tbh both of the switches sounded really similar, the only difference I heard from the video is the aqua kings has a little higher pitch compare to the ice candies. would love to try the ice candies cause the cheaper price.
That would probably be because the Ice Candies are a long pole switch? That clean bottom out sound is great!
I just ordered a set of Ice Candies, thank you for this video! Enjoy your content. I found that the AquaKings had a slight slight binding in the handful I tested so I went with the Ice Candies. And I agree that the Iced Candies really didn't sound different when I lubed them and this may be the first time I don't feel the need to lube the switches.

10 seconds into the sound test I decided. Especially for the price tecsee ice candies just seem like the much better option, half the price an just the slightest differences and even some things I like better. Now to decide between ice candies, diamonds, or ruby v2s… if anyone has any recomendations out of those please share thoughts
Everglide Aqua Switches also have an option of 55g
the aqua kings are a lot cheaper now so they are around the same price as the ice candies.
Gat has the north pole switches now too, you should do a 3 way comparison. IDk why and its weird but when testing some diff switches I love tecsee's blue velvet stem in a gat milky shell. Im sure another switch stock similar but sounds really nice and creamy with that long pole and super smooth.

So far the clear switches are Aqua Kings, Ice Candy, Feker Crystal, TTC Frozen, Kailh Jellyfish, Candy Raindrop, and TTC Heart.
At least that I know of.

on the graphics you list the spring weights of the two switches as their actuation force. just want to mention that the actuation force of the candies and aqua kings will be less than the stated bottom out force.
Hmmm... What about comparing some of the other Akko or Tecsee budget options? Or maybe consider adding a *third* switch, like budget, mid-range, and high-end? I'm really enjoying this series so far!
Love the aqua kings, might have to grab some. Idk if its just me but it sounded like it had more of a unique "pop"
on divinikey there is an option for an UHMWIPE stem for the ice candies, which I have heard is very smooth, would this make the ice candy switch more viable stock compared to the aqua king?

Cobalt switch and TTC wild switch, are still the best sound switch I've ever had.

I'd like to see a comparison between Alpaca V2s (sort if the gold standard linear) vs marshmallow switches. Personal bias here because I'm trying to decide which ones to use 🙃
havent used ice candies but my batch of aqua kings had 25 out of 110 switches that were doa. the leaves of the switches would not stay seated in the bottom housing. when i would re seat them it would result in a very audible ticking sound after the switch was reassembled. i would definitely try the cheaper ice candies first

ticking sound can be solved by lubing behind the leaf :)

its called a stem holder!

This isn't a comparison but can you review gateron cjs? Based on what I heard they are a ink black and pom durock frankenswitch and also factory polished. According to keyboard they are smoother than tangies while being almost as deep as box ink blacks. They seem like a top 1 switch for only 65 cents but there are not many reviews on them
I have those, have not tried many linear switches but these are super smooth. I have them on my keychron q1 which are more clacky than thoccy for me. I didn't film them either since I heard that they are so tight that you can't really film them either. Overall 9/10 because they will screw up the RGB.

I have a regular CJ, it's slightly less smooth than a L+F Tangie.
The Dustproof one is just as smooth though.
I have them. They are top tier. And with some lube in the top housing where the stem makes contact on the upstroke, you can take out almost all of the clack. They sound deeper than my whipped creams (and are WAY smoother).

I prefer the sound of the Ice candies over the Aquakings because the Ice candies has a slightly deeper sound signature (and also its cheaper)
Could you do a "odd switch comparison" between jwick blacks and alpacas ? They look very similar but one is almost double the price

Sound tests should be mic near keyboard and mic where you ears are on normal typing position. Switches sound nicer when mic is closer but nobody types with their faces on the keyboard so a mic on regular typing distance is more representative of what you actually hear.
This video would have been really nice a few months ago when I was trying to figure out the differences lol
Do JWICK Ultimate Blacks and V2 Alpacas.
Alpacas are nice, but the JWICK are almost as good for a fraction of the price.
