The woman with the bike was actually pretty smart and courteous for using the same spot for her bike and her car. I live in a neighborhood where there are very rarely any available parking spots, and we often have to park somewhere else, so I think that keeping two vehicles in the same spot is pretty smart. Constantly taking a drink of water is actually a sign of nervousness. I think by not forgiving the Karen, the recipient of the letter (the motorcycle owner) became a Karen. IMO, her apology was sincere, although it was clear it was extended because she wanted the video taken off the internet. But by it accepting the apology, the motorcycle owner went on a little power trip and became a Karen herself. What would have been the harm in saying “I accept your apology and if you pay for the damage you caused, I’ll take the video down?” Easy peasy and she would have been the bigger person.

Here's what I think happened. I think the karen has seen the car parked with the motorcycle, and thought it was ok. She got embarrassed, when she was called out by the owner of the spot, and reacted like this. If she had just explained she made a mistake instead of karening out, this wouldn't have happened.

possibly, I think she saw the car and the bike parked there and then the woman leaving in her car and having the bike in the same spot to 'reserve' it and that bugged her - thats why I think she was banging on about keeping things in the parking spot.

I think by not forgiving the Karen, the recipient of the letter (the motorcycle owner) became a Karen.
IMO, her apology was sincere, although it was clear it was extended because she wanted the video taken off the internet.
But by it accepting the apology, the motorcycle owner went on a little power trip and became a Karen herself.
What would have been the harm in saying “I accept your apology and if you pay for the damage you caused, I’ll take the video down?”

I lived in Texas for a few years. Interactions with Karens like this were a daily occurrence. Moved to Boston and then New Orleans. Haven't had a weird interaction like that since. It's been bliss.
