I personally have this setup that being the 3050ti 1200p model and the xg mobile dock...I have to say its not for everyone and I think ASUS understands that its not for someone who is looking for the ultimate value for dollar mobile setup but rather the most baller mobile setup with touchscreen high refresh rate etc. YES 3400$ is a lot of money for a computer but if you have it and this is your dream setup go for it!

I'm thinking of replacing my aging workhorse 2-in-1 (lenovo thinkpad X1 tablet gen 2), and looking at the options in that space nowadays (Surface, other tablet-form lenovo), the situation looks dire. They usually only have two USB C ports (I need at least one USB A for my unifying dongle), possibly no 3.5mm jack, and the absolute worst: no micro SD slot. I'm eyeing a much lower specced Flow Z13 (the one without the dedicated GPU, which lowers the whole price to 900-1k USD). I don't mind at all the performance hit (since I don't really game on my laptop anyway), but I don't know how ASUS' built quality is and how good their pen/stylus is
@@bhaskararaka I've had the x16 for about a year now and have liked it a lot. Great build quality, no glitches. Touch and pen work great. (My recollection is that a pen didn't come with it but I already had a Surface pen that works well.) The x16 is a little bulky, but still easily portable. (I use it mostly in a home multi-media studio but also bring it along when I teach classes.) I need a decent gpu for multimedia projects. I don't really know much about the z13, but the x16 has given me a good impression of Asus.
sure you can pick up faster systems at cheaper price. All those systems will also break you arm when you pick them up and always needs to be plugged in. It is not really news that from the beginning of time we have always paid more for portability at the sacrifice for performance. This will not change in my lifetime and probably will not change in yours. Compared this to a surface pro 8 and all of a sudden, you look at price and you go, wow, this is very reasonable. Your other comments on the tablet, I 100 percent agree you are on point.

The answer is very simple, no I would not buy this for professional gaming As for max settings, what do we mean about this? Actual max settings? all setting dialed to 100? If that is the case, this is not the device for you either. The RTX 3080 in the egpu encloser is really a GTX 3070. Can you play on high settings yes you can but don't be fooled to say you are going to be playing on max. If you are looking to spend money on a laptop that is "pro gaming" and to be able to play at max settings there are lots of other options available. If money is not an issue for you, Origin laptops are great. But the laptop this channels recommends over this tablet, when it comes to value, is on point
Great video. I have read that the thunderbolt port in the eGPU slot is fully functional. So it has 2... Also, I have very few thunderbolt accessories but found this interesting.
I almost bought it but...it lacks a separate pgup/down keys and that battery...my friend had it running for TWO hours, as if it was a refurbished old laptop with a high battery wear level. Very disappointing.
I don't understand the test using 3d Mark Time Stpy at minute 6:08. Is Flow Z13 behind ROG Zephyrus G14 when it comes to "certain" performance? I thought it was supposed to be better at everything.
I think I'll buy it like, two generations later. For now I take X13 as a better choice. That 12900 it carries is good, but it's usually thermal capped and performs no better than 6900HS.
I thought the same. It's a working machine for me , never getting the xg dock. But for the size and weight both the x13 and z13 are unmatched and worth the premium for me . Was looking at the Ryzen 6000 series x13 As a 'real laptop' . 1700 eur here , for a 16gb 1tb 3050 (non ti) model. But it's not going to be sold until October/ November 2022... (Week 45 Asus NL told me ) . While the Intel i9 16gb 1tb 3050ti z13 is available right now for (eek) 2100 EUR . I would've loved the Ryzen one. But not going to wait until the end of '22 for it .
@@jorismak Nah no way even the older x13 is faster than the new z13 because of thermals and the z13 cpu caps at 20watt once you start using the graphics card (3050ti). so actually the older x13 gets better frames.

My remark was that one was available right now and the other one not till October, and then you might have to fight to get in the limited supply . Btw, all reports say the x13 runs hotter than the z13 (which doesn't even hit 80c after hours of full gaming load ) so I'd be a question or which and what is throttling. It's true the Ryzen CPUs will run faster when POWER limited , which is the case when gaming on the machine . But it'll be the gpu holding you back in both cases so i don't think the performance is going to differ. I'll find some x13 Ryzen benchmarks to compare against my z13. All I know is I'm happy with my z13 and the performance it gives , while I had been waiting for at least another 6 months to get a x13.
@@jorismak The performance does differ though i have seen it first hand. The x13 gets about 9-10 frames on most games over the z13 simply because once the GPU on the z13 kicks in the cpu is only using about 20watts where as the ryzen on the x13 is far more efficient. The z13 has basically a capped 12th gen cpu thats kinda being held back on purpose to lower thermals.

If Asus do make a new model , they should use the upcoming Intel 14th gen with ARC 128 EU's at 2.1GHz + LDDR5X 8500MHz RAM (yes it really is that high) and make the keyboard wireless which would be amazing when docking this to a TV.
I agree, really love the concept and a great laptop / tablet that is the future. It lacks a few features but I believe the compact design and power required limit this at this time. So get more power somewhere when you are on the go. As a desktop / laptop wow .. When used as a tablet im aware of the time and type of work being performed. I use this for CAD drawings so It is fun and comfortable.

What kind of content do you create? The Surface Pro 8 does have better stylus support, but for all other content creation needs than that, you're getting more power at a better price out of the Flow Z13!

problem i found with my 2022 asus g14 is that playin g even games like league of legends and capping the fps at 144hz, without using the igpu the palm rest still eventually creeped upto like 38 even more if intensive gaming. with this while you get the fps you also dont deal with the heat. spend some more dosh on the gpu for it then your laughing, not metling
Tbh I think it would be unreasonable to expect this to be the same bang for the buck as a laptop or desktop for performance. Its a different thing, its a tablet. So im getting this for example to have the best gaming tablet possible. I dont want to get a similarly prices laptop as thats a different type of device.

If you compare the price to other gaming laptops, yes... it’s overpriced for what you get inside... If you compare it with other Windows tablets (I suppose in this case, a Surface Pro), it’s cheap for what you get inside... I can imagine Asus might have had a difficult time trying to figure out what the best pricing for this machine would be if you think about from 2 different perspectives...😅
If they make a 14-inch OLED version (the current panel sucks, I've seen it live, it's pitiful, let's face it). With a bigger battery (since then the space is there), 56Wh not even 2 hours do you do with Google Chrome/Opera/Edge.... eating up all the resources with its awesome CEF or whatever, like GPU with DLSS/RTX eating watts like they are chips. Then damn these mini trackpads, it's so much space, why make a square. This tablet/laptop has always been a dream, however on 2000-3000 I expect quality. Another thing on a gaming PC 1TB is nothing, why put a chipset that supports max 1TB, so you can't expand...bhoo. Before they put a solution, they reflect or not.... If they play the saving game on 3000 euros people think 1000 times....

considering the price only downside is 16gb soldered RAM.. no option of upgradation or expansion as in compact form factor ✓ 16gb is not a future proof specification in many cases × must come with 32gb atleast ✓ Asus could include LTE ✓ 3 ms response time is only in paper but in reality writing experience on this tablet isn't that good.. palm rejection fails too often ✓ so basically petting a costly inconsistent giant ✍🏻
ASUS ROG has big issue with surface (swell and disappear). i have own experience with X13 . it is MISFIT !!! it would be nice to see, how the surface of this notebook/tablet will looks like after several months of using. NOBODY show you how does it looks like after longer period. DO NOT BUY ASUS ROG if you want to have good looking tool for linger than 1 year of using !!

There IS a second thunderbolt port that works. It’s in the e-gpu port… if you’re not using the e-gpu you have 2 thunderbolt ports.

In the form factor of a tablet, later this year a M1 iPad Pro running NMS and RE:V connected to external 4K display could be game changer.
M1 is not even a match to i7-1260P, and notice we are not talking about i7-12700H and i9-12900H.

@@rurrer my bad. In adult men, about 60% of their bodies are water. However, fat tissue does not have as much water as lean tissue. In adult women, fat makes up more of the body than men, so they have about 55% of their bodies made of water.
