thanks for posting, I have a RH rail that came apart. got a used one. will be replacing retaining pins. I have a rebuilt title so cant do a dealer recall. I paid 100 for both rails so not to bad.
FYI to all that have continued to deal with this issue, Ford has elevated 20N11 to an official safety recall (21S24) and plan to offer replacements, but keep in mind that parts likely won’t be available until Sept 2021
It’s 2022 now has this recalls expired? On my 2016 Explorer or should I just buy some epoxy and apply it myself. Mine comes off when I go they the car wash at the end of the wash cycle and the blowers come on and blow the rail off lol thx for the great video
People are still coming in to the dealership and we are still putting the push Clips in the roof rails so must not be over schedule to get into your local dealer and ask them or any campaigns open on the roof rails

But in essence to what you just said it has changed again they are getting away from using push pins and they will install epoxy instead of push pins to permanently glue it down
So the manufacturer last week just sent us a brand new double barrel epoxy gun with a new epoxy mixture and they don't want us using push pins anymore they want them glued back down because even the new push pins are failing

i tried fixing it myself but they just spring back out it’s ridiculous
So if the roof rails ever need to be removed, good luck. Body shop might do more damage removing them

Actual recall just announced in Canada on April 30, 2021. Dealers will install push-pins and replace any damaged rail clips and roof rail covers.

How it that a fix when they're just gonna glue it down?? I own a 2018 Explorer and thus isn't exactly a fix. It's seems like more of a rig job to me.

I think it will but I'm not exactly sure if there's any bolt hole or clip changes that may not allow it to so I wouldn't be 100% sure
