    Hi howzit bud, thanks so much for the informative videos. Is it possible to make a short vid around the usage of long guns for self defence in SA, can the usage of a long gun on section 15/16 for self defence ever be justified.
    Thanks

      Hi there, thanks for your question.
      That is definitely an interesting topic to do a video on.
      The short answer is that you may use any means at your disposal to defend innocent life, including the use of a long gun.

      Thanks for your question!
      You can definitely store your firearm at home. You will be required to bolt a safe to a solid wall in your house with M10 rawl bolts.
      Alternatively, you are also able to store your firearm at a shooting range and make use of it when you choose.
      Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks for the information... a quick one, what is the turnaround time for the A-Z process you've just mentioned now.

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there Tshego, thanks for your comment😁
      The short answer is:
      - 3 weeks for proficiency.
      - 3 months for competency.
      - 3 months for the licence.
      These are estimates, so the process can take a bit longer, or a bit shorter😁
      The thing with firearm licensing is, the sooner you get it in, the sooner you get it out!

    Hi... Thanks for great content and insight... I've got a criminal record for possession of an unlicensed firearm(5 years suspended sentence) this was more then 15 years ago, I was declared unfit to possess as well... I haven't had any trouble with the law since and I've read the FCA and there's a section that says after 5 have passed without any other convictions I can be apply for a license, is this correct and what process should I follow, I just wanna start sport shooting, nothing hectic, just production class competitions, is this likely or should I not waste my time?

      Thanks for the comment and question 😁
      You are correct in saying that you can apply for a competent certificate after being declared unfit to possess a firearm. However, we have seen SAPS be sticky with offence involving firearms.
      We recommend getting in touch with Damian Enslin. He is a lawyer that we refer more serious cases to. Rather check in with him to be safe. You can reach him on

    Can you use you AR15 or scorpion for self defence?

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You may use any means to defend innocent life, if an unlawful attack against life is imminent or has begun. Including the use of any firearm. The use of the firearm must be reasonable and you must truly be in danger. It is not advisable to take a privately licensed semi auto into potentially dangerous situations, where you are expecting trouble as this may be seen as pre-meditated.
      Always remember to avoid situations as far as possible.

    Hi there , I have a gun related question . Are we allowed to carry our self-defense gun and our section 16 handgun on us at the same time ?

    • @markmulder4206
      @markmulder4206 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there, thanks for your comment!
      According to the Firearms Control Act there is no limitation on the number of firearms you are able to carry on your person, as long as you are complying with the Act.
      1. You need to have a valid licence for the firearm.
      2. The firearm must be in a holster.
      3. The firearm must be concealed.
      I hope this answer helped!

      @Gunlicence I actually do , and this is something I don't see many people discussing and talking about ...
      The Lord forbid , but if we ever were to get involved in a shooting / shootout . What happens next ?
      What do we have to do , what should we say ? Do you get locked up immediately for having dropped a human ? What are good things to remember etc ...

      Thanks for your comment. We can technically build ARs. Separate uppers, lowers, etc.
      It is definitely easier from a licensing perspective to license one complete rifle to start off with. Buying and kitting uppers after that becomes easier.
      Alternatively buy a base rifle that you like and kit it out with furniture to your liking and spec.

      Hi there, thanks for your question😁
      You can purchase and license as many firearms as you can motivate.
      We have plenty of clients who we have licensed more than 4 semi automatic rifles for, for the purpose of dedicated sport shooting.
      You will need to hold dedicated status with an accredited organisation.

    Are you legally allowed to defend yourself from a gang of criminals using a semiautomatic rifle like that one?

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the awesome question!
      You may use "any means at your disposal" to defend yourself or the life of another against a life threatening criminal attack.
      So, the short answer is Yes.
      Keep in mind that you will need to possibly explain your actions to a judge, so make sure that you always act rationally, withing the confines of the law.
