      Can you please do one on trubisky as a bears fan I think he's better than people give him credit for but I'm way to young to know all the stuff you know and I'd love to see you break him down

      Or nick foles too honestly I just wanna se what you think about our qbs since our defense doesn't need much help and our offense is dither gonna make or break us

      NeoVester He did a Trubisky video after the opening game during Week 1. I think maybe it was taken down. He also posted a Trubisky video before the 2019 season. There’s other videos from JT O’Sullivan’s QB school that you can watch that cover him too. Personally, I think Trubisky needs more development in reading coverages and making plays going beyond the first read. He often stares at his target which makes him more susceptible to throwing interceptions as this gives DBs more leverage. His mechanics are also off as a lot of his throwing power comes from his shoulders and not his hips. The type of offense that Trubisky ran at North Carolina is different from the one he runs in Chicago so it’s an adjustment that still needs to happen. (i.e. running RPOs and being directly under center instead of from shotgun) Compared to other QBs like Mahomes, KC’s offense is run primarily out of shotgun making this easier for Mahomes. Mahomes also has freakish arm strength and talent that allows him to defy the proper mechanics and throwing motions any normal QB would otherwise need to have. He’s an anomaly compared to other QBs. Mahomes also had a year to sit on the bench and learn from Alex Smith and Andy Reid. Trubisky was thrown right into the starting lineup in 2017. Both Trubisky and Mahomes had to go through the same learning curve as all newbies go through when entering the NFL. The environment between them was just more supportive than the other.

      @@anthonymendez1997 I found the trubisky one it's called good the bad and the ugly thanks and thanks for all this info man if you don't mind could I ask you what you think about foles and who you think would be better going into 2020

    • @anthonymendez1997
      @anthonymendez1997 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NeoVester I’m a Jags fan, so I know Foles pretty well. What gives Foles an advantage is experience. He’s not a QB that elevates the offense. He’s not going to make a bad offense good by himself like maybe Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson would. He won a Super Bowl in Philly because his offense was outstanding in 2017. His offensive line (thanks to Jason Kelce) protected him and his receivers were great at making catches. Philly did a great job at masking and hiding Foles’s weaknesses and with a great supportive cast had helped Foles become Super Bowl MVP. He’s not fast and can’t scramble, so having a great offensive line is crucial to succeeding with Foles. He’d rather take a sack than throw an interception. Jacksonville’s o-line couldn’t hold up and so thanks to AJ Cann, Foles was sacked and fractured his clavicle during Week 1. Foles can really make plays happen through running RPOs and his high IQ, but you need the right tools to make that happen (a great supporting cast). Overall, Jacksonville didn’t have a great offense nor a great plan on winning with Foles which is why things didn’t work out there and he was benched for Minshew. I don’t see that changing in Chicago as the o-line was pretty bad at times protecting Trubisky and Chase Daniels. (mainly Charles Leno Jr. is the overrated tackle who can’t block to save his career). I like his IQ and experience, but hate the fact that he can’t scramble nor run like other QBs. That’s what I like about Trubisky. Trubisky can scramble when needed. Overall, the Bears just need to figure out how to put Foles’s brain into Trubisky’s body in order to improve QB play in 2020. The Bears also need to improve on that disastrous o-line. I see Trubisky starting for the Bears, but on a short leash. I think Foles can really help Trubisky by helping him develop.

Also there wasnt a big discussion if wearing a mask would infringe our freedom (but there are always some snowflakes). We peaked at around 10k new infections per day. But it reduced to around 500 and gone Up to approximately 1000 be Now, since the lockdown got partially lifted. Testing and Track n trace worked well here.overall around 200k infected, 9000 dead, 185k recovered. Felt like our gov reacted quicker than the US and the Most of our states enforced a lockdown and made masks mandatory.

    As a Mizzou fan I watched a ton of his snaps. To me it’s simple, against greater teams/talent (I know all nfl caliber players are unreal) his eyes play tricks on him and he doesn’t have the swag and confidence he does when playing against a defense that his receivers consistently win against and their pass rush isn’t exactly threatening. As a Chiefs fan I’ve seen I think 3 KCvsDEN games since he took over and it’s been the same guy that folded against the UGA’s/LSU’s/Auburn’s/Bama’s in the SEC. He derives a ton of his confidence based on his receivers 1v1 battles instead of throwing them open or helping build them up. He just sinks with the ship.

    Ok so here's my thing about this: what you're saying makes a lot of sense, but I think if Lock just kind of throws caution to the wind, and tries to learn as he goes, he risks not learning it at all. I'm not saying he needs to just stop taking deep shots entirely until has a tom brady-esque understanding of hanging corners and disguised safety zones, but I think you're kind of taking things a bit too quickly. Lock still has a *long* way to go in development, and that kind of stuff can't be rushed. You also have to consider that if he starts throwing caution to the wind behind that Denver O Line, you might end up turning him into Jameis. Just my thoughts, would love to hear your response.

Chargers will be the 4th best despite that defense they’ve built. Their offense will find a way not to score. Raiders 2nd best. Two excellent drafts in a row for a team that was knocking on the playoff door last year. Chiefs 1st obviously.

    I totally agree with these reasons he became too cautious, especially because the Denver media was hammering Lock for being careless with the ball in the KC game.
    But I also would add one more factor: Rich Scangarello. While he was plenty aggressive in his scripted plays, he generally became hyper conservative later in the game when calling plays on the fly. I think Scangarello's "first do no harm" mentality on offense plus the post KC-criticism probably affected how the young QB was weighing risks. Hopefully Shurmur can get that sorted out.

    I was able to watch lock in high school and even tho he had his worst games against my school he definitely has the ability to take a huge leap this year. He definitely has an aggressive mentality and I think in those 2 games against my school he threw 6 or 7 picks and it didn’t effect him at all. I think him being conservative was more on our OC

    I wonder how much of his fear (if any) to take deep shots and turn the ball over is rooted in the fact that he’s with an organization that has constantly been rotating QBs trying to find ‘the guy’ and he’s worried that he’ll be next to go if he doesn’t show that he can take care of the ball

    I can tell you as a Broncos fan there was a co flict between our HC Fangio and our OC Sangs. Scans wanted to avoid risk a deep throws and the teo early deep throws that won Lock his first game were made by him ditching the original play. Scangs got fired and we hired Shurmer in hopes that he would allow for our passing game to go to the next level. I think Scangs was the one spooked early on and was holding back lock. I think Elway did the right thing and let Fangio pick his OC and drafted KJ and Juedy to build this new offence in Fangios mind.

Also Pat Shurmur is a solid offensive coordinator. & y’all might think I’m crazy but did anyone see Wentz, Mahomes, or Lamar being MVP winners / candidates in their 2nd season??? • @GS-hh6dk
    @GS-hh6dk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To be fair, I think you make a good point about Lock being much more conservative in his later starts. However, I think part of that reason was some of the OC's doing. I'd say that Scangarello was much too conservative at times (see the INTENSE Joe Flacco interview after the Colt's game) this year, and I think that's what ultimately got him shown the door after his first year. My guess is that he wanted Lock to kind of hone in that gunslinger mentality, probably seeing a lot of the tough decisions he made, like you did.

    • @thetrib1
      @thetrib1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      as usual, i'd say it's a little bit of both. The OC tapering back the play calling, and also Drew playing a little timid maybe because of the film sessions had with said OC. He'll be ok.

  • @AndrewChenPotatoBoss

    I think another reason behind Lock’s hesitation to throw the ball deep was the offensive scheme. Scangarello liked to play really really conservative, maybe too conservative, and that probably rubbed off on Lock a little. But with Pat Shurmur in town, and with shurmur liking to throw the ball deep, i think lock will definitely throw the ball deeper more often this season.

  • @Sklein17
    @Sklein17 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's interesting how much the narrative about players is driven by where they were drafted. Brett is asking for Lock to take more of the risks that Jones did, but rather than dinging him for it (as he did with Jones) it's a glass half full "it would be a learning experience for him to make those mistakes" style take. I have to wonder if this is an extension of Jones being a divisive player coming out of college that most people saw as drafted too high, whereas Lock was seen as a project drafted appropriately in the second round.

  • @v2micca
    @v2micca 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do agree that Lock showed a massive lack of aggression when compared to his college tape. There are probably several reasons for this. Lack of chemistry with his receiving corp, schematic design, and an over abundance of caution from a Rookie QB trying to avoid mistakes. A couple of those variables are changing this off season for the Broncos. So, it will be interesting to see how much of an effect they have on Drew Lock this season.

    4:45 isn’t that more of a flaw in play design? I feel like that could’ve been prevented by having a TE go out on a block+release to the flat. It is ultimately a flaw in Lock’s decision-making but part of being a good OC is knowing your players’ strengths and weaknesses.

    I mean I fell like him being on IR and not being able to practice until the week before his start is the reason for the timing issues and lack of deep passing. Even under those circumstances he still was able to have pretty good numbers and go 4-1. I think he’s going to be pretty good this year since he is healthy and has had opportunities to work with his receivers this off season.

    Could you do an episode on Minshew? Just wanna see how good you think he is and how far he might be able to carry the Jags this season and in the future. For this season I'm thinking we will be around 6-10 give or take a win or two mostly because of the veteran pieces we traded. I think if we still had Calais and Bouye we would be fighting for a playoff spot, dont think we would make it but i think we would fight for it. But yeah i think we will be around 6 wins, pretty much everyone else ive seen talk about it says we will be one of if not the worst team in the league. Just wondering your thoughts

  • @--7960
    @--7960 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don’t think he lacked the confidence, maybe trusting his receiving core but not confidence, he kept his head up every game and put the work in. Patrick and Hamilton were mediocre at best they didn’t produce well last season they only had 300 receiving each, I can see why he didn’t throw the ball on a deep route they both had a ton of drops and couldn’t step up. we had a way too conservative OC in scang and had little depth at wr. The only thing I can say that he needs to work on is manipulating defenses with his eyes, footwork in the pocket, he has good air on the ball most of the time but sometimes he does put too much on a deep or too low. The footwork I don’t see as a big problem just because we had Wilkinson as a tackle which might be worse for lock this year and make it a habit for him to throw off platform and move more to the left, what I do notice and what I saw is he does a 2 step drop rather than more like flacco and Brandon had done this helping tackles imo. the new offense and having a new OC I think he will be okay, he is getting a lot of hype but I don’t blame them we have Melvin, juedy, hamler and good TE in vannet we just made the offense better.
