Jackie is fortunate...If I was OP, the moment I heard about (and saw Proof of) her misconduct, ESPECIALLY the HIPPA Record Violations and recording Seniors without their knowledge or Permission, I'd have very quietly (and completely off the record) told the HR people that not only am I recommending Termination WITH Cause, but I'm also STRONGLY suggesting a call to the Federal DA's Office to have them open an Investigation into whether or not she should be slapped with SERIOUS Federal Felony Charges...
In short, once I saw the Evidence against her, I'd be doing my level best (WITHOUT breaking the Law myself) to twist the serrated dagger deeply planted in Jackie's back as viciously as I possibly could because that's the best way to protect the Union from the inevitable splash damage of the consequences of her actions...

Story 2 - I was a shop steward in a Six Flags park about 40 years ago. Some employees in food service had the very strange idea that shop stewards were supposed to testify untruthfully when the stewards observed the employee stealing money from their till. One actually hit me (it was a 16-year-old) and it ended up in Juvenile Court after I made a formal complaint to the police.

At night last position at a major university, I had a 5 day crash training course. On the last day I inquired about a tray of papers on the corner of the desk. She said those weren't important. So on Monday, I start familiarizing myself with the office and I look at the papers. "Holy sh*t!" and I call my boss. The papers were all forms with social security numbers on them that she was supposed to have removed and sent to HR a year ago. Needless to say, my priorities changed and I was in haul ass mode and went through every file, box, and drawer.

Retired government worker here. It's virtually impossible to fire somebody on the spot, no matter what law was broken. Best case scenario at minimum, three months on PAID ADMIN LEAVE while there's an investigation, multiple hearings and then they get terminated. What was described in the story is exactly the process on how to fire a government employee.

Ran into a number of people who were hired as contractors on military bases who said they were hired over the phone. Mostly skilled retiree's looking for a few extra bucks. They were told to report to locations on base and go to work only no one ever told them what the work was. They had no contact number for the place that hired them. They all said the paychecks always came in and no one ever contacted them. Some had been showing up for years and getting paid. I worked for a telco and these guys would get so bored they would work on the telephone equipment and disconnect our computer lines that were not in the records. When this happened we always knew there was a new hire that would be desperate for some thing to do and disconnect our monitoring equipment.

Had a similar experience to Story 1 roughly 3 years ago.
Our project finished on a Friday, boss tells me he'll have me reassigned on Monday and just be here at normal time. Came in, emailed him and waited. And waited. Come lunch, emailed him to tell him I'm still waiting, then when I left for the day emailed that I'd talk to him tomorrow. Went 4 days of this before he called me laughing as he'd been meaning to tell me to I would start working on X project and he was getting me reassigned to it, but it was taking some time and he kept getting sidetracked when going to tell me. He just said "Guess you're lucking out this week, just keep coming in like you have."
Didn't start actual work until the following Wednesday due to IT issues taking a while for my access to all systems. Got a good way through Zelda BotW by that point too.
    I enjoyed it a lot, but I can't imagine doing it for a year+ :D

The last part of the last story reminded me of something that happened at a previous job. Apparently, you are also not able to recall an email after someone has already replied to it. Well, our CFO sent out an email to the company, referring to a new client as a "whale", and how we should prioritize them. Problem is that she CC'd the wrong "John", accidentally sending it to one of our clients, rather than one of the employees. A coworker of mine had responded with a generic "woohoo" message before she was able to recall it. So what happened? They scolded my coworker for "not noticing" the wrong person was CC'd before replying, putting all the blame on him. That was also the company where the CEO blamed me for a database being wiped out, since it was one of our clients who I was working on stuff for, only to find out that it was him who wiped it. Naturally, I never received an apology, nor did he ever own up to it.

Story 1: I remember a story similar to this from when I worked in payroll. An employee's temp contract was ending, and the pay system generated an automatic message warning my pay team colleague of this. She emailed the temp's manager, asking him if the temp's contract would be renewed or not, so we knew whether to terminate her on the pay system or extend the end date. The panicked manager immediately phoned my colleague to say the temp had resigned months ago.
What had happened was that the temp resigned around the time her team had been transferred from one branch to another. To cover her bases, the temp emailed her resignation letter to her old manager and his deputy and the new boss and his deputy, so four people received her resignation letter. Somehow *all four* of these people convinced themselves that one of the others had forwarded the resignation letter to us in the pay team, so none of them did.
Of course, the (former) temp had to repay the money once we got in contact with her. She just claimed she hadn't checked her bank statements in enough detail to notice she was still being paid by us. Yeah, right.

(5:12) What was writing the serial killers in prison supposed to accomplish? Those people looked human beings in the eye and caused the life to drain from them. They then were tried and publicly demonized, but maybe it would have been her letter that would have opened their hearts to accepting [insert preferred theism here] into their lives.

email recall is something different. microsoft exchange allows that. but only for mails internally on the same exchange.
if it's sent somewhere else... have fun, that is permanent.
the other feature with recall within 30 seconds, that's something gmail has: but it just keeps the mail for another 30 seconds in case you decide otherwise. but it's not a real recall.

Like story 2) a credit union in my area became union. The day it got passed. One guy decided to do everything he wasn't supposed to and thought the union would back him up. Well he was fired. 1) they didn't have a union rep yet because the contract hadn't been finalized (it can take 2 to 10 to finalize) and 2) he broke so many rule there was no saving him. Then he tried file a wrongful termination suit since he voted for the union which the company despised. That went as well as you could imagine.
The union was out within a year before the contract was final. They hated money coming out of their checks for union dues without much return.
Unions have their uses but not much on the banking scene.
