@@the_algorithm I think the freaking out about drafting Penix is dumb... Cousins is interim at best, and this was the best chance at a good first-round QB the Falcons will have for a while. Even if it's dumb, I do get freaking out (when they spent on Kirk and they want to win now) given that there was defensive talent they could've taken...

The fear OP has is McCarthy keeps his job. If he does well, that means McCarthy is far LESS likely to get thrown off a cliff. If anything, going 8-9, or worse is the dream scenario. It finally means Jerry will realize McCarthy isn't the coach, fire him, and move on.

Also my economics talking, but hyperinflation requires a 50% monthly increase, so roughly 13000% or put another way, items costing 130 times more than normal inflation. Simply that's not going to happen in America and also doesn't happen when price caps are put in place. This has been a basic economics minute brought to you by my useless college degree.

The biggest fear EVERY fan base can have: injuries, especially the season ending type.
It matters not if your team is a contender or participating in the "Tank Bowl", you want your players to be healthy. Yes, even if your team is tanking, if any of your players are performing well, you have better leverage in the trade market. For contenders, it's pretty obvious why you want your team to be healthy. Injuries can seriously put a damper on any aspirations, and the worst part is that injuries are not exactly predictable. You can do anything to stay healthy, but it only takes one errant hit or awkward landing to end your season.

The Steelers still have won more regular season games than any team since the merger. They have appeared in the most AFC title games and somehow luck their way into almost greatness for the last decade.
