I Def would whip an XL. The XLT trim with the high package is probably the sweet spot in the ford trims for me since I don’t need leather but this is still a nice whip. The seat is prob the only deal breaker tho

You’re going to have a great time updating/upgrading it. I’ve done the bed liner, Retrax aluminum cover, KO2’s and because I need to be able to get into old parking garages, this time I’m only doing the Falcon 2” leveling kit which allows you to use your front coils like the Bilstein along with adjustable rear shocks so I’m looking forward to them finally arriving out of Utah. Btw, you did great not buying one with sun/moon roof as they’re a pain in the ass to maintain and leak later in life. Good luck and God Bless

At least it's not a regular plan jane xl. The stx is more of a Sport Appearance package which I rather have with the color matched painted bumpers with some decent features. You can always do upgrades to what you want with features. Not everyone wants the leather, the blinding flashy chrome, and all the other crazy gadgets that you won't use that come in these higher packages. Yes the higher packages are very very nice and get you hooked into it until they tell you that payment.
I have a 2021 F-150 and absolutely love it! It’s a platinum with all the tech, which is great but it’s a little too much tech sometimes if that makes sense. I like the XL because it’s simpler. Can’t wait to see the content you bring!
On my ‘14 STX, if you pressed the “+” on the column shifter, it shows the gears on the gauge cluster right above “PRNDM”. You only have to press it once and it’ll always be on. I don’t know about you but I always liked seeing what gear I was in.
You can also add oem remote start, I know I say a lot but just a bunch of upgrades you can do to modernize it and make content that’s very relatable for many people
Hey man, couple things. Check out ForScan. It’s one of the best things about ford, you can change a bunch of settings like your DRL lights and other settings. Can add a door code keypad with it (which is wicked btw! I leave my key in the truck all the time and lock it up!) trailer brake controller etc. Also, these new fords can get auto climate control, you can just replace the climate control button module with a higher trim one and you get auto climate (just not dual climate) and lots of other things. I def look forward to more F150 content!
I just installed a pedal commander on my 21 TrailBoss with 5.3L and am lovin it! I did test drive a F150 5.0 before i bought my TB but was impressed by the responsiveness of the 5.0. You might not need one. Still diggin that blue! 😃👍
You test drove an F150 5.0 and still bought the 5.3 Chevy? Strange. The F150 is sooo much faster. The top-end in particular is a night and day difference. Granted, not everyone cares about that in a truck.
I’ve been watching since you first got your Silverado and I always hoped you’d get a f150 every time you made the dealership videos. So happy you got this one and especially in my opinion the best ford color on the trucks right now. I definitely recommend you look into getting forscan on your computer and add some features to your truck and also remove things like that auto stop start.
Nicest base model I have seen. Has more options than my 2015 XLT. Gets a man thinking. I have narrowed it down to either the STX with FX4 package or XLT with FX4. The difference is about 100 dollars a month on payment. They did really nice with the STX.
I have a 2019 xlt 302a with the sport appearance package in magnetic metallic. 5.0 6.5 ft bed with a 4 in bds lift . It’s great I love it. I went with a magna flow exaust and it’s just right for me
Although the XL driver's seat cannot be raised, but the steering wheel is adjustable up/down and telescopic to allow a good seating adjustment. For the price point, Ford really should have the drivers seat electric.
Not bad! I got into an XL too and I thought the same about the sound system. Not too much to complain about. I really like the vinyl floors of the XL's.
If you drive it in sport mode it automatically disables auto start stop plus its more fun to drive that way and also is you double tap the traction control button it puts tsc mode in sport which let's you have fun but won't let you get out of control
I have a 2018 stx with a 2.7 ecoboost 2 wheel drive and it ran a 14.88@96 mph spinning stock. It’s the same color of this truck. I plan to hold on to it for a few more years
I have the same truck but mine is white and I have a 6 inch lift kit in and and I absolutely love the truck I haven’t had any problems out if it, the coyote motor in it is awesome, and it sounds awesome with some dual flow masters, and it looks sexy lifted
I recently bought my dream spec 2003 ford F-150 XLT STX 4x4. Minor rust in the front bumper but every else is good. I still have my 2003 Ford F150 Sport 4x4 but I think from here on out I will be collecting 2003 ford f150 based on trim and condition.

I have a 2020 XL screw with the STX package. Definitely some nicer trim in the interior of yours. Regarding remote start, you can't use your Ford pass app? I can remote start mine with the app on my phone but not on the key fob. Kind of annoying but it works.
Like the new truck ready for content but I definitely definitely wanna see the 22x12s you had on the 22 sierra on chomper but I’m also ready to see how this xl transforms over the next few months
I got a new Chevy custom Silverado recently for mrsp around 48k. It has remote start black 20inch wheels power seats driver side steering wheel controls multi flex tail gate. I’ve added the led head light bulbs and tint so far. I’m looking at eibachs pro truck lift 2 kit. Complete coilover and rear shocks for a 1k to level the truck
How is it weird to have varying textures and colors. That's a good thing! It's nicer and definitely adds a more premium look and feel. Also, that "scratchy plastic" is also nice. The texture adds quality to the look and feel, especially for a truck. What did you want everything mono-tone flat black smooth plastic?

I had a 2018 leadfoot gray 2.7 twin turbo man 26 mpg on the highway great truck great truck I agree with you a dealbreaker with me no power seat to articulate those nice nuances. That’s why I’m looking at a Chevrolet custom you can get the power seat in there I love the Chevy custom with the black accent package Again base model I think they are on balance the smartest handsomest of the lot Excel for Ford custom for Chevrolet
Coming from a ford guy IMO This isn't the greatest truck for performance bc of the gen 4 Coyote good luck on finding tuning for it. But from a cosmetic standpoint 15+ r by far my favorite chassis for lifting
my 2011 f150 XLT didn't come with remote start but I was able to give it that capability. I had to buy an OEM ford Antenna and plug into the truck, get new OEM ford keys with the remote start button, program it, and then it worked. Also had to use forscan. I would look and see if you can mod it to get that functionality.
An XL with wireless Apple CarPlay? Your truck is an intriguing spec. In parts it’s pretty barebones, but in others it seems very luxury. Guess I’m coming from a 2004 mid-trim truck that gets everything done that I want it to. Hopefully the dealership gave you plenty of money for the Sierra and made the 150 a good deal.

Did you ever get the ford pass app?? It will allow you the remote start and you can start lock and unlock from anywhere in the world.
It takes so long, the response is not that great

2nd this. Mine works great and is very quick. If you’re having slow response it is probably your phone or phone service.

I haven’t had issues with mine. It’s nice to remote start it when you’re in an amusement park and it’s 100+ degrees out.

You can get a plug and play remote start for most newer ford’s and you just press the lock button 3 times

Try unlocking then locking 2x for remote start thought my ford stx also didn’t come with remote start but tried this and worked for me.

The oem soft open tailgate is like $90 and fits. It goes behind the passenger tail light. Just something to consider over the aftermarket option

You can turn off the auto stop/start in the settings on cluster
If you get fordpass up and running, you can have remote start! Not as convenient as on the key, but nice to still have it

I love this truck and with it a stx and a fx4 package I would not consider that as a base model
It is a base model XL package, with mostly cosmetic, and upgraded wheels, and a 295 console. That’s about it.
