Love the format, love the question. Though it's not really fair when you ask a bunch of 80/10/10ers how much fat we should eat. They are all going to hover around 10%. What about all the successful raw fooders who eat more fat? Like way more fat. I'm glad you had Lou Corona in there, but he didn't give a very specific answer.
I think when you go above 15% fat, there are problems until you reach into the 50-60% fat range where you aren't eating so much sugar and your body actually has a use for all that fat as an alternative energy source to glucose. You can't eat high fat if you are still eating high sugar.

      *****
Yea, that's pretty much what I'm doing at the moment. I've been on high fruit for years, so it's kind of fun to switch things up ;)
***** Haha thanks ;) Someone's gotta police this town ;) I've read a ton of books from both sides, vegan and paleo to see what their arguments were for and against each other. Pretty much everyone agrees that you can be on a high carb diet if the fat is low, and a high fat diet if the carbs are low. Your body will become very efficient at converting either one to energy, but doesn't like to do them both because they require entirely different enzymes.

***** Yea, I think you can do it mostly fruitarian. That's what I'm doing, it digests the best. In fact, if you were living somewhere where the fruit was super high quality, you might not need any of the vegetables or seeds.

John, I love your testimonial of how raw food saved your life including sharing about your skin disorder. I cried with you because my own poor brother Jon who's 18yrs. younger then I, was born allergic to everything. Our mother and his father would be provided all kinds of medications for his skin. When he was a baby, my grandmother would alter his sleeves shut so he wouldn't scratch his skin. At one time, I remember his fingers got through and he scratch himself so hard he was bleeding all over. All throughout schools he was bullied for his condition. At 21 he has had a bad case of psoriasis. Also, he has bad allergies. His diet has been nothing but French fries, bake potato, and chips. All his life he has been scared to try anything different to eat due to possibly making him sick. If you could encourage in anyway, I would appreciate it greatly. God has allowed me discover this lifestyle, but you open my eyes with your pass condition. Thank you for sharing. I will be passing the info to my brother in hope that he may grasp this Lifestyle.

Also if u wanna connect on IG or WhatsApp I like to have community w ppl and share food pics, tips etc. Either way, peace & health!

Glad you mentioned the cactus fruits in this video. I only recently started regularly using the juicer I have had for the last 10 years or so. I have wild cactus that fruit all around me and I look forward to juicing some this year when they are ripe. I guess I will have to find out if you can juice them with the skin on or take it off. I have no idea if the skin isn't good for you. I have eaten them for years but always skinned.

Im 53 5’5” 112. I dont know why but i hold 5more pounds if i eat more fruit and less fat. But when i take fruit down and increase chia my weight goes down. I also feel more grounded. I only eat chia and flax right now due to healing program. About 1/2 C per day in smoothies and salads. 65g fat each day i also have flax oil. Im less than 300 carbs of raw veg. I cant eat avocado or nuts, beans due to histamine. I also dont feel super hungry like at 10% fat. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess we are all different. Maybe the chia/flax omega 3 is agreeable to my healing at this point for some reason.

Great video!! I'm not yet raw, just clean eating so far but lots of fruits and veggies and getting more raw in there. I have noticed that I maintained a healthier weight when I was eating very little salt and fat when on a particular diet, but was missing out on fresh alive foods as it was a lot of cooked foods and I got sick a lot. Now I eat more alive foods but have added in oils and salts with my cooked foods - it tastes good and I haven' t gotten sick in forever but have put on some extra weight... seems like if I combined low salt, low fat, and more raw I could hit that happy point in both health and physique.

I eat more fats in the winter -sometimes I overdo it, but I am probably around 15-20% generally :) Sometimes less in summer. When I started I ate really high fat for the first 3 years and I felt awesome...but after going low fat, I can't ever go too high again heh. I really feel it when I do.
Love Kristina and Tim - they're good peeps :)

I love the compilation format with all the different opinions! :)
When I eat overt fats it's like the fat immediately gets stored instead of being used and I'm still hungry. I get low energy, headaches and other physical symptoms, don't feel well, gain weight... and I'm still starving dammit. When I keep it very very low-fat, this doesn't happen, I feel good and the food actually gets utilized. After seeing this video, I'm thinking maybe I'm one of these people who have a problem digesting or utilizing fat. :)

Great format but i got the feeling that some gurus got confused with the scale answering this question. At least it confused me :) Rick Dina hit the nail - fruits and vegs contain 5-15% fat (and protein!) naturally. So,when avoiding any nuts, seeds, oil, coconut, avocado etc you are already on about 10% fat or protein.
Are we talking overall fat per calories ratio or fat on top of the natural base amount in fruits and vegetables?

Thank you so much for this video! I would soak and sprout 5 to 10 pieces of almonds overnight if I had that tree. Would a mini indoor almond tree flower and fruit?

I think it also depends on your liver, if you need to detox liver you might want to stop all overt fat for a while.

What's wrong with fats, on a raw food life style? I'm referring to nuts, seeds, avocados? Why is their a limit? I thought healthy fats are really good for the brain to be able to focus?

I'm more high fat than most of these people. I have 2 Tbs. of flax seeds ground in my green smoothie, a handful of walnuts and 2 Tbs. hemp hearts in my salad dressing, then I have a banana-nut shake which has about half a cup of nuts, bananas, and possibly some greens. I eat about 2 lbs. of vegetables and over a pound of greens every day plus a ton of fruits early in the morning and also throughout the day. Raw fats are good for you, but I don't eat any concentrated fats like oils and other processed fats. I prefer whole food fats and I would guess that my fat percentage is probably between 30-40% on any given day. I don't think that under 50% is a problem. It's when you get above that where you may run into problems.
