For the record, there is absolutely no reason to be entirely raw. It is just as healthy and likely far more practical to consume whole grains and legumes cooked. Also, DO NOT use this video on your social media or video channels. You may share the link of course only but DO NOT upload it to your channels otherwise you will get a copyright strike eventually and may even lose your account or channel. I worked very hard to produce these videos and the last thing I need is somebody else beating me to shorts so they can lazily exploit my efforts. It's easy to share without stealing and violating copyright laws. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a beautiful day :)
While Karyn is a Beautiful example of this potential there are far more examples of people eating many of these foods cooked and raw. Going completely raw maybe challenging for some in certain zones especially without proper variety and time to do this right. Some foods are even more nutritious cooked such as carrots, tomatoes, et cetera and there is reason to believe that mushrooms may be safer cooked, and things like certain cruciferous vegetables potentially as well and even spinach as cooking reduces oxalates even though oxalates really aren't a problem unless you're doing a variety of other things wrong like drinking sodas and not staying hydrated and mono mealing which you should not be doing. Eating a variety of legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices is most ideal. And always consult your physician before making radical dietary changes. For many, like me, it doesn't require a radical change, I just stopped consuming animals and their secretions and just ate more of the things I was already eating. Many of the long time extremely awesome healthy vegans I have met throughout the years eat a very simple variety of these whole vegan foods. If in the event you find yourself having difficulties for some reason consider consulting a nutritionist, dietitian, or physician and ideally one that practices lifestyle medicine since that they practice evidence based nutrition. You may find a lifestyle medicine practitioner through the American College of lifestyle medicine, Love.Live, or Plantrician Project. And remember a vegan is a vegan because they don't want to exploit animals or hurt them in any way. So we find a way to make it work within the 10s if not hundreds of thousands of edible plant options to choose from. We find a way to make it the healthiest way for us, others, and the planet! Live long live strong in peace and love.

@@jillianlee8557 thank you for sharing and doing all you can to do what's best. This is really a vegan movement that we are talking about over here. Vegetarian's different in that they still consume Dairy which has health risks and is very harmful to the mother whose calves are taken from her So people can steal her baby's milk and ultimately abuse the baby in a veal crate and repeat the process exhausting The mother until she dies prematurely and then is fed to humans needlessly. But you're on the right track just keep learning all you can because health is true wealth And love conquers all.

I'm Vegan somewhere between 35 and 40 years and 17 of those years Raw / Live. I NEVER looked back. To me, it's the BEST lifestyle anyone could ever have. It changed my life completely. I saw Karyn in a Sunday Tribune Article and HAD to find out what she was doing and how she did it. I was amazed by her youthful glow and unending energy. I had been extremely ill, and extremely frightened by how ill I had become. You have no idea how terrifying it can become to be so completely debilitated by illness. . . . . and how amazing it is to watch it all fall away with simple yet profound changes to our diet and lifestyle. I gave all my pots and pans away years ago. You cannot cook at my house. Like Karyn, I sleep maybe 3 to 4 hours a night and I've done that for years. When your body is not a toxic waste dump you don't need hours of sleep to restore it. I call it a Magical Lifestyle providing us Magical Energy. I try to get others to raise their vibratory rate because it's easy to feel the energy of others once living this way. I say, 'Do Not Hesitate - - Just Do It!' You will not believe the difference proper eating makes in your world.
Every time I eat a meal I also Bless my Husband who made it possible for me to study and learn all this. I did it for us. I had been ill, and he developed a terrible brain injury which ultimately claimed his life almost 3 years ago. I never take for granted what I learned, or my choice to eat healthfully. My body is not a receptacle for the world's trash and junk.
    All Best To You!

Great interview! Karyn has so much life, personality, and eloquence that is just so delightful to watch. I loved hearing her unique insights; the story about "Trucker Hat Guy" showing kindness to her dog was very thought-provoking in its lesson about maintaining human connection amidst vast ethical variability. Her ability to engage with him positively despite his obvious bigotry is commendable. I especially appreciate her philosophy that we are all connected and have an obligation to care for one another as living beings, whether human or ant!
I'd have loved to see a deeper discussion on honey consumption, animal companion diets, the choice to abstain from vaccines/medical care as a vegan, and the vanity aspect, but those topics do tend to open a large can of worms and I enjoy that this channel focuses on the stories of interviewees as individuals without harping on specific ideas. Nonetheless, I'm itching to hear more from her! Definitely gotta check out her channel.
Edit: What an awesome tour! Every space of hers looks so cozy and welcoming. Wishing nothing but prosperity for her businesses.

And that's a thing too... She mentioned that when one eats meat they are eating the vibration of the animal... But some people want and feel they need that vibration... I know I'm much stronger when I consume a good steak dinner, and then, about an hour later go workout at the gym.... I'm lifting those dumbbells almost effortlessly. I notice a big difference in my workouts when I don't eat meat. Many athletes have won competitions and most wars have been won by meat eaters... So I'm not sure if that's the best argument for not eating meat... I say, live and let live. Thus far, consuming more vegetables (cooked and/or uncooked) and whole fruit or juiced in addition to consuming meat while eliminating processed foods and starchy foods has worked wonderfully well for me. My current goal is to exercise much more.

I was pescatarian before I went vegan. Fish are sentient creatures and they are gravely overfished. Furthermore they bioaccumulate environmental toxins in their fatty flesh. Farm-Raised fish are not any better in that when they are not in their natural environment they do not have the same fatty acid profile and tend to be higher in omega-6. You can get everything you need from a well planned whole food Vegan diet. So for example instead of depending on fish I simply use kelp granules, take a B12 supplement instead of getting it through the blood cuts and Gore of an animal that was supplemented, And for my fatty acids I get the alpha linolenic acid via my whole plant foods like chia seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, etc.

You can always sprout legumes and grains. But some foods increase in nutritional value when you cook them like carrots and tomatoes. And of course cooking tubers is ideal. You know she said it best she had no intention of ever back sliding. A lot of us do because of the people around us. Not because these family members or friends are awful or controlling but because it’s easier, because then you’re included, because then this stigma is removed, because then people are more comfortable with you. I have personally experienced that at least three times I went back. Not to the SAD diet but the Mediterranean diet I grew up with because that constant battle was instantly removed if I gave in. Plus the stress of constantly making two different meals three times a day while working 2-3 jobs 10-18 hours a day and try to stay up on the housework and raising my niece at the time who was getting picky about food so there might be three meals at a time and double the grocery bills and double double double. It all got to be too much. What it boils down to is compromise. When I met my partner who is very American and grew up on processed everything. She fell in love with my food whether it was vegan or the Mediterranean classics I grew up with. We had a rule when we were dating I said at home everything I make and buy is vegan. Out eat as you please. You want snacks and treats cool I will make you your own cabinet of things. You have your own spot in the fridge and freezer. That’s I think one way of living together with your partner or your family who isn’t vegan. You have to have ground rules so you don’t drive yourself crazy. Also prep, that I learned in college I always had a soup or pasta prepared, a big old salad, homemade dressings, and a fruit bowl. I was never hungry I would go in and grab whatever I needed for the day and go.

I hope you haven’t because it’s hard, but a lot of people have a number of reasons, it doesn’t make them bad people. Even Karyn said she consumes honey on occasion some would consider that backsliding, but she is a vegan icon. So I say we’re all on a similar path, and it’s no one’s place to judge. That’s her main message here everyone has an evolution you can’t force or judge. When you do people resist your knowledge and help. I know friends who swore up and down they’d never be vegan but years after me saying have you tried this or had that. You would love this. Magically they went vegan, on their own, no pushing or influence needed. You can show people what you do, be open, not judgmental and they will eventually surprise you.

We talk about it pretty thoroughly I thought. A lot of sprouting and I think she soaks nuts but I don't know how necessary that is. She sells a book on it. There might be recipes in that. I think she follows Ann Wigmore's approach. If I interview someone I met recently that does exactly the same thing I'll be sure to get deeper into what they eat and maybe video them preparing some foods. Like everyone else on this channel she eats legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each. However some of the living food people may be eating less fruits, ferment and dehydrate foods, And instead of cooking they sprout grains and legumes but mostly legumes and other things maybe less grains. Dr Baxter Montgomery does the same thing. Check out that video. Some people have different approaches to this raw/living food way of eating. It really comes down to the individual but I would be careful and just keep it simple. The science science supports eating legumes, grains, greens, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each and there doesn't seem to be any problem with these things being cooked. If you really want to get into it though check out Hippocrates Wellness. They may have some books. And it comes from Ann Wigmore as well

Avoid tannins around meal times from certain teas and coffee, be sure to add vinegar or lemon or lime or something with vitamin c to your dark greens and eat a variety of greens everyday, keep spinach to a minimum, eat baby spinach leaves and maybe cooked, using iron skillet, if you take a supplement they'll take it all at once but break it up into a few times throughout the day, try to reduce menstrual bleeding I think Dr Greger has some tips on that I'm not sure if it was turmeric or ginger... Seed cycling might help also. But the best thing might be to remove the fibroids. A uterine fibroid embolization work really well for my wife. One of the fibroids became necrotic pretty fast and caused a problem later but she had that removed pretty quick in the emergency room. She's better than ever now.

    • @VeganLinked

My wife was able to stay vegan the entire time for many years. It was tough though, the only time she veered away was trying oysters a few times. So worst case scenario eat some oysters once a week or so. But of course be careful of the source. And that's just worse case scenario. Ideally you would be able to stick with the whole plant food such as legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each. Chlorella might be a good iron source also. And if you can stomach it molasses. But adding vitamin c sources to your greens and maybe even to your legumes and other sources of iron should help absorb significantly more iron.
