I’m not a Saints fan, but I’ve always thought Carr was a pretty decent QB & was an improvement on the QB carousel the Saints had the couple years before Carr arrived. The Saints should really try & get out of their cap hell though, cause it’s awfully tough to improve the team simply through the draft. If they have to eat a couple of bad seasons in order to do so, it’s something they should consider.

The funny thing is he was undefeated against the Saints until last year, and he only played them in 2022 because of the 17th game. If we were still on a 16 game schedule he would be at 29/32 with the Saints being his safety net lol

It’s such a hard record to achieve. Usually if you’re bad you don’t even get the opportunity to lose to everyone. Otherwise Ryan Leaf would’ve set the record much sooner than anyone could have.
Well, he was on one team for nearly a decade with a bad defense the whole time and a new coaching staff about every year & a half with low key player retention, not to mention a broken leg and a stadium move... If you think about it, that might provide maximum opportunity for this outcome. Not too many QBs could have adapted so frequently with any notable level of success and yet he had success.

I'm not so much "defending" him as I am pointing out the inaccurate takes that I see people posting. The dude gets far too much hate. Most teams in the league would have been lucky to have had him as their QB the past 10 years, as the Raiders were. They straight up squandered his time there, then did him dirty on the way out like it was his fault, because they didn't want to pay him, when really it was aloof ownership and unreliable coaching situations to blame. Leaf is about the polar opposite of Carr in every measurable way (and immeasurable), so he isn't really a valid comparison.

That’s the thing about every “most losses” type stat. You have to be fairly good to ever play enough to have the opportunity to lose that many times and keep your job.
As a Raider Fan that actually knows Carr's Stats... His best year was his 9th year. So he was getting better, but he was 9 years in after having to learn 3 different playbooks from 3 different coaches. @Best Carr was wasted talent put in an unstable environment. @Worse he got watchable way too late in his career.

We have no QB right now because of this misguided sentiment making it's way into decision making circles... Say what you will, but having Carr last year rather than what we ended up with would have landed LV in the playoffs. And it's looking like we might end up with Russell Wilson, who absolutely cratered in Denver. (And although he wouldn't necessarily crater in LV playing for the league minimum... He's just such a phony....Which I think is why he got the boot from Seattle and then so quickly from Denver.)... But anyway, Carr was certainly better than what we've got now, I swear Brady charmed Mark Davis and got him to give up on Carr just when things could have begun to work out in the positive.
