ghost in the machine.. i got a 2nd hand 2021 tiking 4 seater 200cc kart the other day. it was a crank no start, owner said the shop replaced the cdi a few weeks earlier and a few days after that it died. and he decided to sell it. for a 2021 it was mistreated i could tell every single bolt and nut was loose some hand tight loose.. the breather hose from box to carb gone the electric box cover gone and it was pouring down rain when i bought it..i tested the stator, and all was good but knowing what the kart been through i replaced it anyway. still no spark then i decided to put a new CDI in it and i had spark. then put plug in tried to crank nothing pulled plug no spark, tested the CDI it was blown now also. when i took the voltage Regulator off the mount i noticed the bottom was cracked bad. so im not sure where to go with it. but i noticed some weird stuff if i wiggle the key switch the dash lights and speedo meter flicker. also i went to measure the holes for a new tail/brake light with my digital gauge and it was going bonkers when i put it up near the electric box area something is shorting somewhere just not sure where to look..i have checked all grounds all are good now. i do have a new ignition/key switch coming and new CDI..
You know that sounds like a crazy thing you’re dealing with. I’ve had similar situation I had a 125 cc Chinese ATV when I first bought it I decided to go over it check for spark oil level see if it had gas it had all of those went to go start. It would not start pull the plug out no spark I was super confused so I bought a new stater and wiring harness. Everything was brand new on it still would not spark. I ended up selling it, but that just shows that Chinese stuff is not the greatest quality and will have defects. I’ve had many wiring harnesses come in the mail from Amazon that just straight out don’t work I’d say try this. bypassed wiring harness and see if you can get the engine to run because sometimes it can be nice and refreshing just to see and hear your project running. It will also give you the motivation to keep going, but it does sound like something is not getting power properly on that go cart or shorting somewhere I’ve never had a problem like this, but what I can say is do not get mad and sell the vehicle spend time on it and figure it out if you have a wire tester to test out all the wires to make sure that power is going to where it needs to be and who knows you could’ve Botton a bad wiring harness. Let me know what happens. I’ll try to help you the best I can.
But what is good is that you know that it’s shorting somewhere and you have a problem now you just need to find a solution working on these Chinese ATVs/go kart pit bikes is not easy but just keep going and I’m sure you’ll figure it out
After taking the ground off and cleaning it and putting a star washer between it and bolt still no spark then taking the voltage regulator off and sanding down to metal and using dielectric grease and star washers to bolt it back down it cranks and runs fine. wasted money on part-fixing but hey at least i have spare parts..like everybody told me grounding sucks on these things if you have any Chinese stuff take anything that is grounded and sand it to metal being a old radio guy i go that extra mile and use star washers to bite down good..

@@butterbean4195wow bro I have replaced everything and thought it could be a bad ground or one of those solo wires that are under the regulator or cdi (don’t recall the name). I will work on this when I get home tomorrow

I’m having the same issue except I know for sure the stator, coil, spark plug, and cdi are good because I tried it on another atv. But on this one I’m still not getting spark, sometimes it will but very little any ideas?
Try put good spark plug against engine block and see if it sparks when u start the bike. If it doesn't spark unscrew the plug wire from voltage regulator and replace it. These bikes are notorious for cooking plug wires
Well, there’s really no way to do that other than buying a custom stator and flywheel if you look up the model of your bike, you should be able to find a new style of the ignition system for it it’s probably around $400
Thank you. It is not clear to me what this test gives, Does it give you indication that all parts tested actually work? If i have an atv and want to run it without switch lights or any other condition will this test work? Should i put plug inplace? Thanks
This can either be to see if your stater and all your parts work like the CDI and coil or you could just use this as your makeshift wiring harness to get your ATV to run and drive for fun

Why not put a simple toggle switch in one of the wires from the stator? I just finished my grandson's go cart today. Your video made it so understandable. Good job@@Thecatdidit
Black w\white stripe connects to ground... (Green wire) on a\c system from CDI.... On d\c CDI switch the red\ black stripe wire at CDI. Blue white generates over 100v AC power! Not enough amps to cook even a small chicken, but definitely will kill the CDI if the plug on it gets wet and that transient current finds alternate paths...
Hey i have a question i have a taotao 125cc gokart i have ordered a wiring harness i wanna keep the wires like the brake lights and keyswitch and others Would this wiring bypass still the keyswitch still work using this and other things lmk

I'm running mine like this, works fine. I ran the ground against the bottom end behind the stator plate.

What if you only have a black,red,yellow,and blue wires come g from stater how do they go
Yellow is most likely for the lights otherwise black is ground red as power and blue power
Ya this will work but won't you have issues blowing cdi boxs because you didn't run a voltage regular?
I think it’s possible, but I’ve never had a blown CDI box doing this

I don’t know how to but through trial and error you’ll figure it out. Anything is possible.

Pretty much the kickstart wiring harnesses are just the simplified electric start wiring harnesses

Where does the red wire from the battery go
That wire is coming from the starter and you connected to the battery on the positive end
Show people how to use an OHM meter on the stator. And figure out how to test the trigger magnet on the inside

I think you’re referring to the wire that is black and red that’s a power connection wire

I change cdi, spark plugg and coil/cable. No spark...
That means you’re stator is bad then.

On aluminum blocks you wont have a ground on block

Unplug the spark plug boot if it’s not metal, otherwise it will shock you or turn the choke on
