man this brings me back, in 1998 I got my private Cessna license and on my solo test I had to land here, refuel and make my way to Niagara Falls and back to Mt. Hope (Hamilton) airport. I still can feel my nerves from back then of just entering this airspace is something else let alone landing a tiny plane surrounded by massive whales of 747's place is freaking massive.
Thanks for the tour of Toronto. It sure has changed. I love the Challenger 300 and 350. A little hot over the threshold, is that because you had to maintain 170 kts until the final approach fix?
Every pilot disconnects the ap at a different stage. Personally I like to disconnect it as early as possible, enjoy that hand flying as much as you can
i believe just an Ontario thing, kinda like a nice confirmation you read the right thing back. Usually not on every transmission, just on the ones that can be easily confused. Headings, speeds, etc. at least thats what ive noticed flying here.
A qualified AME I always wanted to do my pilot licence, but as I suffer chronic performance anxiety i would freeze while using the inboard radio so I was immediately failed.
APP mode was armed, this plane struggles with switching to loc mode for some reason, the solution we usually have is to lineup with the runway using the LNAV, and then before you get to the FAF you hit APP and switch to LOC and GS

Great video! I've flown into YYZ as a passenger more times than I can count, very cool to see it from the pilot perspective.
I work on that ramp, I’ve seen all your videos, shame I missed you!
We come to CYYZ sometimes, so theres always next time 🤞
Excellent! Enjoyed alot. Know CYYZ well. Thanks for sharing!
@@rangerrick8220 Thanks!
Who or what is CYYZ?! Did you mean Pearson-YYZed?

Great video! Toronto is great place, crazy traffic! Always enjoy the videos and thanks for making them.
@@firepilot109 Thanks!
Awesome video per usual. You're going to hit 100K subscribers with this quality of videos in no time.
Thanks! I hope so haha
@@TheChallengerPilot Absolutely! Would be cool if you did a video on starting the bird up and take off too!

This was amazing have never seen a pilots perspective before!
Thank you for sharing your flight in for a very nice landing.😊
Thanks for watching!
You are welcome. Fly safe. ☺
Awesome video. Enjoy watching it. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
A bit of an unusual approach. Great video
It is crazy to fly over the city. Noise all the time
That was one dirty intercept. Good thing Toronto wasn’t using parallel operations at that time.
Came here to say the same thing 😬
My home airport 🙌. Love the content!
another wicked video
Thanks!
The roger after every readback kills me.

Did you disable AP earlier than normal ?

notice how clear the ATC are in speaking.
the wonders of a good radio
Here’s a weird hypothetical question: could this Challenger jet land at Billy Bishop Airport if it deployed a parachute ?
Why doesn't my 152 look like this
@@ronparrish6666 Haha, soon buddy soon 🤞
Why does the ATC keep saying Roger after read back?
It’s a Toronto controller thing. They do it all the time, might be a Canadian standard
I was wondering that too haha
It's faster than saying "One Mike Charlie, readback is correct".
@@JTD8896Same here in Montreal.

Next time arm the approach modem and you won’t go through the localizer. Sloppy flying.

This isn't Toronto. It's Mississauga
pedantic.
@@rashesthippo I wouldn't consider the city you're landing in a minor detail. But I'm not retarded.
