Me too, Adam Archuleta, Deion, Jeff George, Trung Candidate, McNabb, Josh Norman had 1 good year with us and was average at 16 17 mil a year, Bruce Smith, he was alright but at the tail end of his career, we had some good ones but ones that sucked more, Kendall Reyes, and one orher signed and JayGruden said we got 2 interior guys instead of Calais Campbell who was a beast still 7 or 8 years ago, so basically we got 2 suck players at cheap Bruce Allen prices instead of paying 1 really productive player Bruce would say you want to play here because of the history of the Redskins so take our discount, even low balled Kirk so he left, cut Swearinger for calling out the lazy practices, cut Ricky Jean dude because he was a Scot McCloughan guy and called out bs on something in the organization, he was ok not great but effective,I can go on for hours but I won't 😢😂😂

A number of these bad signings was the failure to understand what system made them successful with their previous teams. Don't just chase the name and stats, know what made them successful.

It's worth pointing out the Andre Rison was cut for two reasons: First reason was his on the field performance. He simply wasn't good in Cleveland. The second reason was his beef with literally all of Cleveland's fans and rubbing salt in the wound that Baltimore was about to steal their team

I was ready to complain if anyone but Haynesworth would've been at the top. There is a few more to add to the bust list based on last year: Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo, Panthers RB Miles Sanders, Panthers TE Hayden Hurst, Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Shuster, Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and I hate to say it, Bills LB Von Miller, even though injuries slowed him down in 2023.
From what I heard about the Albert Haynesworth situation is that he went from playing on a 4-3 Defense with Tennessee to playing on a 3-4 Defense with Washington, which he HATED. That's why he struggled there and getting into it with the head coach.
I'd like a vid on 5th year options. Players like daniel jones where the player was signed after the 5th yr option, and was a bad investment and players like Patrick Queen and Josh Jacobs, where a 5th yr option wasn't picked up and were also bad investments.

Was Le'veon Belll washed when he got to NY? Possibly. But here are some rankings and stats from the Jets 2019 season: 29th in passing yards 5.4 passing yards per play 27th in passing touchdown 23rd in interceptions 31st in rushing yards 3.3 rushing yards per play 32nd in rushing touchdowns 31st in point scored With the #2 rated defense in the leauge. All of this to say: Bell might have been washed, but he wasn't the problem. That offensive line was atrocious. If NY had focused on drafting an offensive line with a new rookie under center, they would have been fine with Bell as a servicable running back.
Some of the honorable mentions are examples of desperation by a team. It's not that this player is worth that money, but we need a player of at least their talent so we will pay them as if they are a higher talent and assume that is the case. Its a move usually done by someone desperate to fill the shortcomings of their drafting and free agency finds from a season before, or to patch the roster they obtained from someone else. There's only so much talent to go around but to bid against yourself for a player you know and everyone knows is a reach is a quick way for someone to reach for your contract as GM/HC and tear it up.

For me, I do take injury into consideration. Being a former player and injuring myself, it's nearly impossible to get out of your head and to ever be the same player before you were injured.
My heart didn't break, it SHATTERED when Foles got hurt in Jacksonville. Lifelong Eagles fan, and he's one of maybe three players that I wished well when they departed. I just wanted him to live his best life!!
A number of these bad signings was the failure to understand what system made them successful with their previous teams. Don't just chase the name and stats, know what made them successful.

Most defensive players who leave never amount to much. Bill was always able to put people in the right spot to make big plays for them, but without that it's rare they shine.

To be fair to Nandi, he played on the left side of the field only in Oakland and Philly thought he was a shutdown corner that could travel with the best receiver (ala Darelle Revis). It was a bad system fit, but no one is crying for Nandi, he married Kerry Washington.

Some of these free agent signings don't always have to do with players underperforming it sometimes is due to stars going to bad teams, nmadi was a great zone corner but when he signed with the eagles they had him play more man and press than he ever played in oakland.

It's worth pointing out the Andre Rison was cut for two reasons: First reason was his on the field performance. He simply wasn't good in Cleveland. The second reason was his beef with literally all of Cleveland's fans and rubbing salt in the wound that Baltimore was about to steal their team
I'm starting to think most free agent signings in the NFL end up being busts, that's why I don't know why free agency is such a big deal in the NFL, most never live up to the money they get or just flat out suck
I think a lot of it stems from how big of a deal it was when free agency became a thing and how it allowed teams to quickly rebuild

I was ready to complain if anyone but Haynesworth would've been at the top. There is a few more to add to the bust list based on last year: Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo, Panthers RB Miles Sanders, Panthers TE Hayden Hurst, Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Shuster, Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and I hate to say it, Bills LB Von Miller, even though injuries slowed him down in 2023.
From what I heard about the Albert Haynesworth situation is that he went from playing on a 4-3 Defense with Tennessee to playing on a 3-4 Defense with Washington, which he HATED. That's why he struggled there and getting into it with the head coach.

All of this to say: Bell might have been washed, but he wasn't the problem. That offensive line was atrocious. If NY had focused on drafting an offensive line with a new rookie under center, they would have been fine with Bell as a servicable running back.

Some of the honorable mentions are examples of desperation by a team. It's not that this player is worth that money, but we need a player of at least their talent so we will pay them as if they are a higher talent and assume that is the case. Its a move usually done by someone desperate to fill the shortcomings of their drafting and free agency finds from a season before, or to patch the roster they obtained from someone else. There's only so much talent to go around but to bid against yourself for a player you know and everyone knows is a reach is a quick way for someone to reach for your contract as GM/HC and tear it up.
