Regarding the comments on CPU temps @ 13:07, the water cooling in the Legion 9i is only on the GPU VRAM so any impact it has on CPU temps is indirect when the system temp is above 84C.

Lenovo 7i pro is the way to go in my opinion. Bought that a few months ago and very happy with it (4090 with 13900, 32 GB RAM, 2 TB SSDs). Alan Wake 2 runs totally fine on it as well:)
To explain why I bought such a crazy (expensive) laptop over a desktop; it is because I move regularly and stay for a few months in a different place sometimes and I don't want to lug around a desktop every time.

Speaking of PCs I'm wondering if you can review some prebuilt PCs. Especially in Canada I have tried building my own but parts are just so much more expensive than prebuilds. I ended up settling on the Lenovo Legion 9i. After testing an Alienware M16 (4090), Asus Strix Scar 16 (4090), Acer Predator Triton 17x (4090), Asus Zephyrus Duo 16 (4090). The only reason was because of the 3.2k miniLED screen.
Also the drivers from Lenovo limits the display to 650nits (SDR) & 700nits (HDR). If you were to DDU the Lenovo Intel Drivers and install the latest from Intel, you will get the 1150nits (SDR) and 1200nits (HDR). This is why the diplsay colorspace gamut is so low. I measured 102% sRGB w/ 152% volume, 99% DCI-P3 w/ 100% volume, and 98% AdobeRGB w/ 89% volume with direct Intel's drivers.
I also have two 4090 gaming desktop PC, my smallest one is on an ITX platform. Just not small enough to bring around on vacation

In general, the Legion 7i from 2022 was by far one of the best ever laptops Lenovo designed, in terms of design, display, performance and everything in general, minus the USB A port speeds, which do matter for many people, overall, a USB C to A dongle would do the trick. Rocked a full powered 3080Ti which in my honest and humble opinion, was and is plenty good for games these days. It has the best mix for both productivity and gaming. The Legion Pro 7 from this year was a little let down compared to that. All in all, Lenovo be making bangers each year.

The problem with the Razer Blade 16 is the fact that dual sided drives don't work because the SSDs are stacked on top of one another. The Lenovo Legion 9i has the SO-DIMM RAM on the other side of the motherboard; although it comes with at least 32 GB at the base price and can go up to 64 GB, it makes the RAM harder to access for little to no consumer benefit.
I honestly think if Lenovo just made the 2022 Legion 7i chassis the 2023 Legion 9i, i think it would have been an instant winner. But not in its current form with its tiny touchpad and imo worse than useless liquid cooling (because if the liquid cooler leaks, you're screwed)...

Both made such annoying choices....too many to list. How a $4k+ Intel laptop has only one TB port and two slower usb c ports is unforgivable, not to mention the horrendous keyboard on that machine (the Razer, of course). The Lenovo, that keyboard being shifted down for water cooling a gpu that NEVER THROTTLES ON ANY LAPTOP is a ridiculous choice. Heck, if you want to water cool something, how about trying to tame that darn Intel processor since that chip is nearly impossible to stop from throttling in a laptop. And I completely agree about the resolutions; a native 1600p mini LED display at 240hz would have been an outstanding option. Anyway, I'm just overly complaining :) It's just, the Razer has so much potential. So many of us would pay the price for the machine if the keyboard was better and the ports were better. I dislike the trunk on the Lenovo, and let's face it, Razer's build quality and smaller footprint for the same screen size is worth the extra money (particularly since you are not losing performance...Razer's cooling is just as good as Lenovo's, despite the smaller footprint). Anyway, I'll just throw out how much I appreciate these videos, Moniz. They are entertaining and informative. Have a great weekend.

They do top out with "only" a RTX 4080, but that's probably the sweet spot in terms of price to performance, given the Predators seem to get around 145 - 150 watts of power without dynamic boost.
The only problem is battery life appears to be bad, but that's going to be a given with Intel HX CPUs and a Mini LED screen.

As a lenovo fan razer blade is a better built product and has better accessories available for them vs lenovo. Software is simple and easy to use with the razer blade. The cooling system is really good. You can upgrade the thermal pads on the razer blade and the thermal paste then undervolt it to fix the cpu. The oled screen is better on the razer hands down for color. Charger is built better as well as the port. Usb ports on the back of a laptop are hard to use and nonsenes. Lay in bed with those cords plugged in or sit on the couch its hard to see whats plugged in and easy to break a usb port. Out of reach on a work desk as well vs the side being available. Speakers are the best u will find in a windows laptop. The Blade does come in the color mercury as well. Do you need a big screen or a small screen? Is long battery life a necessity? Do you care about design and build quality? Is portability a factor These are the questions that will help us recommend either one of them to you.
For screen size, I personally would go for the blade 16 as 14 inches is too small for me, especially while gaming or coding. If you absolutely need good runtimes off the wall then get the g14 as it'll net you longer battery life (though the blade's battery isn't terrible if you can manage). If you fancy looks and build then go for the blade as it looks nicer and also has better build quality. Finally, if you want the more portable option, then the g14's the only way to fly.

Well, Razer is still Razer my friend. Yeah, 600 usd is a lot more for not much more value or convenience, but the argument can be made.
I see it like comparing an ACER Predator to an ASUS or MSI equivalent. It might be spec3d out exactly the same in terms of CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and expansion ability, but ACER ain't up there and the price reflects it.
Razer Blade is the benchmark of the gaming laptop industry along with Alienware products. Legion is good, but it aint the benchmark and that impacts the prize.
Now, if Razer had included the same 13989 cpu and maybe some extra stuff like a hard case, a headset or any other thing. Or if the price difference was around 300 to 400 usd it would be just right to ask that for the brand, build, audio and trackpad.
Razer is the gaming laptop for wealty profesionals. Just like ASUS TUF is the one for not do wealthy profesionals. They just look clean, are convenient, are greatly built and offer the best out there in their category.

14:21 As we all know, the pricing on the Razer Blade laptops have always been unreasonable. They're charging several hundred dollars more just for the build quality and looks because they're the only ones making laptops that look like Macbooks that can game. It just goes to show how much gamers want their laptops to also look professional and sleek. The rest of the gaming laptop industry is seriously missing out by not tapping into this big desire of the gaming consumers. If another company made gaming laptops that look and feel like Macbooks and charged $300 less than Razer they would be successful and drive Razer out of the competition. Listen, if you're looking into buying these decked out models, money is already not the most significant determining factor in your decision making and personally I'd much rather bring my Blade 16 to work than something that looks like Legion or other gaming laptops that look like Gundam

The Legion 5 and 7, especially the slim variants, also look subdued and more professional and are very well priced. Acer has the Triton line which has the clean machined aluminum look. Razer isn't completely alone and lack of alternatives is not the reason they charge a premium IMO. It's just brand cachet. Alienwares are decidedly un-sleek, and they charge too much as well. You said "It just goes to show how much gamers want their laptops to also look professional and sleek" but I'd be weary of casting the whole market segment as one monolithic group. There's a large chunk of the market that loves aggressive case design, RGB lighting, etc. That's why gaming laptops look the way they do. The companies just follow consumer demand, they don't care what it looks like.
