Every other year was 16th at worst. You can't be a top half defense in the league 5 out 7 years with a "trash" roster.

Sure, you could argue for the young guys and they're still young and reach a lot but in Elway, marino and Kelly we're talking about 3 HoF QBs, two of which are Top 10 All-time QBs and who have a combined record of 10 SBs appearances. Out of the young guys's group only Joe ever went to a SB. So I think the comparison is quite asymmetrical.

If it’s not, it isn’t because of the players lacking talent, or there being a lack of film on them. So maybe pump the brakes on this whole ATL 12-5 and playoff contender idea.
