This is the most Niagra Falls thing I have ever seen. For arguably one of the most well-known tourist attractions in all of Canada it is shocking how badly everything around it is taken care of.
@@leoseguin5761 Want an even bigger shithole? Come across the border to NF, NY. I live in a suburb of Buffalo, I'm slightly terrified of NF, NY. It's a casino, a nice park, two or three streets of decent businesses, and utter crap extending for miles. Oh, and Devaux. An island of nice in a sea of crap.
Does "The White Spot" restaurant chain still exist? I ate at one in Vancouver, the second worst meal I've ever had in North America. This was in the mid 70's.
i love the falls themselves but literally everything in the area just makes me sad, it took a legitimately beautiful area of nature and made it the most disgusting place that isn't even a nice tourist area its a sad place with a waterfall nearby
I would love to hear if Hilton reaches out after this, because the state of that room is pretty damn sad and they should be embarrassed. The suites should be perfect. They should be the most up to date styling, everything should work, and the balcony shouldn't be locked. Also, self parking should be included.
Seeing as their housekeeping staff was forbidden from going to their company picnic because they were understaffed and the rooms are full, I don't think you should expect much.
Given the state that the rest of the hotel was in, they might be starting to worry about the balcony straight up falling off the building if people go out on it. Wouldn't be the first time...
@@sirrliv I cant exactly remember if it was the Hilton or a different hotel on that street (although I do believe it was the Hilton) but I work in the area at a different hotel and earlier this month a guy threw himself out the window and died. Rumour is it was due to casino losses but ya. I can definitely see them closing easy access to outside because of semi common occurrences like that. Its awful that you would still be paying a balcony premium though and not be allowed to use it. Like at least remove the door and make it a solid panel without a handle
I can safely say this. Jake is hands down the best reviewer of ANYTHING. Period. I spent 20 minutes of my life listening to you describe a hotel room and it was fantastic. Well done.
I am by no means rich, but pre-pandemic times, when I would go on holiday with my other half, I would always save up for the best hotel and room I could afford. I can't even imagine the disappointment of someone saving up for a special occasion to stay here, and being greeted with this. I think the worst part is actually that it's the best room in the area - knowing that this is as good as it's gonna get for such a magnificent landmark.
Former Hilton corporate employee here. This hotel has had issues in the past with incorrectly honouring Hilton Honors benefits. Technically they should be offering the full continental breakfast for two and not limiting it in this was as a non-US property.
The sarcastic, "I get why they're doing this, Niagara Falls is incredibly dense and there really isn't any room for parking at all." While simultaneously zooming out to show approximately 7 taller buildings in an absolute sea of nearly empty parking lots.
@@devilselbow - That whole district is one eyesore. There are abandoned/boarded up attractions (i.e. the old tourist films they used to play at the amphitheatre down the street) that have been closed for years. The surrounding hotels and properties have large fields that haven't been properly maintained/cut regularly. And don't even get me started on the main street homelessness issue/the abandoned hotel where addicts are living out of just a few blocks away.
Gonna be honest, when this channel first launched I balked at it; I though "Oh great, TH-camr swinging his success around, showing off ultra luxury top dollar experiences that 99% of his viewers will never be able to even dream of having for themselves. The nerve of this guy!" But after seeing these episodes so far I've realized I had it all wrong. Every one of these mega priced hotels, cruises, etc. has been varying degrees of crap, and Jake has been shelling out the big bucks so we don't have to. So thank you, Jake, for taking the hits for the rest of us and showing that top tier vacations aren't nearly all they're cracked up to be.
I also am thankful to have a platform where I can voice my grievances of the hospitality industry. There are so many products out there that I have always been so confused on how they get away with it. I believe so deeply that the consumer should be as informed as possible and never accept what corporations give us. In fairness though, I am very selfishly getting to do what I love, which is traveling and trying new things. But if people care about my opinions and I earn the trust of all of you, then I am incredibly thankful! I'm glad you're enjoying the content and I hope you stay aboard!
@@BrightSunTravels Honestly, I think the biggest reason places like the Hilton here can get away with it is because the demographic they cater to don't understand realistic value; they've got so much money to splash out that they actually cannot comprehend what things are and are not worth. "$20 for a bowl of cereal? Is that weird?" Yes, yes it is. But they will never realize that because they have never had to worry about money in their lives. Meanwhile, us down in the proletariat and what little remains of the middle class look at that and choke because we know what we pay for what we need and likewise what we are not willing to pay for said things. That said though, I'm not exactly an anti-Capitalist myself. On the contrary, I think these hospitality chains are doing themselves a severe disservice by charging such absurdly vast sums for inferior service. By either reducing the prices to something more appealing to lower wealth brackets or using their inflated profits on maintenance, staff training, property improvement, etc., I think these companies could easily see their revenues multiply simply by doing better. Then again, in the current business climate of Late Stage Capitalism, short-term gains are all that matter and concepts like "Investing back into business improvement" make shareholders break out in hives. So they just scam all the money they can and walk away when it all tumbles down. Which has basically becomes the theme of your other channel recently, it seems.
*DEFINITELY NOT TOO NITPICKY* Every single “Presidential Suite” I’ve stayed in at Hilton properties have the same issues. Stuff that’s broken, worn down, and dirty. The last time I had this happen, we canceled the rest of our stay as the staff wasn’t willing to do anything to fix any issues. As we were leaving we walked by one of their other “lesser suites” and it was FAR NICER than their “Presidential Suite” smaller, but everything in the smaller suite was at least 5 years newer, the carpets werent worn out, and it was absolutely *spotless*. This is definitely a problem with the brand as a whole. A completely inexplicable one IMHO.
Buffalo native relocated to VA, here. Jake is 100% on his call of stay at Niagara-on-the-Lake and day trip to the falls! Niagara Falls has always been a bit grim outside of the Falls themselves.
So, I worked at a Radisson for a few years in the pastry department. Your complementary breakfast consists of pre-made place-and-bake frozen mini-danishes, and it looks like they didn't even bake them properly for how deflated they are, nor did they do anything to finish them (which even at a business-class hotel that was on its way out, we dressed these up with glazed fresh fruit and/or icing drizzles and chopped toasted nuts when we used them in the morning buffet because they're so sad as they are). A box of 120 pieces runs about $80 USD these days so your plate of pastries at most probably cost them about $6.50 USD to produce, including the berries, the muffin liner, and the (very minimal) labor involved.
Wow!!! $1600 and you get cold pastry items for breakfast? No complimentary tea or coffee? THAT right there would be the straw...great video!!!! Thank you!!!
Good for you pointing out all the broken things, dysfunctional design aspects, and Hilton just being cheap with things like bedding, toiletries, and the awkward Walmart refrigerator. So many travel reviewers are being comped their stays and hence their reviews are usually 95% focused on the positives. Please keep up the raw honesty and disclosure. Sadly giant hospitality companies like Hilton are focused on profits and their share price above all else and it shows. The only winners are the obscenely compensated senior management and other significant shareholders. Also sad is the giants have bought up a lot of the wonderful independent boutique high end hotels and largely ruined them forcing them into their corporate mold.
14:01 that breakfast menu was SHOCKKKING! Like omg those prices are absolutely insane. For a rachet hotel breakfast? come on. Oatmeal for $28? OATMEAL? 🤯🤯🤯
@NickCupolo breakfast for 2 aduts and 4 children cost my wife and her sister somewhere around 300 dollars with tax. I can't remember the exact figure but it was outrageous
That's what it was at The Doubletree on Lexington and 51st in 2005, I ordered a carafe of coffee, and a breakfast and it was $84.00, the coffee was $21.00 itself. So this isn't really that out of line.
IHOP Niagara Falls, breakfast for 2 adults and 4 kids cost approximately 300 dollars. The next morning they had a better breakfast for 60 dollars at a little family diner in Grimsby/Winona area just down the road.
That hotel feels like something preserved out of late 80's and never changed a thing. Anyway, looking forward for you to review any Aman hotels in the future.
Wow! We stayed at the other Presidential Suite (similar layout - just on the other side of the floor) back in 2019 and so much of this was true back then. So many things not working or not clean. Balcony (and whole room there in fact) was locked off. And the hotel wasn’t too helpful with offering any fixed, or any Keurig pods. We got it as a day-of paid upgrade, which was fun and fine value. But I’d absolutely not pay for this room. I always wondered if the other suite was similar, not surprised to see that’s the case. Great video though, thanks for sharing! Brought back a few laughs of a fun (but quirky) night.
Concur. Corporations are fleecing Americans as if the world was about to end. They’re responsible for the inflation that we’re continuing to deal with, as greed has taken hold in our country. These places just need to be completely boycotted until they go bankrupt. We shouldn’t tolerate this, PERIOD! I’d rather take my vacation at home than to pay some corporation several hundred dollars a night to SLEEP!!! I’m not really enjoying the room when my eyes are closed.
The falls themselves are very impressive and worth seeing.....for a day. No need to stay any longer. The rest of the town is one huge tourist trap full of overpriced "attractions" and mediocre expensive restaurants.
Yes! Like if you're going to NYC for anything, tack on an extra day to Buffalo and drive over to spend exactly one day at the falls. It's incredible, and taking one of the boat rides was a highlight of our year (and totally reasonable at like $20 each). It's a stunning sight that makes for a great day with a boat ride and afternoon stroll along the boardwalk, capped by fireworks in the evening. More than one day would be a stretch, and don't expect anything from the town.
Yes. I really enjoyed the boat ride. Then fortunately I drove over to the Canadian side and found a nice park to walk in. I went in for the day, I’d found an RV campground with cabins on a small lake about an hour or so from Buffalo to stay at. Was in New York near Buffalo for an event, and took a day to go to the falls.
I’ve worked in a hotel in Niagara Falls .A renowned chain of hotels.Since then I avoid hotels .Lots of cutting corners so cleaners Can achieve the quota of rooms to be cleaned . I was told each room is 40 minutes but they assigned up to 18 rooms in a 8 hour shift . So you can imagine the pressure on the cleaners !
Seeing that the casinos in Niagara Falls (I worked at both) have their fair share of people losing huge amounts of money, a lot of people become despondent and tend to "unalive" themselves by jumping. The stories I've heard from patrons at both casinos were unbelievable; lives ruined by losing their homes, savings, family even, but of course, they couldn't stop gambling even when they've paid a high price for doing so.
Another gem of a review Jake. We stayed at the Embassy suites down the street a few weeks ago. 100 CAD every night for valet parking after they told us our Suburban wouldn’t fit in the garage. Food everywhere was lousy and overpriced with all the fees they had. Best meal was the Burger King in the casino food court.
@@BrightSunTravels Took the family back in June. Our hotel was at best ok. However it was pretty cheap and FREE parking because we are rewards members, otherwise I think it was about $20CAD to park. We liked Zappie's pizza, it was good. I will say we were really hungry at the time so that may have played into how good it was. The falls are amazing though.
If you wonder why you are growing so fast just understand this number 1 your idea is a gold mine already number 2 your editing is superb number 3 your personality makes us feel like we are there staying the trip with you
The problem iwth Niagara Falls is once you spend 5 minutes looking at the falls going "Wow, that's a lot of water..." you're still in Niagara Falls and it sucks. Although the Butterfly Conservatory nearby is awesome. But, yeah... stay in Toronto and drive over for one day... half day.
I grew up in Buffalo and would go to the falls a lot. I love the Fallsview even though I've never stayed at the hotel part, the restaurants and lobby are really nice. Here is a hack; Did you know parking there is free if you scan your casino rewards card (which is also free)? When my family visits Canada we park there for free and walk to the falls, even if we don't spend money at the casino. Shh.. it's a secret
not sure how long since you've been but they've gotten rid of that years ago. momentum new management requires payment for parking even when you play, PAC cards are no more
As a Niagara local, I have always wanted to stay in the DoubleTree Niagara Falls, even though it’s not that close to the falls. This makes me think maybe I should just keep my dream a dream😭
I grew up in Fort Erie and worked at the Sheraton on the Falls or Sheraton Fallsview. You nailed why this room exists. Weddings. If it wasn't for weddings and the Casino this hotel might have to actually try. The problem is that all of the hotels in Niagara Falls are run by rich families whose sole existence is to milk every dollar from you. I worked there in 2008 and helped with a floor renovation. I learned recently from my friend who is still there that that was the last time they did hotel updates to rooms. 2008. Anyone wanting to go to Niagara Falls would be better served to stay outside the small tourist trap area and drive or shuttle in to see the Falls. You also avoid the tourist tax Jake was charged in this video.
It was Jake's dream as a high-schooler to stay in that suite. He finally did and it was a disappointment. This is a cautionary tale. Be careful what you wish for
Lesson I've learned over the years: you will NEVER find a hotel above "meh" in Niagara Falls proper. Run, don't walk, to Niagara on the Lake and surrounding area to find gorgeous boutique inns! So many high end accommodations with MUCH more value and satisfaction with what you pay for.
The last time I visited Niagara Falls, was in 2014, when I attended an academic conference held at Brock University. My room on campus was very affordable, and I took a 30-minute bus to Clifton Hill (which cost me next to nothing, and I was the only passenger, so it felt like my own private limo). Best Niagara Falls experience in terms of value for money. :)
When I hear people say the government shouldnt have the authority to create national parks/manage lands, I simply point to Niagara Falls as an example of why private or for profit entities should not have control.
People who say the government shouldn’t be allowed to create these parks have a sense of entitlement that makes them think that the private sector should be allowed to Fleece people for everything they can get out of them. Hilton is one such example. They’ve been allowing this hotel to fall into complete disrepair based on the fact that people will still show up at their doorstep based off a company reputation that no longer should apply. This should have been called Hotel 5 by Hilton.
My aunt now lives near Niagara Falls, a famous frontier attraction. She lives on the Canadian side and works on the American side. My mother visited her on July shortly after moving into the area. Lastly I received a pair of shirts my mother bought for me from the souvenir shoppe.
It's been a little over a year since I went to Canada for the first time, in Toronto as well as Niagara Falls before heading back home Hope to come back and see more of the Toronto area, the province of Ontario, and throughout Canada one day
So if you are going to the falls, try The Giacomo. My husband and I had a HORRIBLE honeymoon so we did a do over relaxing trip on our one year anniversary. It was SO lovely. Beautiful cozy room and AMAZING service. ❤️
We booked a stay at the Hilton in July 2023 for our anniversary. Booked the falls view room which was $500 + per night. The room smelled so musty and moldy we couldn’t even stay there. Tried to get a different room and they didn’t have any available, so we had to change hotels. They were not going to refund our money. We ended up having to stay at the super 8 motel as no other hotels had any rooms available at such short notice. They charged us for both nights and we didn’t even stay there one night! After many emails and phone calls they finally refunded our money. I would never book to stay at the Hilton there again!!
As a youngster in the early and mid-1970’s we’d sometimes go to the Falls and stay on the NY side, usually at the same motel. Even then the room was smaller than the small motels we usually went to on most vacations and long weekend trips…that was the only room in which I slept on the couch, not that I minded. But my dad probably paid well under ten bucks. Besides the spectacular falls, part of the charm was just how gaudy and chintzy everything was, though the Canadian side was nicer, and I’ll never forget those stays.
Hey, cool to see, I am from Thorold, I used to go to the falls every Sunday evening in the summers to cruise with my buddies up and down Clifton Hill. So many memories!!!! I also got to party in a junior presidential suite at the Embassy Suites on the 43rd floor on Newyears Eve. Looking right at the big outdoor festival below and the Skylon Tower!!! I was also employed as a Valet driver at this same Hilton in the early 2000s. Got to drive sooo many nice vehicles!!!
Traveling tourism is my life. I love to travel and do so over 100 room nights per year, I also made it my career. I currently work in tourism destination management wherein I'm very much aware of what not only a room night cost but the city itself, taxas, dining averages, airport transportation Etc. You figure these things into the property itself and there is no way the Hilton deserves four stars. The problem is the stars are not based on a guest's experience. There's a whole mathematical schematic outlying how many elevators for how many rooms for how many floors per... well you get the idea. When I worked in yield management at InterContinental Hotels based in Manhattan I probably had countless chances to go to Niagara Falls but had no wish to see a horribly overbuilt tourist spot which actually was the reason for the NPS to provide restrictions and laws on our national parks and attractions. Niagara Falls just like vegas, or literally the stuff that I have an idea what the fifth ring of hell would be. I've seen the most glorious falls on this planet and none of them have overbuilt ugly hotels with parking lots surrounding them. Also, working in yield management I'm very much aware of what penthouse suites go for and rarely does any individual pay for even a single room night. These are booked for corporate events and even gifted to celebrities. They are used for photo shoots and interviews in the day and usually flipped before that night so they can sell the room night to some schmuck. With a dilapidation of this property and suite I would probably pay $600 rack, but that's with the balcony door that opens. I assume security wasn't on it some nights and someone threw things off the balcony and that's the reason the balconies are now locked down but this suite..... without the balcony... maybe $200 and I'm checking out the next morning. First time catching your videos and channel on my feed and I appreciate your honesty and sarcasm! Tourism is a trap for most but a traveler can always find a good experience. Niagara Falls and Hilton Hotels are not on my bucket list, but thank you for helping me roll both out!
Gotta love the negativity in these reviews. So many other reviewers would try to sweep it under the rug and put on a smile, but here's Jake making a list of what sucks. Far more important than what few positives you might encounter.
I have no idea how this particular Hilton hasn't been kicked out of the brand. Every room is in disrepair. Nothing works. Elevators are always off line and customer service is usually a shrug. The Hilton brand is damaged by this property. The best fallsview rooms in Niagara Falls are at The Embassy Suites across the street. Bit the fact remains that if you go to Niagara Falls, you will be gouged and you will feel disappointed. Mark Twain wrote an essay about his visit to Niagara and everyone should read before they go themselves. Although some of the attractions have changed, the sentiment remains the same.
I have very fond memories of visiting the falls as a kid, so last summer I went with my husband and baby for a weekend trip and damn… Niagara Falls has not held up. It feels run down, dirty, and full of American chain restaurants and run down carnival games. We stayed at a B&B in Niagara on the Lake and I am so grateful we did - it’s miles and above a nicer town to visit than Niagara Falls is any more.
As a Niagara Falls resident, and someone that worked in hospitality for almost 15 years (some of that time spent in this Hilton), I can comfortably say that anybody wanting to go to Niagara Falls should seriously reconsider. It's overpriced, dated, unappreciated, and a tourist trap. If you want to come to see the falls in their glory, get a cheap air bnb, go see the falls, and leave the next day. You'll save money, time, and frustration. I can see Niagara Falls in the next decade or two becoming an abandoned ghost town, because I do not see how it can be maintained in its current state.
We were there last February 2024 and I noticed that it looked extremely dead. My waiter told me that since they opened up the new casino in Woodbine everyone goes there now. It’s a lot cheaper there than paying the ridiculous prices that Niagara Falls charges. Plus their fake Niagara Falls tax.
The last time I stayed at the Hilton in Niagara Falls it was still only a single tower and there was a huge pool with a big waterslide and a cool waterfall. It certainly has changed over the years. My favorite hotel in Niagara falls is the Sheraton because of it's location right on Clifton Hill.
My favorite Ontario tourist site is walking around Niagara-on-the-Lake and then heading over to all the wineries and buying ICE WINE which in my opinion is the greatest Canadian export. Seeing the "Falls" is great, but it's almost too "touristy" while heading to the wineries is great fun!
Niagara Falls used to be one of my favorite yearly trips. It’s so depressing to see what it’s become. I can’t believe you can’t even find one high end room there anymore.
I've lived in Niagara falls from 1990-2011. During that time I worked at the Hilton, the Marriot and Sheraton falls view. The three major hotels in that small area. Can confirm the places are I deed sh*tholes. Severely understaffed and over worked employees. In the office season they lay off 95% of employees and the entire town is on EI. they cut corners and use bandaids on literally EVERYTHING. I've lived all over Canada from British Columbia to Quebec and by far Niagara falls was the worst time of my life. The struggle is unreal!!!
In 2019 my wife and I stayed at the Embassy Suites and we loved it. Our room had an incredible view of the falls that we could see in bed just by raising our head. The view was actually better than on the hotel website (and our photos didn’t really capture it either). If it wasn’t for the pandemic, we would definitely have already gone back. I think there was so much to do - don’t miss the Whitewater Gorge and the Spanish Aerocar over the whirlpool, and Niagara on the lake. We skipped Clifton Hill, the Casino and Skylon Tower (though I would have liked to try that). To be honest my wife dragged me but I am a convert, it’s incredible in spite of the best efforts to junk it up.
Niagara Falls is the most touristy town that doesn't want any tourists to be there. Everything is overpriced, and not by a little bit. Many places add a tourist tax, that is only a price gouge, and not actually a tax. Service is terrible everywhere, and finding anyone who works anywhere in the city who works in the tourist industry who actually is friendly and service oriented is near impossible. The falls are impressive. If you go there, visit the falls, but don't stay in the city, or seriously take in any other attractions. Stay in Niagara Falls, and it'll be the most expensive, most disappointing vacation you'll have ever taken
So, you had a membership and the best they could offer a gold member AND someone staying in a $1500 room is some frickin bread and berries?! That is highway robbery!
You can fly to Vegas, stay in a high end hotel, all you can eat, get some free comps and have money to gamble. Valet parking is free, they leave a couple bottles of water in your car. The rooms are always up to date & spotless. You didn’t mention Niagara Falls charges a tourist tax on food and hotels. I lived in Niagara and always argued the tax, it’s illegal to charge it and I would show them the newspaper article they did stating they cannot force that bogus charge.
Let’s be honest, the kinds of tourists that would go to Niagara Falls for vacation are probably not used to the finer offerings in life, and therefore they’re just so happy that they’re in a “suite” that they’re willing to overlook a lot of the faults. And Hilton knows that.
Appreciate your honesty in this video! If this is supposed to be "The Most Luxurious Hotel Suite In Niagara Falls" - it definitely falls flat...and at that PRICE?! No thank you.....
I was excited to see this video on my feed cause every upload from your channels are amazing. I’m surprised this video came out two days ago without me seeing it. Hope this hits the recommendation of other people cause this deserves more views. Keep it up bro love this extra content!
This resembles modern Canada, once nice and progressive, it is now broken and decaying. The beautiful nature saves the day slightly but you need more than views to live comfortably.
Prices sound about right for Niagara sadly, everything is so absurdly expensive there edit: I do vouch for Niagara-on-the-lake though, such a beautiful area with some neat attractions.
For something so expensive, they should be ashamed charging so much for what feels like quantity over quality. Just no. The state of that suite made the price so offensive.
Great review! I've stayed there and I agree with everything Jake said, however, to me the lobby is much worse than Jake alludes to. It is very institutional and I actually thought I'd walked into the wrong building and was at a convention center or an office tower!
amazing job! you got me so curious, I've spent the last 5 hours researching about/ around Niagara falls NY/ CA now I came back to comment, I learned about the strange highways and their history (Niagara/ Robert Moses parkway), the love canal, the awful urban renewal failure that decreased the population to half, learned how the casino tribes work with the government/state/city and land which is incredible odd and sketchy.. and at the end of it I'm just so amazed.. it still feels to me like this is some fantasy place, its unreal how some parts are so nice then so incredibly shitty, and it seems like they had endless options, potential to create a great little metro area, and they just botched/ ruined every opportunity by slowly killing the city and tearing it apart.. also speaking more of the NY side in this, however some can be applied to the Canadian side too, it just feels to me when I look at it like no other place I could ever think of lol. its like an extension of buffalo that is all randomly chopped up with heavy population in some spots then large empty areas/ blocks in other spots looking like Detroit.. strange place, anyway I loved the video and you sparked my curiosity and I learned a lot so thanks, and have a good one!!!!!
Thank you for the honest and in depth reviews! More people need to do it like this. I’m so excited for more of these videos but I’m sorry the suite was overall disappointing! Thanks Jake & Emi for taking us along
I grew up in WNY, only an hour's drive from Niagara Falls. My wife & I actually stayed at the Hilton in NF, Ontario for our honeymoon on "SED" (somebody else's dollar, in that case my sister's). We didn't stay in the presidential suite, but she did get us the honeymoon suite, which had some nicer features like a large jacuzzi tub and a view of the falls. We decided to try Brasa, having never tried a Brazilian steakhouse before. We both thought the food was exceptional, but it did take some getting used to how they served it. I suspect that may have been a big reason for the lower rating. If you're not familiar with a Brazilian steakhouse, you don't order just one cut of meat like at a regular steakhouse. Instead the waiters walk around with various meats that have a sword running through them like a skewer. You're given a card when seated that has a green side and a red side. If the green side is facing up, the waiters will stop and tell you what meat they're carrying. If you want to try it, they'll use the sword to cut you off a piece right there and put it on your plate, and then continue on. If the red side of the card is facing up, they'll just skip your spot. Then there's also a buffet that acts like a traditional buffet. Overall I thought our stay at the Hilton in Niagara Falls was decent enough, though to be fair it was our honeymoon and paying attention to the small details of the room or the food wasn't quite the top of our priorities.
Loved this review. I was considering booking a room like this at HILTON MEADOWVALE for a birthday or a vip day for clients. Not sure now about that. I appreciate this review because I have been searching for real life reviews and video footage by guests, not the hotel. I definitely would have been dooped if I went with this option. I would love to see a review for HILTON MEADOWVALE Mississaga One room and Meadovale suite. By the way...Sterling Inn at Niagara Falls was great!
And this confirms to me why I always drive to Niagara on the lake for some fine dining, and also the parking is truly insane considering the Marriott not too far away is like $35/day for self parking and the room did not look as dated
This had me laughing like a loon! I live in the area and once upon a time 20+ years ago worked for an agency babysitting in the hotels. I was in an elevator at the Hilton when the 2003 blackout hit. (Thankful for the generators!) None of the hotels are worth it. Id day, pick your favourite brand and cross your fingers. If i had to stay anywhere, itd be at the casino.
Niagara Falls, Ontario seems to have quite a range of hotel experiences, and this one is definitely an eye-opener! 😲 The Hilton suite had potential, but those maintenance and cleanliness issues are a letdown for sure. And the prices? Yikes! 💸 It's so important to get what you pay for, especially for a luxury stay. Kudos to you for keeping it real and sharing these honest experiences! Looking forward to more adventures and reviews. 🌟🌍
90% of Niagara Falls is a dump and a rip off. The Falls themselves are amazing, the city not so much. Stay in Niagara on the Lake and do a day trip. You'll be glad you did.
This is the most Niagra Falls thing I have ever seen. For arguably one of the most well-known tourist attractions in all of Canada it is shocking how badly everything around it is taken care of.

Most definitely 👍
They LOCKED the Balcony!?!? If that’s not false advertising, I have no idea what is
Given the state that the rest of the hotel was in, they might be starting to worry about the balcony straight up falling off the building if people go out on it.
Probably to avoid people jumping off when they realize how much money they just wasted on this mediocre, decaying room.
The amount of broken stuff in this "suite" is absolutely a reason to demand a refund.
@@jacksonvanveen800it looked like it was the Hilton... Same tower (the tallest one) I believe, though it's not as rare as one might think

A dated hair salon was the best description 😂. You seriously need to post more of these! These are my favorite hotel reviews.
I can safely say this. Jake is hands down the best reviewer of ANYTHING. Period. I spent 20 minutes of my life listening to you describe a hotel room and it was fantastic. Well done.
Ohh man, sad for you he is already in a relationship.

Stop the pandemik nonsense.
At this point I am rooting for someone not to let him down!
Definitely found a gap in the content creator market since all the top rated stuff is over-saturated.
Woah someones bitter
It’s Hilarious how savage Jake can get in these reviews 😂
It's one of the best parts! He goes from objective documentarian on BSF to "Why would a business do this??? It doesn't make any sense!!" On BST 😂

As soon as Jake said "liminal space hallway" I knew this was going to be SAVAGE
The whole place feels incredibly liminal space. 😂
It’s been that way since the leadership change. It’s one of those this is how we were and now we are just milking the brand till it dies.
Buffalo native relocated to VA, here. Jake is 100% on his call of stay at Niagara-on-the-Lake and day trip to the falls! Niagara Falls has always been a bit grim outside of the Falls themselves.
Or Lewiston if you want to stay in the US side.
That is depressing.
Also sad is the giants have bought up a lot of the wonderful independent boutique high end hotels and largely ruined them forcing them into their corporate mold.
holy sh*t... you got FLEECED! I wonder how the Hilton PR folks would feel if they saw this. you might get a very nice discount off your next stay...
14:01 that breakfast menu was SHOCKKKING! Like omg those prices are absolutely insane. For a rachet hotel breakfast? come on. Oatmeal for $28? OATMEAL? 🤯🤯🤯

Stayed at the Hilton last year and this review is spot on. I preferred it way back in the day with its original pool, it has since lost all its charm.
yes! the original pool
I actually choked on my food when you mentioned the 18 dollar cold cereal... wtf is that price????
This is the same reason I don't go to Las Vegas anymore either. People should stop paying these crazy prices. Thanks Jake 👍
I’ve worked in a hotel in Niagara Falls .A renowned chain of hotels.Since then I avoid hotels .Lots of cutting corners so cleaners
Can achieve the quota of rooms to be cleaned . I was told each room is 40 minutes but they assigned up to 18 rooms in a 8 hour shift . So you can imagine the pressure on the cleaners !
I can't wait for the margaritaville Cruise video your cruise content is my favorite thank you for making my day just that much better.
That’s the other thing, too, I have lived there all my life and I still haven’t been able to find a good restaurant

$18 for cold cereal??? They can F**K right off with that level of daylight robbery.
Shh.. it's a secret
not sure how long since you've been but they've gotten rid of that years ago. momentum new management requires payment for parking even when you play, PAC cards are no more
I have been to Buffalo and Detriot.

I love Jake’s brutally honest reviews!
As a Niagara local, I have always wanted to stay in the DoubleTree Niagara Falls, even though it’s not that close to the falls. This makes me think maybe I should just keep my dream a dream😭
That parking cost is just INSANE. Cool to see honest reviews, paid out of pocket.
It's nice seeing Jake doing another ADR. I was waiting for him to flip up the mattress and check for bed bugs and blood stains.

I always look forward to your videos on either channel. Beautiful documentaries 👍🏻
I look forward to more cruise content as well
That Hilton suite, oh my God, so much beige and not a single other colour.
Jake should have been paid to stay in that mess.
SO glad I found your channel- really love how thorough and detailed your content is! Thanks for sharing!
People really believe this guy? Wow!
It was Jake's dream as a high-schooler to stay in that suite. He finally did and it was a disappointment. This is a cautionary tale. Be careful what you wish for
more like this is a cautionary tale. Don't have dreams in Niagara Falls. You will be sorely disappointed.
Mount Rushmore is really dorky too.
My aunt now lives near Niagara Falls, a famous frontier attraction. She lives on the Canadian side and works on the American side. My mother visited her on July shortly after moving into the area. Lastly I received a pair of shirts my mother bought for me from the souvenir shoppe.
It's been a little over a year since I went to Canada for the first time, in Toronto as well as Niagara Falls before heading back home
Hope to come back and see more of the Toronto area, the province of Ontario, and throughout Canada one day
So if you are going to the falls, try The Giacomo. My husband and I had a HORRIBLE honeymoon so we did a do over relaxing trip on our one year anniversary. It was SO lovely. Beautiful cozy room and AMAZING service. ❤️
As an Aussie i appreciate that Jake is including the currency conversion for us on the other side of the world 😂
We booked a stay at the Hilton in July 2023 for our anniversary.
14:04 $29 avocado toast?! 🤣💀
$18 for cereal? Yeah, only if they bring in a cow and get my milk directly from the source. 😊
Love the slight jab at MarineLand 😂
I particularly wondered about the piece of art(?) that looked like a front loading washer! 😀
I saw that too! What in the hell is going on with that??? I guess it’s a subliminal message that your pockets are about to be cleaned out.
You should have contacted the guys who make videos on abandoned spaces for ideas on how to get onto the locked balcony. :-)
These are my favourite videos to have on while I study so when Jake calls out the hotel it’s quite funny
Totally agree!
Niagara Falls used to be one of my favorite yearly trips. It’s so depressing to see what it’s become. I can’t believe you can’t even find one high end room there anymore.
Niagara is a tourist trap and has been for a very long time. Your advice on stay anywhere else and just drive in for the day is the best advice.
This vid sums up the Niagara falls experience quite well 😂
Niagara Falls is the most touristy town that doesn't want any tourists to be there.
You and Emmy could start staying in cute, old world village vibe places. I can’t be the only one who should absolutely love that 😊🖤
Wow the timing, I'm flying to Toronto today and visiting Niagara Falls tomorrow
The vintage hotels at Niagara-on-the-Lake recomendation is excellent.

I love watching your videos Jake. So well done! Keep up the good work.
Prices sound about right for Niagara sadly, everything is so absurdly expensive there
edit: I do vouch for Niagara-on-the-lake though, such a beautiful area with some neat attractions.
That was a pretty humorous overview of the area, honestly might be a great commercial in itself to avoid Niagara Falls
That's definitely what I got out of the video + comments. We're going there next summer, and I'll be staying at Niagara on the lake.
4:45 The abandoned concrete foundation has apparently been covered by the large white boards yesterday, and I wonder what does it mean?
(Thankful for the generators!)
None of the hotels are worth it.
Great job, Jake. I look forward to your reviews!
