The first place my dad lived was on a street called Peacock Street in the first Ward that doesn't even exist anymore. If you read about the history of it along time ago the first word was wild, especially on a street called Dante Street. There was a lot of boat traffic and there was a lot of guys that used to like the girls in the area. The girls used to go down by the water. I won't tell you, but I'm sure you know mean. 😆 🌊💦

I was confused at first because the title says Niagara Falls, NY but then the starting of the video shows Niagara Falls, Canada lol. Is the area near the U.S. Falls actually the downtown? The downtown in Niagara Falls Canada is not the Clifton Hill area and people get that mixed up. Most locals here on the Canadian side avoid the Clifton Hill area because it is bustling with visitors, I myself love it. I need to go to the U.S. side more often

You have 3 cities in the Niagara Region (Canada) comprised of St Catharines, City of Niagara Falls and Welland. St Catharines and Niagara Falls have a Lewiston and Rainbow bridges and if you have NEXUS, the Whirl Pool bridge. Welland, Port Colborne and Fort Erie will use the Peace Bridge. Btw, Canadian banks have American branches that can help with mortgaging a home in the US. I think they’ll give 70% Loan to value but that may vary.

Wow never knew the blaine ave area was hamlin park. My whole family lives on blaine we own several houses and been there since the 50s. Im born and raised in dc so when i visit its always everyone knows you by last name😂. Its alot of history i didnt know. Alot of the older black families have passed and Canisius has brought up most of the block😢! So its changing the small town america vibe is almost gone on that street. Im glad my family is holding out because i know the property value keeps climbing. Always wondered why buffalo is so late with new developments. Dc and Baltimore are always building and pushing people further into the suburbs. Wish my second home could elevate a more quicker. Salute to your channel and you should come to the Dmv for some food reviews or even real estate. We have the seafood game on lockdown💯

I am a Buffalo native, born in Millard Fillmore Hospital. You should have shown Bishop Timon High School on McKinley Parkway. I graduated from Timon in 1967. My Uncle owned a bar and restaurant at 386 Abbott which later became Conlon's after he sold it. My sister was born in Mercy Hospital, my mother died there and my father attended South Park High School with Warren Spahn who later became a baseball legend. lronically, none of us lived in South Buffalo. We lived in Kaisertown. I got to Timon every day using the #31 NFT bus which ran from Broadway and North Ogden to the end of Tifft Street near the Lake, passing Caz Park, Mercy Hospital, and BishopTimon, crossing from Kaisertown into South Buffalo and eventually passing through Abbott-McKinley. You might have also mentioned TV journalist Tim Russert, who grew up on Woodside Avenue, just off Abbott Road and was proud of his South Buffalo hometown and spoke about it often..

Its good for getting you to work and home but if you want to go multiple places in a day it doesn't work. At one time Buffalo was larger in population than Toronto but unfortunately for Buffalo, the fortunes of both cities went in completely opposite directions. Buffalo was hurt by the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway which made the Erie Canal obsolete and subsequently, the Buffalo manufacturing base completely collapsed. Meanwhile, after the election of the separatist government in Quebec many banks/companies moved their corporate HQs to Toronto. Toronto also became a magnet for new immigrants coming to Canada and with them came entrepreneurial skills and ideas.

I was just in buffalo yesterday from Toronto. I had 2 and a half hours to kill with my girlfriend we couldn't believe how absolutely DEAD this city is. It felt like a simulation. the food scene is lackluster. shopping and points of interest downtown are virtually non existent. We came for a concert at the rec room. It's clear that this city is desolate. The thing you see the most downtown is places to park... TO DO WHAT?! I don't know call me ignorant but I just had higher hopes for the city. it's full of VERY abandoned buildings/areas and it just feels dull. Uptown in Toronto is more exciting and vibrant filled with things to do and places to check out compared to downtown buffalo. Also as a note.... WHY IS THERE A 3 LANE WIDE ROUND ABOUT WITH 0 TRAFFIC MARKINGS ON THE ROAD..... it's literally dangerous the city should be ashamed of that.
