Moved to NF from Southeastern CT almost a decade ago, got a hundred year old house in LaSalle for less than $100K. Back home, something like that would go for a quarter million! Granted, you'd get a bigger yard, but dang, we love it here!✌️

Disclaimer, I am a Canadian and frequently cross the border to Niagara Falls, New York. You'll hear stories of how Niagara Falls, NY is bad but it's not

I love Niagara Falls New York all the time. You should try De Dee's Dairy ice cream.

I'm Canadian and as strange as this may seem, I enjoy visiting the American side better. As a history buff, it's like studying a crime scene in urban planning gone horribly wrong. For example, why on earth did they build the Robert Moses Parkway--a parkway that cuts off the Falls from the business district? Some speculate that being from NYC, Moses hated Upstate and it was his way of sticking a middle finger up at the region. Whatever the reason, the ripple effects from that infrastructure project still haunt the city to this day.

I'm from Canada and visited over the weekend, stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton which was nice. The walk along the river to state park/goat Island is beautiful, especially this season. I found it more relaxing compared to the Canadian side as there are no cars around. I did take a walk around the local streets and it seemed mostly run down with some road reconstruction going on. I took a drive up 10th street to Rite Aid pharmacy and saw a lot of boarded up houses/decay. I hope things improve for all the folks that live there as there is definitely potential. 🙏

I agree that Niagara Falls has the potential to be something really special. You can see the potential and you get an idea of what it used to be.

A good, balanced look at the city.

Niagara Falls definitely have potential to grow and every town has a little hood area. that most working people will not want to go around or live.. it could become more than an attraction of the community and the government take the time to explore the area build more stores more restaurants, Create more job opportunities in the areas it could become something more beautiful than what it is right now.

Awe this makes me sad i grew up in several parts of Niagara falls including 74th, 35th and even 6th on rainbow....they for sure are all a different experience including school wise. I wouldn't trade it for the world though.

thanks for the video. I was thinking of buying a property on Whirlpool, up near the park close to the gorge, north of bridge street. I agree with you that Niagara Falls has a lot of promise, and a lot of great stuff already.

I'm here now and being from a major city you can tell the emphasis is put solely on the casino. North NF is damn near abandoned and looks like a gohst town, where as when you cross over to the Canadian side you can tell they built the area up.
