  • This is about as simple as you can get to wire lights for your Lifan powered bike.
    Here is a link for the regulator:

    This is hands down the best channel for rebuilding/restoring old motorcycles using new motors.
    I need to check, but knowing how to wire up the brake light (for braking - not just running brake light) would also be very useful.

This leaves the white and yellow wires from the engine harness to connect to the rectifier, but I also have one green/red wire with male end in the engine harness, cut it or ignore it? The green/red is the neutral indicator wire. If you don’t have a neutral light, you can ignore it.
      I’ve never seen a harness with a second blue/white wire. I’d leave it unplugged. If you have spark, you can cut it or ignore it. Some harnesses do have a black/white wire that is the “Kill” wire. Are you sure it’s blue/white and not black/white?

      Can you hear the starter solenoid clicking, when you push the button? If you can get to the starter solenoid, check to make sure it’s getting 12v. If it is, jump across the two posts and starter should spin. You can also put 12v directly to the starter. If it doesn’t spin, the starter is bad.

I read from internet that there is half wave and full wave stators and i am pretty sure that half wave stators needs half wave recifier and full wave stators needs full wave recifier. I think that my lifan is full wave because light coil is not grounded on engines frame(read that from internet). So normally lifans come with yellow and white wires? And are yellow and white wire stators half wave and needs half wave recifier? If thats right i may need to buy full wave recifier to my full wave lifan. The reficiers that i tried was from my old chinese motor with yellow and white wire and if they were half way recifiers then they dont work with full wave stator?

    What does Put Up Iron on the rectifier mean, and why a half way rectifier? So the head light is running AC, is that correct?

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว

      The stator can be wired a couple different ways from the manufacture. Most Lifan’s with a yellow wire and a white wire are half wave. The headlight can be powered AC or DC, depending on which wire you hook it too. The yellow wire is AC, the red wire is DC.

    Difference between the half wave and the full wave rectifier ?

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Google can probably explain it better than myself, but the half wave is just that….only half of the AC wave is converted to DC. The other half is sent to ground, if I’m not mistaken. It’s an inefficient system, but cheap. I believe the charging coil is split between 5 windings, 3 are output thru the yellow wire, which is intended to power the headlight. The other two are sent to battery.
      I believe a full wave system sends all AC power from both sides of the wave to the battery and all electrics are run thru the battery.
      If I have all this incorrect, I apologize.

      If you wired light as shown in video, there is no battery. Without a battery supplying a constant voltage, the light will always flicker, due to the stators random voltage output.

      @@MiniBikeMike do you use a battery and voltage regulator or one or the other? Also if you are running an ignition switch made within the harness do you need a run switch?
