This final sub-story has probably been replayed countless times in real life, when parents relieve their unmarried daughter of an unwanted pregnancy and make sure the child is taken care of. The commonest variation was to add the new child as the youngest in a family of a dozen or so children, or an "unexpected" late child. Wealthy parents have always had more options.

It’s so stupid that the drinking age is 21 in the U.S. it should be 18, at that age you can join the army, get a job, get married, drive a car, and buy a house but you can’t drink alcohol.
It actually has a long history, going way back to the probation on alcohol. Succinctly said, the US wanted young kids to serve in wars like the Vietnam war and ongoing middle eastern conflicts, but don’t want alcohol, so yeah.
And most of us rather like it to be 21 to be honest. Just means that we can focus on college over all and not have to worry about developing addiction to it. We are already allowed to smoking aspect from 18, we don't need full on first year college students being shit faced in every classes they go into. Yes, this is me as mid-20s talking and is grateful of that age limit. Everyone wants to start drinking until when it's time; then they realize that it cost pretty money and not worth the effort to go through over the period of time.

It's because the sister knows and and she can't stand it probably getting all butt hurt because people on the internet are roasting her for being a horrible person. Shattering her illusion.
I think there definitely has to be some genetics at play for her condition to be that bad. But yes, the parents are to blame for letting her get away with everything.
By that logic should marriage age and army age be 21 + too? Or to have a kid or job and car? To understand the mind of a narcissist, one has to remember "The Narcissist's Prayer": That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.
I think the sister is not a narcissist, but a psychopath. I don't think she can feel guilt or remorse. So actually your mother and father may not be to blame. This is probably fake, but it's a hell of a story.
I could see the baby growing up and making a Reddit post for himself. "My mother showed up at my front door after my family told me she's been dead for years."
Some things that are said can never be unsaid or forgiven, telling your child that ‘you should’ve killed them’ is one of those things that can never be unsaid
That girl was definitely the favorite child. I know a family of criminals who support their younger daughter through all her harassment of other guys and some other girls. They forged checks to attempt to draw unauthorized amounts of a hundred or two hundred here and there from their older daughter. Now they pretend the older daughter they tried to steal from doesn't exist. He got out of jail due to connections with BOTH inmates and even one cop.
Spoiling your kids is proof you don't love them because you're raising future adults that are always going to be dependent on you. And in the end they'll resent that you didn't provide them with the tools to become independent adults.
Dont feel too bad that the sister got what she wanted guy's, she'll lose it all eventually. Her life really just cant have a happy ending because she's her own worst enemy. She'll get in trouble again, and when she does she'll have absolutely nobody to turn to. She may try to use her son in a desperate bid to get back to the good life, but if she does she'll just end up breaching her contract and lose whatever she has left. You dont have to be psychic to predict her future
Im so glad the kid is gonna be taught how to be a good person, but i hope that the kid isnt spanked or abused, even if its just to make sure the kid doesnt turn out like the real mom
The worst part about this story, for me, is that if the sister - at any point before literally trading her child and entire family for some money and a house - just admits she lied and actually apologized for what she did and actually just worked on being a grateful person, that I have very little doubts that she would have gotten everything she was trying to manipulate her way into getting. Her mom taught her to act like this, she's probably the only one in that entire family that should feel guilty and ashamed over the fact that her daughter isn't in their life. but ultimately, it is the daughter's own actions, even mom at her worse was able to swallow her pride, it just took a lot more than it would take the average person.
We can characterize that just by seeing how the sister turned out. It’s pretty obvious that the dad raised OP to be what he is. And it was basically the mom interfering with the sister. And it’s clear that the dad might have given up trying to correct the sister. Maybe because his wife is too stubborn to acknowledge or they didn’t have a very strong transparency or clearance. Or just children teaming up and manipulating one sided with a parent can go very bad if it’s intentional, and perusing on that road could collapse the family. He surely knew and foresaw what would happen with the sister, he can’t be a fool. But he did or does nothing because of something. As I said, there could be many issues, could be his own personal issues or just very complicated relationship and family issues. Things are very complicated and conditioned in real life than when we conclude it logically.
Also if ops dad was rich in a small town, why didn’t op and his dad sue the police department for false imprisonment. To jail someone with out any evidence usually results in expensive settlements for police.
Sigh... Stories like this are why psyche checks should be mandatory for some businesses, and why you should take your kids to regularly see doctors to see if they have any issues like narcissism.
Yes, just not in this case. They had to take the accusation seriously, on the chance it was legitimate. Same deal with a lot of sa accusations. Even if it's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was faked, the cops did their job.

100% horrible, but in a way, it shows how much his grandparents cared about his wellbeing that they sold a business and spent millions to arrange his adoption to save him from an abusive and narcissistic mother. That counts for something in my book.
Didn't expect the mom to get a redemption arc but thats good to hear. Hope she and OP repair their relationship even if a little, though OP isnt obligated to part take in that.

Why is that a good thing? Because you need woman to end up in a good situation for the guys ending to be positive? Or maybe you care more about her feelings. Pathetic.

I'd say I feel bad for the parents, but they raised her to be like that. Dad is just as guilty and while I support their actions toward her as an adult, this entire thing could have been prevented if your Dad had just put his foot down from the start instead of letting your mother raise her as a spoiled brat.
Dad was probably to busy to notice really. And the dude did write that he loved his sister when she was younger so she did change at a certain time by then the father already had a certain image of her. It's hard for people to think outside of their definitions they have come up with in their head it takes time to see the small bits for their real place in the larger picture.
@@strangeair3917 I doubt anyone intended for her to turn out like this. She didn't suddenly one day become this though. The signs were always there, it's just that one parent couldn't be bothered to pay attention and the other one blissfully ignored it staring them right in the face the whole time.
Regardless of the responsibilities of the household, both parents should be actively involved in their children's lives and immediately correct the actions, especially when a parent is showing blatant favoritism.

No, it doesn't, it makes no sense and it's not a thing in all the world but USA. Americans are dangerous and need to be protected from themselves.
By that logic should marriage age and army age be 21 + too?

That didn't happen.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.

Im so glad the kid is gonna be taught how to be a good person, but i hope that the kid isnt spanked or abused, even if its just to make sure the kid doesnt turn out like the real mom
this story is brutal for the op and just sad in general.
it teaches a good life lesson
That mother and sister are both discussing over rationality. It would be me? I would just never look back fuck em
If OP's Dad Was like his mom it wouldve been gg's good game for him
IMO the dad is an even bigger POS for forcing the son to endure the mom and sister, the dad KNEW and yet did nothing meaningful about it...
I cant believe a parent would try to get their child to take a felony that fhey didnt do thats some freaking BS
this is disgusting.
I hope op lives the rest of his life as a happy man.
Psych checks are also a way of screening out people with autism.
