    Got both my gun licenses 2 for me and one for my wife.
    Mine a Glog 45 and a semi auto Shot gun and Glog 43.
    It was really a pleasure to do it through Mark and a great team.
    I was told that I will never get the license for the shot gun.
    They did it successfully with no problems whatsoever.
    That time we were unfortunately waiting nearly 3 years to get the licenses.
    Can really recommend give them a visit when living inside the Western Cape.

      Hey guys, awesome information.
      Have you managed to get a section 14 done before?
      Would like to find out how does one goes about getting that, or will it be easier to just do section 16?

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wadevanniekerk6130 waaaay simpler to just go for section 16.
      It is very difficult to motivate for 14. You are also incredibly limited with 200 rounds and a 2 year licence.
      Section 16 is simpler to get, you can have unlimited ammo, the licence is valid for 10 years and you can use it for any lawful purpose, including self defence.

Best advice I can give is the sooner you start the process the sooner it will happen. Great info provided will point all my friends to your video. And thank you GunlicenceZA for there much needed assistance as SAPS is not the easiest to deal with.

And we appreciate your comment - we strive to make the firearm licensing process as easy as possible for everyone!

    sounds like human rights to self defense doesnt matter in sa

    • @angrysocialjusticewarrior
      @angrysocialjusticewarrior 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Self defense is legal in South Africa. But there is a difference between self defense and gun ownership. The need to defend yourself is not an automatic entitlement to own a gun. Same way the need to drive a car in an emergency situation (like driving a dying person to the hospital) does not mean you should be allowed to own a car.
      What I'm trying to say is, regardless of whether you have a gun license or not, when it comes to defending your life... you can use any gun for self defense. If there happens to be a gun laying around while someone is shooting at you, you have the right to use that gun to defend yourself. But when it comes to owning your own personal gun that will belong to you personally, it is not a right. So even if you lawfully defend yourself with a gun but the gun is not legally owned, you will not be penalized to harshly for defending yourself but the judge is going to be harsh on you for owning a weapon illegally. So you might avoid a murder charge, but you may get a manslaughter charge and also get banned from applying for a gun license.

    • @n3r0manishere37
      @n3r0manishere37 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@angrysocialjusticewarrior To me, there is no difference between the two, the government permission slip means absolute zilch, nada, nothing. Unfortunately, I do not believe SA has an amendment similar to the 2A in America. Now, America has commie states that attempt to ban and enforce the permission slips, but they are continually getting shut down for violations of god given rights.

    1. At which point do you need to have a safe installed, is it before/during the competency application process or the licensing application process?
    2. Does the DFO physically come to your home for the inspection of the safe and the premises?
    Very informative video and thank you for providing us with such information 🏆🔥

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hey Sibs, good question.
      1. You only need a safe when applying for the firearm licence. (step 3)
      2. Technically SAPS must do an in person inspection, however due to limited resources, most DFOs will be satisfied with photos and a safe declaration form👍

    Great content. Id like to challenge one aspect (not quite in topic), the use of lights on firearms vs red dots (since you mentioned how popular they are). Putting a light on a SD firearm is closest you can get to signalling, "Im here!", apart from actually saying it. Yes you can potentially dazzle someone, but thats only if you're close and get the element of surprise. Failing that, you've just given away the element of surprise and presented a clear and highly visible target for a perp.

      Unfortunately no science behind the police😅
      We have recently had several clients wait less than 1 month. The average if we factor several hundred applications is around 2-3 months, obviously many people do wait longer.
      The wait time also runs in cycles, so it will keep changing.
      The important thing is you have done what most people will never do and handed in your application😁👍

      @@gunlicence I really appreciate the reply.
      I think the thing is you guys are operating in the Western Cape where I am in the Eastern Cape (PE). The police station I went to is absolutely clueless. I finished my proficiency training and tests in March already (handgun, manually operated and self loading). I made my appointment to hand it in for competency, and when I arrived on the day (after I put in leave from work) they were absolutely stunned that I was there. I then got told that their system is down (was down for over a month) and they wouldn’t help me. I finally handed it in on the 8th of May and I’m currently still waiting. it’s now been in process at CRC for the past few months.
      But yes, at least it’s in. Now just the waiting game. Even though it might be a headache and a half I would strongly encourage any law abiding citizens to get this done. Jy kan nie n vis vang as jou lyn nie in die water is nie… nou wag ons maar en kyk wat byt 😂

    • @gunlicence

      Hi there Gwakie 🙂, we strive to always deliver on our full money-back guarantee (we have been very successful thus far) and therefore we draft such large comprehensive motivations. SAPS has a long list of reasons why they can refuse an applicant, so our mission is to block each and every one of those reasons. While a 40 to 70 page motivation might sound excessive, we make sure that we cover all bases 💪

    Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here and don't know much about guns. Should I start with proficiency training or Natshoot? I'm really into hunting and love rifles, a passion I inherited from my late father. He let me shoot a pellet gun, which was thrilling. He had about five guns, including a World War II sniper rifle, which he eventually turned in. I'm eager to get into sport hunting ofcoz safety for my family.

    I have a question. I'm a 29-year-old male and I really want a firearm for home defense, but my problem is that literally, my whole family is anti-gun. If the police phone my next-of-kin (or any family member for that matter), there is no way that they will give their thumbs up. Is this always the case?

    Does a competency expire for business or personal... Because mine just has the date of issue nothing else

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Marco 😁, a competency certificate will expire after 5 years if you have not licensed any firearms after obtaining your SAPS-issued competency. If you were only issued a Section 13 licence, you would simply renew your competency each time you renew your firearm licence. For the guys who have licensed firearms under Section 15, competency would be renewed every 10 years. If you work in the private security industry, it is also a good rule of thumb to renew your competency 5 years after the issue date. I hope this helps! 🤘

    I have a friend who's dad had various licenses for pistol, rifle, shotgun, and who subsequently passed away. Is it possible for him to get the guns transferred to him by doing a new application for them? Is there any difference to the process in the case the licenses have expired? Thank you

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there @on_the_saddle 😁your friend would be able to apply for these firearms, should he complete the steps of obtaining his proficiency certificates and applying for his competency. SAPS has confirmed that if the licence holder has passed, and the firearm licences were not renewed before the holder passed, a new applicant may still hand in applications for those firearms. The executor/administrator of the deceased's estate would simply have to sign the SAPS 271 forms 👌

    Just a question from a guy who knows nothing.
    Does anyone know the legalities of having a "truck gun"? i.e. a semi auto rifle that you keep in your car "just in case"

    • @gunlicence
      @gunlicence ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there Ian 😁 , you can apply for any semi-automatic rifle such as an AK or AR-15 should you follow the correct process (Proficiency, Competency, achieving your Dedicated Status, and finally Licensing). You are allowed to transport any firearm in a bag, box or holder/holster which has been designed or adapted to carry that firearm - you may also use that firearm for self defence, should there be an imminent and unlawful attack against human life. However, the firearm cannot be exposed (firearms have to be fully concealed in any public space) and the firearm may not be left in your vehicle when you are not present 👍
