    There is a dipstick made aftermarket for the Camaros with 8l. With a little modification it works for the trucks too. I also believe b&m makes one for all.

    2017 GMC Sierra 6.2 8L90- had the standard issues little slip from a stop, 1-2 shift and 2-3 were not great. Would bang into 2nd sometimes if going slow downhill…..shuttered at 35mph when cruising. Added the Lube Guard and they stopped shuttering but did not fix the other issues. Fluid was changed 20k miles ago. Decided to go with the Mobile LV HP and it completely fixed everything. I would highly recommend anyone just go ahead and flush it out and put in Mobile LV HP and see what happens.

    I just did this, and even with ratcheting down the exhaust as far as it will go, the pan wouldn’t get past a few parts sticking down. I was able to get the filter out, wipe it all out really well and reinstall. My clearance for hose between the exhaust and tranny was also a lot less than this, so filling when hot was a task.

    Great video! Unfortunately it appears that clearance between the pan and exhaust varies slightly from vehicle to vehicle. I've been trying for a couple hours now and came across your video. I tried your method several times without any additional luck. It also looks like the sway bar keeps the pan from moving to far forward. I'll try again tomorrow.

    I have a question sir I hope you can help me! My truck just started making like a pop noise and at first i thought I had an exhaust leak and took it to the shop and they said a weld cracked and they welded it back. But I still kept hearing that pop noise like a backfire, so I would let it sit in neutral and rev it but no pops. Then when I’m on the road and gas it I hear pops like little backfires! And I hope it’s not my transmission so you think it may be the torque converter? :(

      the only thing that you are changing when pull in gear and giving it the gas is your putting more pressure on your flex plate I would be looking for a crack in the flex plate

    • @JFEnterprize
      @JFEnterprize 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Been a min but I’d of added extra to be sure. Prob not an entire quart but whatever filled it and resulted in that stream coming out. I’d of assumed when it’s “overflowing” like it does from that full hole you prob don’t want extra in there but it’s likely a 1/4 qt tops. Prob doesn’t hurt. How did you make out?

      Your supposed to go to the dealer and they do a blood transussion type gig to your trans. With a cleaning agent. Your old fluid comes out one end followed by the cleaner then when the new juice starts to flow it’s done.

  • @robmoss6853
    @robmoss6853 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Did you just reuse the same gasket? Also, I have heard about doing it 3 times to completely and slowly get all the original fluid out. Can you weigh in on that. Thanks again for the video! The dealership didn't want to touch it and a tranny shop wanted me to do it 3 times. I van do it now that I have seen your video.

    • @JFEnterprize
      @JFEnterprize 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dealers by me have a machine that does a blood transfusion essentially. With some sorta cleaner added in the middle. Or they pump cleaner in as your old fluid comes out then pump fresh fluid into the trans and when the remainder of the cleaner comes out the tube followed by new juice they pull it. I inquired mo the back on it. Think was 3-500$ job tho still at that. Doesn’t include replacing the filter 😳🫨 so dunno how that works out.

    Good video but 7.5qts is overfilled. After sitting over night and not starting I only got 5.5 out. Add 6 and between 131-149*f you drain until it until its just a drip.

      Im glad you saved 20 dollars on fluid but I have never gotten that lucky, I do this for a living and have never used less then 7 quarts in a fluid change both my books call for 7.4 quarts on a fluid and filter change

    • @ericeaton9181
      @ericeaton9181 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @codemansauto208 I couldn't care less about 20 bucks and I actually went through 12qts by doing it twice. Did you pull the lines to get more fluid? Did you measure the amount you drained? Did you get the transmission to the propped temp before checking because everything I've seen or read says there should not be a stream coming out at all. 🤔

  • @ikg2004
    @ikg2004 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So the plug doesn't act as a dip stick? You can't measure your fluid with it?

    • @codemansauto208
      @codemansauto208  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I,ve replaced one before in a 4wd unit. The symptoms was hard jerk when you barley press the gas. Best example I can give is it would feel like picture expecting a smooth reaction from the foot pedal and it randomly snatch you. I believe the converter was 900$ OR 1900$ from the dealer with a hefy core charge. Me and a friend had it done in about 9 hours each. The wire harness and evap is the only thing that will be in the way, and the manner in which it comes down. Theres a non removal frame structure that makes it a challenge.

      we like to see fluid coming out of the check plug until it stops then we pump in a half pint of transmission fluid just to make sure that it is full

    • @thisguyhudson5995
      @thisguyhudson5995 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@codemansauto208 my trans has entirely too much fluid in it then. The shop I went to told me to fill it up to the very top plug (not the pan screw) that you fill it with. Shift it. Then fill it til it comes out the top.
      So by doing this, is is completely packed with fluid and over time of driving, it starts to overheat if I drive more than 30 min.

      @@JFEnterprizedealer told me the same thing yesterday. They do the flush with the machine and the filter isn’t serviceable. I think they’re lying. Either way I’m doing new fluid every 30-35k miles. Hopefully a flush won’t be so bad with doing it this often.

    • @JFEnterprize

      @@Pilot_Dad22 I’d kinda want the filet changed. Did you hear if they push it from top to bottom or bottom to top ie backflush? that’s what scares me 😂 havnt done mine at all and mines at 80k if you do it the recommended every 30k miles I’m guessing you won’t need a new trans at about 110k miles like many say. Prob due to not changing it. Mine seems already to act funny when shifting ect. As a 2019 LD

    • @Pilot_Dad22
      @Pilot_Dad22 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JFEnterprize I’m not 100% sure how the machine interfaces with the trans to evacuate the fluid but I feel slightly better about them using the machine since I’m doing it more regularly. I would eventually like the filter changed but it sounds like it won’t be getting done through one of these dealers unfortunately. I’m curious what your trans is doing that you say is “funny”. Fwiw mine has always had hard shifts into second when it’s cold. Dealer says that’s normal for these. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I suspect it could be improved with tuning. Originally mine started in with the TC shudder at 32k miles. Dealer flushed it then and that problem has been gone since.
