Nice and easy to follow and you are very correct about bass being very good eating especially if you cook them on a blackened pot or how ever y’all cooks call that

Can there be at least one damn filleting video where someone doesn’t comment, “left a lot a meat on thar.”

Can you recommend a good sharp fillet knife? I bought one but it's not as sharp as I would like.

Ira, sorry I have been without internet for a few weeks, finally got someone out here to fix it. I like the Rapala fillet knifes, but keep them only for filleting as my wife likes them for the kitchen and they will loose their edge fast that way.

@@midwestoutdoors1442 I actually bought Rapala and Dexter fillet knives. They are both good and I have an electric knife sharpener which is a must if you fillet fish. Very important to have sharp knives when filleting fish!! Thanks for the great video. I've filleted 2 bass and one tilapia so far from when I fish!! I also went out fishing with a friend on her boat and we caught 8 catfish. She filleted them using an electric fillet knife but I don't think those knives are as good as a manual fillet knife as long as it is razor sharp!!

I always cut the lateral line out of the meat before I cook it

Newspaper shreds and sticks to the fish. A piece of 2x8 or a fence board is better. The fish won't slide around as much. Looks like you left a lot of meat on that carcass below the pin bones.
