survived the event so HK, that the girl impaled Michael's arm with a metal bar, which Michael then used to kill her. The bar severed a nerve. During Michael and Corey's team up, Corey took on the Doctor while Michael killed the nurse. This was supposedly done because the Doctor would have probably been able to overtake Michael and get away but the nurse was way to scared to do anything and Michael got her. When Michael killed the boyfriend in the sewer it revived him in a way. But after Corey took the mask, it brought back the rage within him. The mask is personal to Michel. So now he was ready to go out, get his mask back and kill Laurie. Corey was already on the brink of death so it was easy for him to break Corey's neck. But Michael was still weak which is why Laurie and him were more even in the fight. At this point Halloween movies are a choose your own adventure type thing. Like those old books where you choose which path you wanted to go. So many time lines now. Hell there's already talk about another movie coming out and it'll probably be a completely new timeline not connected to the last movies. Maybe it'll continue the Thorn Trilogy, or maybe we'll see the story continue after 4 or 5. But there's also talk about a tv series now. Crazy.
By the way that f****** hoodie is awesome I remember watching the original Toy Story when I first came out in the 90s hell yeah man awesome pop collection too I completely agree remember watching the bullies thinking aren't they high schoolers you're letting them bully you they all look like dorks one look like a lesbian with a mullet and the one main kid is driving like a old 1993 car and thinks he's the s*** which was so funny

To put it bluntly: Blumhouse Productions, David Gorden Green, Danny McBride, Chris Bernier and Paul Brad Logan have took a huge dump on the Halloween Franchise for the fourth time with Halloween Ends. I'm really not sure if this Franchise can recover from this disaster again.
The makers of this film put Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985), Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) and Christine (1983) in a blender. Mixed those four films together with the worst elements of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995). Thrown in a dash of Halloween H20 (1998) and voilà!
The result is Halloween Ends and it's gloriously awful.
And yet this new Halloween Trilogy got off to a good start with Halloween (2018). Yes, it stumbled with Halloween Kills (2021), but Halloween Kills was just a bridge movie in this trilogy. That had been a big problem.
Halloween Ends isn't just a big slap in the face for these two movies, oh no!
This film is a huge slap in the face to the entire Halloween Franchise. It doesn't feel like a Halloween Movie at all! It's just boring, frustrating and disappointing. So many new characters are introduced in this one. All have zero personality, are simply one dimensional and a bunch of assholes. I didn't like the Corey storyline at all. It had ZERO Pay off and was just pointless!
Allyson is all over the place in this film. Her decisions made no sense and were completely contradictable to her character in comparison to the previous two films. Not to mention how annoying and unlikable she became in Ends. She really reminded me of Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.
Michael Myers himself (when he appeared) seemed bored, disinterested and tired. To add insult to injury, he was completely disrespected in this movie. You really want me to believe that some 24 years old douchebag who was bullied and beaten by some high school bullies, can beat the f*cking Michael Myers and steal his mask. His Halloween Trilogy is so inconsistent. Like he and Danny McBride can't decide whether or not Michael Myers is a normal human being or a supernatural entity. In Kills, Laurie said and I quote: "I always thought Michael Myers was flesh and blood, just like you and me, but a mortal man could not have survived, what he's lived through." Then in Ends she says and I quote: "I thought maybe you were the boogeyman. No, you're just a man [...]."
Is he supernatural or not? David Gorden Green and Danny McBride be like: "Who knows, who cares!"

It's by far the worst movie in the Halloween Franchise. Yes, it's WORSE than Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (2009) and Halloween Kills (2021).
I'm dead serious! I would rather rewatch those movies than this piece of shit ever again because at very least those movies felt like actual Halloween Movies to me, even so they suck.

As far as I'm concerned the Story of Michael Myers ended with Halloween II (1981). Michael Myers died in that movie with Dr. Loomis who sacrificed his life and died in a blaze of glory.

been a Horror fan over 39 years i’ve seen it all…. i was disappointed by Halloween (2018) The only thing they managed to do great was the mask the entire story is so insulting it was never made for the fans….. It was made to make easy money because the Horror community is easy to grift (I’m shocked so many people praised Halloween 2018 (A lot of this is due to marketing and using the internet to pump it up as this huge game changer (This new Time line is utter garbage that really shouldn’t exist) Huge Halloween fan but, time to just let it fade with dignity and respect! the internet is dead wrong 50% of the time Halloween Resurrection really doesn’t deserve the venom it gets seen it opening night the theatre was packed and very hot (It’s not bad at all if you just ignore the first 10-15min. with Laurie Strode it a nice follow up to H20 Blumhouse is a mickey mouse production company (They have done cool ideas like The Purge,Happy Death Day, & The Invisible Man but, none of there films are remotely original in many ways they are a big budget version of The Asylum
Seems they changed a lot...the original idea all 3 movies took place on the same night....and the test screening of Ends had to be way different to get a standing ovation. It defentley had a different ending. They made a new ending like 2 months before it came out.

Ends dethroned Halloween 3 and resurrection for me as the worst Halloween movie ever made and I never thought that would happen EVER.
I agree that it seemed like Michael wanted revenge against Laurie in Ends and that this goes against Hawkins telling her in Kills that Michael didn’t care about her. I thought the same thing and I haven’t seen anyone else mention this. I thought the whole point was that Laurie made a giant mistake thinking Michael was always coming after her and this ruined her life and relationship with her family. But it seems like this plot point is ignored in Ends. When Michael fights Laurie in Ends it seems personal to him. He tries to damage her hand in the garbage disposal which might be payback for her blowing off two of his fingers in 2018. It’s not exactly clear what the intent of the filmmakers was. Did Michael just want his mask back and he figured he might as well kill Laurie since she’s there, or did he go there specifically to kill Laurie and Corey just happened to be there with the mask? How did he even know Corey would be at Laurie’s house? Another thing I thought was really weird was that Laurie didn’t react to Corey wearing Michael’s mask. I would think she’d be surprised to see it and want to find out where he got it since that could lead to finding out where Michael has been hiding.
