It's a terrific Finale. Sets up a brilliant S2. What's great about The Buffyverse is seeing old characters introduced back into it which always adds to brilliant plotlines. Love it when Angel says to one handed Lindsey when he tries to burn the scroll 'don't always believe everything that's foretold''. Wesley comes to the rescue with his brilliance in translation, but messes up with Angel's prophecy saying he is going to live! The revelation of Darla being brought back sets up some great episodes for S2. The last five episodes of Angel S1 were superb. Still cannot understand some BTVS fans refusing to watch Angel. The best episodes of this show are more than a match for BTVS, and in many cases surpassed it.

The actress that plays Darla (Julie Benz) is the same one who plays her since Season 1 episode 1 of Buffy. ðŸĨ°

Kate was mostly a good character because it's so useful for private investigators to have a friend on the police force. And sure, it was unavoidable to flirt around with the idea of them becoming more than just that, but we can't have that for Angel now can we? But how far can they go down the "enemies" route? Just another tease by the writers.

    RIP Lindsay's hand.
Welcome back Darla! (Same actress who's always played her just with dirtied hair and sweating profusely, due to the magic performed is my guess).

We're not good at conceptualising the apocalypse and far-off tragedies. If we were, the world would have transitioned to green energy decades ago, the Cold War would have ended a lot sooner and we would have decommissioned all our nukes. And, frankly, capitalism wouldn't exist.
It's part of a defence mechanism. We can't care equally about everyone who exists, has existed or ever will exist. We just can't. We'd never get anything done. We have to be selective in who we show empathy to or we couldn't function. Three children is small scale and personal enough that Lindsey can conceptualise it, especially since he implies in his backstory rant to Angel that he lost two siblings at a young age ("six kids in a room, come flu season it was down to four.") He knows that's bad. The apocalypse? It's too big for him to connect that to tragedies he can identify with. Too difficult to imagine and relate to.

Wolfram and Hart are the biggest bad of the season, but this is not Buffy where they big bad is defeated before the end of the season, they will continue to be antagonists even if they are not in every episode.
The Oracles are not the PTBs they have some powers themselves but they are not the ones who send the visions.
Darla was Angelus' lover for some time, Yes, he killed her when she was a threat to Buffy, but I think she can still have an influence on him.
