A friend of mine died cutting down a tree in his yard. This is no joke. Always hire a professional. My friend was no novice with a chainsaw. He cut wood all the time. He had a woodburning stove.
those half felled trees are called widowmakers for a reason... my spouses maternal grandfather got paralysed feom the waist down when a tree snagged and fell over him similairly to the tree story. OPs grandparents got off insanely lucky.
My dad and me are volunteer firefighters, so we know how to handle our tools. My dad was cutting branches off a tree in the back yard, and worse led to worse and the branch came back, and drove the chainsaw right into my dad's leg. He's alive and well, but he said that was the most peaceful he has ever felt, so I think he almose died. I'm just glad my mom works at the hospital and knows what she's doing.
Tree story: they are so lucky no one was hurt. My dad is a trained volunteer tree trimmer and works on a chainsaw crew. They had 2 men not paying attention (got way too close during a tree trimming job) and were almost crushed by a falling branch. One guy ended up in the ICU. Never try to take down huge trees on your own. 🙈
Had some idiots across the street take out the power for the area by trying to DIY tree trim two-three years ago. Guess the block got some free entertainment for two hours, one neighbor commenting that it was like watching Dumb and Dumber. I just noped out and left to find someplace with AC
I cut up a storm snapped birch a few years ago on my own. (50cm diameter at the base) But I made good use of ropes and cargo straps to secure the bastard first, and only cutting where both sides of the cut was free of torque loads, using the ropes and ratchets to turn the tree over to a safe position on the ground before cutting into any heavy sections.
Story 1: I love it when Entitled people turn others into Clock Watchers, it always has some kind of fun result Example; OP arrives 30 Minutes Early to Work and leaves 5 Minutes Early, Micro-managing Boss Demands that OP only work on the Dot, OP becomes a Clock Watcher and as a result gets less work done because of the Boss's "Work Policy"

Sidewalk Story: When Karen started to spray OP and her kids, she should have called the Police to report her for Assault, Assaulting a Minor and Child Endangerment... Spraying OP and kids is assault and trying to force them into the road despite the oncoming traffic is Child Endangerment... THEN, she should have called a Lawyer and Sued Karen...
And then the witch has them trespassed, the OP is cited for a false police report, and no one wins. Because if it was her property, or at least she believed in good faith it was, she may be in the right depending on what the local laws are. The entire thing is petty and stupid I know, don't have to say it, just the way that exchange could go. And seeing how she was, very likely to go.
@@sparkplug1018 Karen couldn't have them Trespassed (she could try, but the Police would tell her OP didn't Trespass) since at no time did they go past the area the City/County has set aside/designated for Sidewalks. That strip of land is effectively Public Property, NOT Karen's Private Property so anyone can walk there and Karen has no say in the matter at all...
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan Like I said, in good faith. Since it seems pretty obvious that no one knew exactly where the lines were till it was surveyed. And trust me, the cops don't know either. Contrary to popular belief they don't know everything. Especially something decided decades prior, that everyone obviously forgot about. That being said, of course none of the charges would stand once that became known, and Karen wouldn't be charged since she didn't know that either. Unless you can prove otherwise which is not likely. And by the way, that's a brief glimpse into what cops deal with ever day, provided by my wonderful wife. Honestly wonder which one of us has it worse, dealing with them as a cop, or dealing with them as a pilot lol.
@@sparkplug1018 OP and friends didn't go more than 3 or 4 feet off the road if that, and that is always Public Easement for future road widening/sidewalks...something all Officers should know...
My neighbors down the street had a few trees they wanted to take down. More neighbors near him must have said, "hold my beer." They said "we have chainsaws and a tractor." The tree fell In the wrong place - on the power lines. The power line pulled out the ends off two houses. The cost for one house was over $20,000 the cost of the other house was about the same. Sure do it yourself. Don’t use a professional. It’s cheaper!
Story 2: This Karen sounds like a food thief, the general Karma for Food Thieves is that the Food's owner spikes the Food with Extra Hot Chili, but in this case you could say that the Food was already spiked I like to imagine a Karen getting mad at OP for being a Poison addict LOL
I'd agree with food thief theory. She was likely used to doing it as well. I mean, even if you ignore the ghost peppers, it's entirely possible to get something else that you hate if you're taking a stranger's food. Though, if she was a food thief, she likely targeted that restaurant because she could eat most of the menu and the place was likely shortstaffed to the point that most workers would announce an order and then walk away to continue working on the next order, relying on the honesty policy.
The story about the tree I could feel OP's frustration and need to just disengage from the situation and let it happen. Being of rural German Descent I know EXACTLY the stubborn, cheap, hard headedness OP was talking about with how their parents are. My Opa was exactly that person and my Father is slowly turning into that person, my Oma is really stubborn; but since she was usually the one that cleaned up after my Opa's messes when he was still alive she's long since learned the value of getting a professional in cases like this instead of DIY'ing it
I am not German but my parents are a version of this that is even more infuriating to me. They seem unable to find professional up to the task, I sweep in and find them, call estimates, and they uhm and aaw all the way into being either late of forced to accept a higher price due to urgency. Or try to call friends to recommend people and then wait and wait and wait and wait and nothing comes of it but they keep repeating they're waiting for friend X to tell them about somebody because he's in the field.
Yes. Once Tree 4 and the Walnut tree were tangled, they should've gotten a professional. Crap like that can make setups that my dad referred to as a "Widowmaker", as it could easily come down at an erratic angle and could've easily killed anyone nearby. They were lucky it only crashed it things that could be repaired or replaced.
And that's before you put the chainsaw to the tree. The second year after I and my spouse moved into our house, a spring storm felled a birch across our front yard by snapping it's 50cm diameter trunk at 2m above ground. about 5% of the trunk was still connected to the tall stump. Before I started the borrowed chainsaw, I made damn sure to tie that bastard up good with multiple fresh .5 inch ropes and cargo ratchet straps to the trunk of another birch and a beech tree so that it couldn't rotate free. then I started cutting off the free branches from the top down, so I gradually increased the stability by removing the torque tension of those free branches and letting it settle on the branches sticking into the ground. Then I severed the connection to the stump and used the ropes and ratchet straps to rotate the trunk onto the cleared facing from a safe distance before cutting up the rest. It took a whole weekend to do safely.
Oof. That third story. Reminds me of the time that I talked to some friends years ago. They were talking about felling a tree and I suggested a service. They complained about cash. I told them that if they wanted to play the reverse lottery, that was on them and I'm staying away, but if they got the service, I'd chip in. They got the service.
I had a neighbor who was one of those "You kids get off my lawn" types. He worked hard every weekend in his yard and he kept his yard beautiful. It was, by a lot, the best looking yard on the black. The guy should have entered his lawn in Sunset's Best lawn in the west contest. One day in the first week of June he suffered a massive heart attack. It was close but he survived. However he would spend the next several weeks in the hospital. His wife would wake up and leave early in the morning and return home late. I don't think she would have noticed a 3 ring circus set up in her yard. Understandable, of course. Now it was my job to mow the lawn every Saturday because dad had terrible allergies and mowing the grass nearly killed him, so as soon as I was big enough it became my job. When I started I had to reach up, over my head to reach the handle of the mower. But by this time I'm a teenage and at last I could push the mower more efficiently. The first Saturday after his heart attack after I finished my yard I mowed my neighbors yard and did my best to keep it looking nice. No one asked me to do it, and I'm sure his wife didn't notice that the yard was staying nice, but I found out later, once he was allowed to return home he was expecting to see a jungle. He was still in no condition to fix that, and was even thinking about offering to pay me to clean up his yard. When he told me this I was really surprised because I thought he hated me. Anyway, he got home and was shocked to see the condition of his yard. I had not done nearly as good a job as he did, but I had done pretty okay. He limped over and asked me in what I took to be a rather hostile tone if I was the one "messing around in his yard." Scared I said I was not. But a few hours later his wife brought me lemon bars. He had asked the neighbors and they ratted me out. He wasn't angry at all. In fact he was really impressed. He asked if I would keep mowing his grass, which I agreed to do but I refused his offer of payment. I wasn't doing it for money or brownie points or even to make friends with the guy. I just did it because I knew he needed the help. He was an okay guy once you got past his cranky façade.
Story 4: Who knows Best? a Veteran in their Field who knows all the in's and out's of the work? or the Manager who only knows how to sit on their Butt? The Manager: "Me, Obviously" *OP watches as the Manager's works causes everything to collapse*
which is why it's most sensible to have middle management positions filled by having the workers nominate one of their own by vote of trust and then retrain that nominee for their new position instead of external recruitment or favouritism/grooming.
God, the dad in the third story reminds me of mine. He insists on doing things himself in order to save money and it ends up taking WAY longer than they’d need to instead of just hiring someone else. Really irritates my mom, too. I’m just waiting for something to go sideways as a result, and it worries me…
Story 3. I do as much as I can in house. There’s limits to that. If it poses risks to me or others around me, I turn the project over to a professional. If it’s mechanical, I do all of it. Trees, yeah that’s not my thing.
Story 1: Some people live to be angry. And have obsessive compulsive disorder. And think that the world must magically give them what they want, always. And think that everyone's clocks and watches are set to the same time as theirs!
That ultimate i told you so is my entire life. The amount of times a professional has told my parents they could have saved hundreds of dollars by listening to me is crazy
I'm terrified of cutting trees cuz if they're anywhere near power lines your dead. Also if I was there neighbor I definitely get some insurance on that barn after they told me they were going to take down those trees.
My grandpa's neighbors at a small row of apartments were removing a tree against a privacy fence between his yard and their parking lot. He kept telling them that the way they were doing it would result in it falling on the fence. They insisted they knew what they were doing. Guess who was right. At least it didn't damage anything on my grandparents property.
Wow that's a deal getting the trees professionally $12.000 I paid 1,500.00 for the removal of one tree. Should have hired it out just for the insurance!
Yeah, that is a lesson the previous owner of the house my BF and I bought in September needs to learn. Dude can't properly install a door to save his life and we're paying for his incompetence. I'm just glad I invested in a door with the frame when we replaced the back one.
There are two reason to hire an arborist to take down a tree: 1. They actually know what they're doing and 2. if anything does go wrong, chances are their business insurance will cover it. Also the OP's parents are super lucky that they weren't killed or injured.
Few things are worse to hear from a manager than an insistence on making major system changes when they have no clue why things are done the way they are. For instance, I had a director tell my manager to make my 5 hour live interactive walkthrough new user training on complex software into a recording and let the trainees watch it instead, so I would have that much more time to do other things. As if anyone would sit there for that long watching a video of someone else's training without being able to ask questions! They didn't get that most people would just let the video run in the background while they did other work or played on their phone, sign off on the training, and learn absolutely nothing from it.
Regarding the Red Lobster story, every manager should start out in the trenches. I certainly did with every managerial position I ever held. It makes quite a difference because you can jump in ANYWHERE when needed. I also always felt good about being able to tell my people, “I will never ask you to do anything I am not willing to do.” A word to the wise, never be a manager that just stands back and watches. You will be resented. Granted, you will have reports and “managerial” things to do, but recognize when your people need help and praise goes a long way! When my team reached or surpassed its goals I brought in treats for everyone whether I baked a cake or brownies or whatever. Sometimes I just treated them all to lunch. It was truly awesome! People give you their best when they know they’re appreciated.
You were the type of manager that was always my favorite kind to work for. All the good managers I've ever worked with were at businesses that promoted from within (rather than just hiring some random person into the role just because they have a fancy degree from somewhere). They already know what works well, what doesn't, they know the employees and their strengths, etc. Every one in awhile, an a-hole is promoted (just because they were better at sucking up to the big boss) or you have an employee who resents "taking orders" from someone who used to be a peer, but most of the time it worked so much better than bringing in a stranger who tries to change things around because they think they know better than the people who have been doing it successfully so far.
@@karenogush5622 I found that to be true as well. I learned from the best managers. It certainly holds true. When they bring in outsiders, they Always want to change up what’s working. Then complain when production goes to hell. However, I’m not one that’s afraid to go over their head to the higher-ups to let them know what is happening. Basically because I document every interaction attempting to tell that manager what actually works, whether it is me or another employee. These notices are sent up the chain of command. The fact that I was studying law at the time, put me in a good position so that everyone knew to let me know when they attempted to say something. (Document, document, document, it will always save you in the end. Who you spoke to, where, when and what about) if you have witnesses too, document that as well. Oh and thank you for the compliment!
@@silky0439 You're welcome! And yes, I agree to document, document, document so there is a paper trail when dealing with a manager who is doing a poor job of managing; otherwise it could come back to bite you in the butt if/when they try to fire you for insubordination.
@@karenogush5622 precisely! And you know THOSE types of managers always have retribution on their minds! However, when they got wind of my being a law student, it was always hysterical to watch them backtrack. I might have been a lowly supervisor at the time, but I had the bosses ear after that report. I learned early to CYA and that of my co-workers until I got my degree. We had fun making him sweat after that because we made sure that he saw us literally watching him. He quit about 2 months later. Lol.
story 2: basically sums up as follows: I stole your food cause i'm an entitled twat, when i bit into your food i found it was spicy like you tried to warn me, but i was to stupid to listen, now my mouth is burning and its all your fault.
I'm surprised the Karen in story 2 was even able to speak after eating something with the world's third spiciest pepper in it. Those suckers are measured at one million on the scoville scale (that's what's used to measure heat in peppers).
I beg to differ: in the last story, Karen doesn’t need a friend. I would not punish anyone by suggesting they be expected to spend ANY time in close proximity to such an evil shrew.
My friend told me about a food delivery driver who was the entiled one. She picked up food for a lovely old couple who were at high risk during COVID-19 from the grocery store she works at and when the woman came to drop off their groceries got offended by a sign on the old couples front lawn about police officers and supporting, their son was a cop who unfortunately was killed in while on duty a month before this incident. The woman took it upon herself to take the groceries out of her car and put them into the driveway and proceed to run them over a couple of times. She had no idea that there was video surveillance everywhere on the couples house and caught her in the act of running over the groceries. My friend was horrified by this woman's actions and got the video surveillance camera footage sent to her. She was promptly fired from the delivery job and the cops were looking for her for what she did. My friend personally delivered the groceries to the customers and this crazy former delivery driver showed up at the house and started harrassing my friend and the old couple and was arrested at the house.
That "Red Lobster" way comment reminded me of something that I learned in the Army. There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Army way.
Tree Story: OP's Dad was INSANELY Lucky... Professional Tree Fellers call a hung tree (what Dad got with tree #4 got tangled in a Branch of #5 and fell into the walnut) a Widow-Maker They call it that because a hung tree can come down at any time and in almost any direction and if you're in the way, it WILL kill you when it hits...making your wife/girlfriend/significant other a Widow...

She wasn't allergic and didn't go into anaphylactic shock? You just ruined the story... 😢 Also, the manager should've charged Karen for OP's food on top of her own, as they had to remake it.
That tree cutting story was scary. When my parents were needing to remove large trees I also wanted them to hire a professional. They did for the most difficult ones and put up scaffold for some others and Dad still managed to flatten half of a shed, but at least no injuries. It still freaks me out though.
One of my great uncles was killed while cutting down a tree. It's dangerous and I don't get why people have that save money mentality with something that can literally crush them to death.
Story One: I'd also add, "I have to leave with plenty of time to account for traffic, thus I wait here. If you want it to come out of the oven & be brought over as CLOSE to 5:30 as possible you have to understand that traffic will not always be ideal. So to give you your food EXACTLY at 5:30 I have to leave with PLENTY of time for any red lights, slow drivers, or wrecks, thus I leave about 4:25."
Hey!!! DarkFluff how dare you ask such a stupid question?? “How dare the Karen blame OP for eating the wrong sandwich!!!!!” If it wasn’t for these wonderful Karen’s you wouldn’t have a job and I wouldn’t be here doing a spit take with my coffee RIGHT!!!! Lol.
When the church deacon was spraying the children to force them into oncoming traffic, OP should have (while protecting the children), yelled out "What Would Jesus Do? Suffer the Little Children To Come Unto Me, For Of Such Is the Kingdom of God! Inasmuch As Ye Have Done It Unto the Least of These, My Brethren, Ye Have Done It Unto Me! You just HOSED JESUS INTO THE STREET! WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC! YOU JUST TRIED TO KILL JESUS!" And then call the cops, and report the assault on minors. Oh, and call her pastor, and report her to the pastor, as a "Bad example of a Christian, who is driving people away from the church, as they associate Christianity with her horrible behavior, including attacking and endangering children."
They say pride comes before a fall. It certainly does if you decide to cut down a tree and don't know what you're doing besides "Hit tree. Tree fall. Brag about being" PROPER MAN! " "
Story 3: 1500 euros to remove 5 trees? That's a steal. I paid $800 to have a big trim of my gigantic avocado tree. Plus the workers got to keep all the avocados.
story number 3 first i thought damn that all sounds so familiar, but then not any more. i worked as a tree worker for 4 years, and every time my parents needs a tree gone in their yard or drive way etc. they ask me to do it. but beechwood trees and 5 of them, so close to many things. i would never do that alone, and i dont have the right equiment anymore. for how i understand you would climp those trees and cut them down from top to bottom, but would not be so cheap as it was for them not in germany. besides it would be highly illigal to cut them down when they are healthy.
Honestly I was surprised to hear the estimate being only around €500 to remove the 5 trees especially with the limited area that was a valuable for them to be Felled in. I do have a few friends who are both a professional lumberjack and another who is an arborist that specializes in tree removal and relocation. And yes some smaller trees can actually be removed or relocated to another area of the persons property or to another property miles away.
The red lobster one hit hard. I work at an unnamed oil change place where the process is also designed by suits and ties. They state we have to have more people talking to customers on a service window than techs actually working on cars. No one follows that, working window is so much faster. So we always put at least 2 people on cars instead of following the 2 windows 1 tech
Story 1: I love that the Karen just resigned herself to accept defeat because she KNEW OP was technically right. Story 2: That Karen simply didn't want to admit her fault. Some people are just TOO proud to admit they aren't always in the right. Story 3: At least the parents learned their lesson (or at least I hope so) and the neighbor understood it had been an accident. Still, OP's parents were WAY too stubborn and paid the price. Sometimes, hiring professionals is the ONLY good choice. Story 4: So glad that OP doesn't work in restaurants anymore. Nothing is worse than managers thinking they know better simply because they're in charge. Story 5: I think she might just be a grumpy old woman who hates kids and just wants to leave this world.
Several years ago there was a charity fund raising "EAT THE HOTTEST CHILLI" competition, with St. Johns ambulance crews on standby. It was widely advertised as a CHARITY EVENT. Bring your friends, raise some funds and have a laugh. It also stated that if you took part, not only were they extremely hot, but the meal was free. Entrants were cautioned at every stage. But a Karen appeared, poo, pooed all the warnings and started stuffing her face. A few minutes later, she had a violent reaction, collapsed, going red then purple in the face. After being treated by the emergency crews she was taken to hospital. About a month after this, she tried to sue the fund raisers, but of course this got thrown straight out of court, when it was pointed out that on the entry form, ( which she had dated and signed ) that as it was entirely voluntary, under no circumstances could anybody except themselves be held responsible for any outcomes. DOH!!
that tree story, it's not "try to save a dime and ending up cost a dollar" but more like "try to save Rupiah (0.000067 Dollar) and ending up cost a Kuwait Dina (3.27 Dollar)"
As the son of a tree surgeon, with a fairly decent knowledge of how to fell a tree, I still wouldn't even try without any practice, that s*** is hella dangerous
I ended up in the ER 11 years ago while severe bleeding during my pregnancy . The nurse lectured me for being an unwed pregnant teenager and made me wait in the lobby 3 hours as punishment. I was actually 26 years old and been married almost 2 years. By the time I was seen and an ultrasound was done, the baby had miscarried and already passed from my body in the many trips to the bathroom. Because there was nothing on the ultrasound, the nurse claimed I was lying about ever being pregnant and just wanted pain drugs. I only asked for Tylenol due to a migraine from all the crying, losing my 4th baby. She said horrible things about me to the staff and even told my husband I lied about being pregnant. Then another nurse enters with Tylenol and apologizing for the loss of my baby as my file stated I was in there a month prior with a positive pregnancy test and a ultrasound confirming I was 10 weeks pregnant, making me 14 weeks at that moment. The horrible nurse rushed out of the room and when I filed a complaint, she lied and said the files must have been mixed up. It was torture.
Here, a sidewalk means that snow and ice must be removed by the owners within 48h. My neighbourhood used to have very few sidewalks but revitalisation means more sidewalks.
Story 3. As OP said before, since the father transferred ownership of the property to OP and another relative, they have the rights to decide how the trees will be removed and dangerous for the father attempt to do the job on his own.
If Karen's going to go up to someone in a food shop and steal their food right from under them, $10 says she steals from the employee refrigerator at work too!
There are many projects around the house that you can do yourself, but some projects require specialist knowledge to do properly. Such as wiring your house for electricity, plumbing. and felling large trees. Some of these projects require legal knowledge so your house doesn't violate building codes, and a house with code violations can't be insured, meaning you can't get a mortgage. Nor can you sell it.
13:43 Red lobster, they’re the only restaurant on planet Earth that has the bomb cheddar bay biscuits…A minute later *starts aggressively headbanging* Hell yeah, I called it!
Story 3 :- I think I must have the most twisted sense of humour…. I found that was probably the funniest story I’ve seen in all the different channels I’ve watched ! I’ve laughed SO much, I don’t know what hurts more, my stomach or my cheeks!!!!
"The Red Lobster Way" is almost _exactly_ what happened the other day. Supermarket make your own pizza counter where we not only take orders but also have a ready-made section if people want to just grab whatever and go. That section holds 105 pizzas. We also, on busy days, make a backup of another 105 pizzas to put out if the ready-made section gets completely screwed. Everything handmade on the premises and it's _not_ a quick job. So while I'm on break (30 minutes), the managers come round and see the empty ready-made section. We've been hammered all day due to a sick call that _they_ never bothered to get cover for. No time to make for the ready-made, all we've done is take and fill orders. So they tell my co-worker, THE ONLY OTHER PERSON IN THE BUILDING TRAINED TO DO THIS JOB, that he's to make both the ready-made secion and backup while I'm on my break. For those not interested in doing that math, that's 210 pizzas in 30 minutes. Which equates to a rate of one pizza every 8.57 seconds. Managers should _not_ be allowed to manage anything they can't do themselves.
Story 5's ending comment 'I think she just needs a friend'. It was a hilarious comment but on hindsight was also probably true. People turn unfriendly when they don't have friends.
Anyone who is suprised that "Karens" steal stuff and accuses the owner of the property, for any bad stuff associated with the theft, has clearly never heard about "witch trials"; People with power opress people without power, whenever the people with power encounters any difficulties, the people without power is accused for the difficulties.
Dropped 4 dead pines at my Mom's place in the mountains- 100ft tall. Not nearly enough room to drop them whole. Grabbed my climbers & chainsaw & hooked 1/2 way up to drop them in chunks. Took about 1 day to drop & stack it all with my sons helping.
1st story, I drive long haul truck and run across this crap all the time, Karen's = receivers in this case, Walmart distribution centers can be among the worst, Costco, Lowes, Home Depot and Targets are pretty chill though.
felled trees wrecking shit is very normal. my dad tried to take down an unsightly tree bc it blocked a lot of sun on the patio, and of course he didn't wedge it right, didn't get the angle right, and ended up with a busted chainsaw, a broken window, downed drain, busted roof, damaged siding, and 2 saplings uprooted and smashed. luckily, he didn't kill anyone with it, but he did kill his pride. of course he said "i don't know what happened! it's like the tree wanted to smash the house"
3rd story... I had a tree do that for me... and luckily just took out the top rail of a chainlink fence... and I had a spare rod to slide in... My mom (who told me to take the tree down), would never have noticed, if I hadn't told her! just means that I have gone "nope" to any other tree requests she has.
Interesting how many stupid people think that when there is no sidewalk, their property goes all the way to the road. There is always a public easement for people to walk on...and it usually goes 25 ft past the centre line of the road. Depending where you live. Or you can look it up for free on the GIS Survey.
Last story: The VERGE of the road (in communities W/OUT sidewalks) ALWAYS belongs to the city/county/township, etc. It's where they put their telephone poles, junction boxes, and other items maintained BY THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES. It's why THEY are responsible for mowing the verge and/or maintaining the drainage ditches for rain run off. It is *never* included in the property boundaries.

But I made good use of ropes and cargo straps to secure the bastard first, and only cutting where both sides of the cut was free of torque loads, using the ropes and ratchets to turn the tree over to a safe position on the ground before cutting into any heavy sections.

Example; OP arrives 30 Minutes Early to Work and leaves 5 Minutes Early, Micro-managing Boss Demands that OP only work on the Dot, OP becomes a Clock Watcher and as a result gets less work done because of the Boss's "Work Policy"

Sidewalk Story: When Karen started to spray OP and her kids, she should have called the Police to report her for Assault, Assaulting a Minor and Child Endangerment...
Spraying OP and kids is assault and trying to force them into the road despite the oncoming traffic is Child Endangerment...

And then the witch has them trespassed, the OP is cited for a false police report, and no one wins. Because if it was her property, or at least she believed in good faith it was, she may be in the right depending on what the local laws are.

I like to imagine a Karen getting mad at OP for being a Poison addict LOL
I'd agree with food thief theory. She was likely used to doing it as well. I mean, even if you ignore the ghost peppers, it's entirely possible to get something else that you hate if you're taking a stranger's food. Though, if she was a food thief, she likely targeted that restaurant because she could eat most of the menu and the place was likely shortstaffed to the point that most workers would announce an order and then walk away to continue working on the next order, relying on the honesty policy.
Story 2: Stupidity was actually physically painful for once.

Or try to call friends to recommend people and then wait and wait and wait and wait and nothing comes of it but they keep repeating they're waiting for friend X to tell them about somebody because he's in the field.
story 3 made me incredibly nervous, this is why you strap the higher points of trees to anchor points to pull the tree in a specific direction.
It took a whole weekend to do safely.
he should have used ropes too help the trees fall the right way
The Manager: "Me, Obviously"
*OP watches as the Manager's works causes everything to collapse*
which is why it's most sensible to have middle management positions filled by having the workers nominate one of their own by vote of trust and then retrain that nominee for their new position instead of external recruitment or favouritism/grooming.
I love that the neighbor said, "um thanks but no thanks" within a fraction of a second 😆
Karen's should be nice to delivery people. They can do things to your food like spit on it or worse.
I'm just glad I invested in a door with the frame when we replaced the back one.
the smallest things can make my day. thank you for referring to the op as they when talking about them, it means a lot more than you may think 🥰
Lol.

I beg to differ: in the last story, Karen doesn’t need a friend. I would not punish anyone by suggesting they be expected to spend ANY time in close proximity to such an evil shrew.
I think Karen just wants to live an antisocial life and die peacefully alone.
Good I hope she got time in prison.

story number 3 first i thought damn that all sounds so familiar, but then not any more. i worked as a tree worker for 4 years, and every time my parents needs a tree gone in their yard or drive way etc. they ask me to do it. but beechwood trees and 5 of them, so close to many things. i would never do that alone, and i dont have the right equiment anymore. for how i understand you would climp those trees and cut them down from top to bottom, but would not be so cheap as it was for them not in germany. besides it would be highly illigal to cut them down when they are healthy.
The Karen in the last story needs way more than a friend. 😉 😉
The red lobster one hit hard. I work at an unnamed oil change place where the process is also designed by suits and ties. So we always put at least 2 people on cars instead of following the 2 windows 1 tech

Anyone who is suprised that "Karens" steal stuff and accuses the owner of the property, for any bad stuff associated with the theft, has clearly never heard about "witch trials"; People with power opress people without power, whenever the people with power encounters any difficulties, the people without power is accused for the difficulties.

felled trees wrecking shit is very normal. my dad tried to take down an unsightly tree bc it blocked a lot of sun on the patio, and of course he didn't wedge it right, didn't get the angle right, and ended up with a busted chainsaw, a broken window, downed drain, busted roof, damaged siding, and 2 saplings uprooted and smashed. luckily, he didn't kill anyone with it, but he did kill his pride. of course he said "i don't know what happened! it's like the tree wanted to smash the house"
My friend grows ghost peppers. I bit into a fresh one on a dare. Mistakes were made. I suffered for an hour.
She stole your food. But you didn't stop her from eating ghost peppers! Karma thief!
I can't find the Email. I have a really good story I was reminded of I want to share from the entitled side.
Good evening Darkfluff
Have a great weekend everyone
Damn 50 foot tall trees there that crazy the trees are so small there
Last story: The VERGE of the road (in communities W/OUT sidewalks) ALWAYS belongs to the city/county/township, etc. It's where they put their telephone poles, junction boxes, and other items maintained BY THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES. It's why THEY are responsible for mowing the verge and/or maintaining the drainage ditches for rain run off. It is *never* included in the property boundaries.
