    Let me know if you have any questions on recovery or any other general questions to do with the hysterectomy. Anything that I haven't covered, I'd be happy to do a video on any topics I haven't covered. Do comment, like and share ahead if you find my videos useful.

      Is laparoscopy better or open surgery for hysterectomy

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kannameesala203 Your doctor is the best person to give you advice on this. It all depends on your medical history. I had a bikini line cut as I had a lot of scar tissue as I had 3 previous c-sections. Laproscopy is less invasive and the recovery is faster for sure. However, you still need to take good care post op.

      Hello! I am also Indian! I am having a hysterectomy for adenomyosis and excision surgery for endometriosis soon. I am wondering what ither types of foods you ate the first week or so that helped minimize gas/reduce risk of additional constipation. Would you recommend khichadi? Or is rice going to cause more bloating? I'm assuming soups, toast will be good... Would love to hear specific food items that worked well for you.

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andvari03 Generally, have foods with high fibre. This will help you with you bowel movement. So always keep in mind drinking plenty of fluids and water and fruits like pears and apples with skin on, and bananas. Khichadi unless you put in lots of vegetables won't help particularly with your bowel movements. Spinach, broccoli and green peas should be good for you too. All the best with your recovery.
      Hope this helps

    Learnt to let go and take help from the family members and give time to yourself to recover.
    I am so independent that taking help from others is like a punishment for me......but your advice is really really helpful for me.

    I had a total hysterectomy for multiple reasons..I felt wonderful the day after..After 2 days I didn't need pain meds..I left the hospital in 3 days..After 1 week I began simple excersise..I think because I was in such awful pain before surgery any post op pain was nothing

      @shoneesworld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, I too had the same. No painkillers soon after I had surgery because the pain before the surgery must have been pretty bad.

    Hi, Thank you for sharing. Since you have had previous c-sections, did you have adhesions? if so, was it challenging to proceed with the hysterectomy?

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey
      I probably had adhesions and that was the reason they did a horizontal cut rather than key hole surgery. I had no complications thankfully. Wishing you the best.

    BTW what foods did you eat after the op?

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  ปีที่แล้ว

      I stuck to my usual diet which is home cooked Indian food. Lots of veggies and some protein as well ensuring that lots of fibre was in my diet.

    Hii mam, may I know.. When did you start exercise after hysterectomy. Actually I am gaining weight after my hysterectomy and it's been six months. Should I start to do exercise for my lower body

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should check with your doctor. They should have advised you. I was definitely back at the gym after six months. But nothing too strenuous. In fact, I had my surgery in end March and was cycling by September.

      Hi Karley,
      I can't answer that since I've never done it myself. But I'd avoid doing it if you are getting bloated with water alone. Wishing you a speedy recovery. x

    Hi i have big fibroid..but my period is ok..not much but painful..what will i do?

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should take the doctor's advice. If they recommend surgery you should have it because the fibroid will probably be squeezing your other organs. However, best to get expert advice as I'm not a medic. All the best.

    Hi very informative video. I am going to have my hysterectomy this month end. What type are comfortable post operation and you had any vaginal discharge or bleeding post operation

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was fortunate not to have any fresh blood post op but I think you may get some brown old blood discharge for a few days. Nothing to worry about at all. Best of luck.

    @Shonee's World mam I have one query
    My mother had her hysterectomy and ovary removal a year ago,but now she's having pain in her ovary part stitches
    Will you pls let me know what she should do
    And what daily diet she should take
    Her age is 48 yrs

    • @shoneesworld
      @shoneesworld  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. If she's having pain around the stitches area she should consult a doctor.
      2. As far as diet is concerned, consult a nutritionist if she's concerned. I'm planning to do a vlog soon on my channel to address the food/nutrition question many people seem to have. If you subscribed to my channel and clicked on the bell icon you will be notified when I post the next vlog on this subject. Wishing your mother all the best.
