last ever oddswitch, sorry for those who like this, but it seems like most of my audience just isn't attracted to it, i'll probably do short versions on youtube shorts, thanks to those who watched them all❤️
to anyone still watching this, I can vouch that the JWick Blacks on my board sound and feel amazing stock and i've had them for several months now and still no spring ping. I wanted a switch that was much heavier than the reds that came with my board and the JWick Blacks felt and sounded soooo good. If you're a heavy typist looking for a cheap, smooth, stock linear switch, the JWick Blacks will not disappoint
Both companies make really good switches. Gateron has been killing it lately and JWK def expanding their portfolio. Love what both are doing in the market.
Im here for the last time of oddswitch and end it with a bang. Jwick really makes alot of budget switches but are really good, it makes a competition in the budget segment of the switches to fight against gateron and akko. I hope these competition will make better switches with cheaper prices
Thank you for this video Lewis. I watched the complete video over 7 times for research about GMK Mizu and for research on the Jwick Black. I will use this information to build an amazing custom keyboard. Thank you for making such an awesome community of kind and intelligent people. This series will never be forgotten.
@@papihuey its my first mechanical keyboard, so my opinion might not be the best. I bought 115 jwck switches from kinetic labs, i threw in around 80 of them on my 75% keyboard, and some of them had horribly bent pins, and the copper leaf spring inside the switch was messed up. the switch is great, but i over-lubed them like crazy, so its kinda my fault. overall, i'd give it a good 8/10
I just installed these switches today and they do feel and sound great, but the RGB is non existent with them in my situation with non shine through keycaps and south facing led's. I also went ahead and lubed the switches before installing and they sound even better when you hand lube them since factory doesn't have much lube and there isn't lube in the base of the switch stock.
I like this series Lewis!! It’s dope. At first glance the Jwick sounds very similar from my iPhone speaker anyway.. but I’m sure the feel is dif in real life! I wonder if getting a longer spring for Jwicks would help them feel like the oil kings. Especially since Jwicks with even very dope springs is still way less expensive! Great vid man
I use JWK Blacks in some of my builds but spring swapped to TX 16mm springs, I can assure you that they feel a lot better with longer springs (in my opinion at least).
I'm thinking of adding a longer spring and MMSwitch Stems inside of JWICK V2 Black, these should transform them into something more premium. I ordered JWICK just today and have to wait to test it.
k.techs actually priced oil kings really cheap for a while (and didnt call it a sale) but changed it to the normal price they will probably do the same with kiwis when they get a restock

Sad to see that this is going to be the last oddswitch. You can probably do something similar like oddswitch shorts just comparing the sounds and material.
I bought 270pcs of oil kings when they went on sale in my country. I chose oil kings because I wanted to use cherry profile keycaps on my north facing led keyboards.

I have a board with the gat oil kings, and the gats come with lube on the sides! It sounds so amazing. After hearing the JWICK though, i actually prefer it over the oil kings.. interesting
To be honest the oil kings sound a little better but due to how cheat the jwicks are I would say that jwicks would be more worth it considering theres only a little sound difference.

Good video. I suggest not using a kbd67 lite for sound comparisons, it makes everything sound deeper. Which I personally like, but not for comparisons lol
@@kittykittygumdrops I'm not sure if the feel and sound is the same because the transparent top is smokey (I believe it's PC instead of nylon), so expect some differences. The switch is called "JWK Ultimate Black V2".

not sure what the price for jwicks were during this vid release, but the gaterons sound better and the price difference at the time of this comment make the jwicks a nope.
