Thanks for this review. Saw one on FB marketplace and wanted to research it. Gonna have to say no on this one. $40,000 doesn't get you very much anymore.

Runnig boards should always be optional. They get on the way when offroading, plus I've never like the looks of it.
Now, as for the the basic trim, the STX is on, but LED headlights should now be standard and that center armrest should open. In my area (SoCal) you don't see this trim lately, buy when it comes to base models, the chevy silverado custom and custom trailboss are very common. I guess Ford dealers are the greetiest and have crazy mark ups.
