    Totally agree with you Kristina. Juice in the morning and smoothies throughout the day. This doesn't mean that we are ignoring fiber as I can get plenty of fiber throughout the rest of the day. Cucumbers, carrots, apples and some greens don't cost an arm and a leg to juice so I'm not too worried about "wasting"money. It all is an investment into good health.

      or smoothies in the morning for the fiber, if you wanna poop. Then juice for the rest of the day. Simple

      I love both, but when I juice I feel like I'm tossing food out (the fiber) and I don't feel as full. I'm a bigger guy, so one of your 32 oz smoothies are more fulfilling.

      I like both! Especially citrus juices and celery, but not mixed lol. Only way to go with smoothies is with a base of coconut water, hemp milk, or almond milk if you want a nutty taste great for breakfast. Don't forget to add extra stuff like Glutamine and some granola for fiber

      Thank you so much for making the distinction between the two! I too was under the impression that smoothies were healthier due to their fiber content. It was fascinating to think of blenders as essentially "chewing" the food in a way that we cannot, making the nutrients more available to the body. It definitely increases my inclination toward smoothies.

    I love spinach smoothies. When you process it in a high speed blender for a couple minutes with fruit and water, it releases the naturally occurring thylakoids, which coat food and block the enzymatic insulin reaction in the stomach and allows the food to stay in tact until it reaches the intestines, where it can be processed as energy instead of stored as fat. Like a natural version of gastric bypass surgery.

    Great point about "chewing" and letting the smoothie/juice mingle with the saliva. So important but didn't even cross my mind. I'm going to do a 60 Day Reboot a la Joe Cross's "Fat, Sick and nearly Dead 1 & 2". The reboot is undeniable and I already love smoothies with kale, celery, pears, carrots etc and the fiber fills me up. BUT...I need that initial weight lose motivation that juicing will provide. I can already tell moving to a 70/30 raw to animal protein diet will be easily sustainable. As much as I am a carnivore, I enjoy fibrous smoothies just as much and they are very satisfying. I'm buying a juicer because I don't own one yet but I have a standard Oster 12 speed all steel drive blender and IT MINCES EVERYTHING! I cut watermelon into chunks and it liquifies it quite effectively. So, if any of your fans are on a tight budget, the Oster blender (with the glass carafe) does a great job and goes for between $27 to $37. Also, clean up is sooo quick because you're using just about all of it. Thank you Kristina and keep up the great work!

    There are nutrients bound to the fiber. Quite a significant number of nutrients are lost in the juicing process, what a waste. And why promote such a thing when the people are seriously lacking in fiber? 97% of americans are not getting the daily recommended intake of fiber!

    • @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep
      @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +jbmop yes many people lack fiber but fiber is not hard to add to ones diet. when you juice a plant you are literally making a extract. It is very potent much more than just throwing it in a blender. They both by far are worth doing and have their place.

    • @jbmop
      @jbmop 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WaterspoutsOfTheDeep In which case is it worthwhile? You're wasting fiber, and much of what you paid for. In either case, you can get more than enough nutrients with a proper balance of whole foods like greens, other vegetables, berries, other fruit etc.

    • @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep
      @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jbmop
      You are not wasting what you paid for. You are getting an extract. You'll feel less full but you;ll absorb more nutrients compared to if you blended it. I've heard upwards of 4-8 times better absorption. Yes you are wasting fiber but that is like saying you are wasting air. It's pretty plentiful. Like I said getting fiber in ones diet is not hard.
      Also it is much easier to get therapudic levels of nutrients in you juicing. You have extract pounds and pounds of produce and be able to consume it which you wouldn't be able to if you just ate or blended the produce. That is why juicing is far superior for health purposes. A person can eat a apple easily and or something else for fiber.
      But you don't have a juicer you can always blend your stuff extremely well then pour it in a jelly bag, or clean paint strainer bag or old pillow case and squeeze out the liquid. Juicing is a lot more work but is by far worth it if you are dealing with health issues.

    • @jbmop
      @jbmop 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +WaterspoutsOfTheDeep The whole idea of an extract is wasteful.

    I prefer smoothies on a daily basis. I tend to drink juices if I feel like I am going to be sick or when I want to just give my body a break. I make sure to still consume 2000 calories worth of juice. :)

    Wonderful Video!!!
    Luv that pretty sparkly blue top on U...
    Topic Beautifully Covered!!!
    I started out with a Juiceman Juicer years ago, used it a lot, then just quit...
    Never had anyone share my enthusiasm!!!
    Then in 2011 I got a Nutri-Bullet, for seeing
    David Wolfe's infomercial... Loved the film
    "Food Matters", where I was first introduced to David Wolf. As with my Juicer, I used
    the Nutri-Bullet a lot in the beginning but
    No One Shared my Enthusiasm, & the Next Thing I Knew I'd quit again... Back to Eggs, Toast, Butter, & Jam for Breakfast, & Back to Weight Piling On, Depression, None of my Cute Clothes Fitting, etc.!
    Lately, I'm finding Health Concious People Online, so the Juicer & Nutra-Bullet are BACK!!! Love that U use BOTH, instead of just one or the other!!! Love U'r Soul Shine Juice & Look forward to Experimenting w/ more of U'r Recipes!!!! Also, I tried U'r
    "BANANA NICE CREAM"... AWESOME!!!
    Now I don't feel deprived for giving up Dairy!!!!
    HOORAY!!!
    U'r "The Best"!!!

    I would NEVER go fully raw. I simply LOVE hot foods too much, like soups or stews on cold, rainy days or chilli with piping hot buttermilk cornbread on cold winter nights. Plus raw, organically grown foods are WAY too expensive. I do love both juices and smoothies, though. A strawberry banana smoothie is my all-time favorite. I'm also thinking of trying the Watermelon Juice Cleanse, once they're in season.

    Juicing is a LOT more expensive - My favorite juice is six cups of spinach, a cup of kale, three carrots, two cucumbers, a lemon, and an apple.
    I wish I wish I wish I could get used to smoothies, but it's a consistency thing - I just don't care for the texture.
    Maybe when I can afford fancy Vitamix... :)

    Smoothies fill you up, are healthy, easy to make, cheap...
    Juice doesn't even compete although it's obvious you prefer juice as you make WAYYYYY more juices than smoothies on your channel

    Yeah, Baby! After owning and rtidding myself of several juicers, I gotta go with smoothies and salute the late Gypsy Boots and The Nature Boys for bringing it on. Easy, healthy, and practical. Gotta have that fiber!

    Kristina I use a Breville juicer for my carrots and beets juicing and I love my Breville because it works well and I LOVE MY VITA MIX. Just bought a new one the old one burned up with smoke coming out of it. But, used it faithfully for 10 years I know some last 20 years but the 10 years before it never got used at all. One never should have an appliance and not use it as I did. Thank you for all that you do. I want and need to do more.

    I think a combination of both are your best bet. Ive done both, but if i had to choose one, or the other it would be smoothies, without a doubt. FullyRawKristina said it best in the Vid, that smoothies are more of a COMPLETE food. You can add nuts, seeds, soft fruit, like bananas, and avocados. Juicing reminds me of a very expensive, rush, or quick high, coffee. A smoothie diet, is a well balanced, slow release, diverse diet. Juicing is one demential. Not only that, if you where to stay on juicing for an extended period of time you will have to start doing enemas, b/c you will not have normal/regular bowel movements, b/c of lack of bulk Your body will also be full of toxins do to lack of elimination. She said in the vid, that "smoothies aren't all that natural either" I would think that many years ago before blenders, and juicers that people could still masticate their fruits, and veggies without a blender. I've done it by mashing my fruits, and veggies by had, and adding a liquid. I'm quite sure I'm not the first to do that.

    I just discovered your video and really enjoyed watching it. May I ask what you normally use for the liquid for smoothies? Coconut water, almond milk, water? I also loved your bracelets and rings. May I ask where you had bought them from? Thank you!

    Smoothies are far better. Juice has no fiber. Fiber regulates glucose levels from elevating. I’m quite strongly against juicing… It’s like cutting your credit card in half expecting it to work

    I've always done smoothies, but I'd like to give juicing a try. Can smoothies and juices be made ahead of time to save in the fridge and take to work? Or is it better to haul my blender to work with me and blend at lunch time? Ideally I'd like something fast, healthy, and easily portable for lunch.

    I prefer smoothies because juicing IS so expensive.. In the past, I've used my juicer more for medicinal purposes. It's more of a luxury when used otherwise. Thx for all of the tips!

  • @BEACHBALL56

    I prefer smoothies because they are tasty. The juicer has a lot of benefits but it is more time consuming and messy and harder to clean up. In the am I love to soak 1 tablespoon of chia seeds for about 15 minutes with one cup of distilled water, add about three frozen bananas, frozen or fresh fruits like grapes, any fruits. Then I add some, no no, Muscle Milk powder - 2 scoops, and top it off with one or more cups of coconut water. If you don't have a strong blender just let your frozen fruits soak for a few minutes or your blender might die. Also, if you don't have frozen fruit just add some ice to make it cold. All in all it is a good idea to have both a great juicer and blender. Do not waste your money on the magic bullet or the ninjas!

    I personally like Juice over smoothies. I have it stuck in my head that a smoothie has to be like a frappucino at Starbucks. I'm working hard to change those preconceived notions, but untill then, Juicing it is :-D
