Don't understand all the minshew hate. We had Jimmy g last year lol. Minshew is a cheap bridge qb who almost made playoffs without JT most of the year. Was solid on philly too. We're definitely drafting one hopefully with our 2nd or trading back up into the 1st. Daniels is a pipedream. Now go get a CB at 13 and our D will be scary especially if Tyree Wilson develops. This may be a BRILLIANT move for the Raiders. It could be a disaster if the Raiders gave up what they would have to give up for Jayden Daniels. Yes, Jayden is probably better than Trey Lance, but we don't know that and the risk is huge if Jayden isn't all he's cracked up to be. Giving up 1st and 2nd round draft picks this year, next year and the year after for an unknown is a franchise killer. Why not use the draft picks we have this year and the ones over the next couple of years to build the Raiders into a Super Bowl contender? Telesco and Pierce are making good moves right out of the chute. Watkins is a great move. I'm sad to see Josh Jacobs go, I loved the guy, but we already have a good replacement and we can pick up Austin Ekeler (I'm guessing). Don't sell Gardner Minshew short. He IS a proven NFL QB and was an alternate All-Pro last year. With the proper coach and team, Minshew could surprise a lot of people. He is a Raider-type QB. He's a better choice than Justin Fields and Minshew will be ready to go from Day One -- that's probably not the case with Jayden ... and we would have had to give up our future. I think you have totally misread this. You need a 2nd QB and I think the Raiders were more comfortable picking up an average vet and having him battle with AOC, than drafting a QB outside of the top 3, which they clearly will not be able to afford even if teams were willing to trade. AP and Telesco have said they really like AOC, that hasn't changed. However you still need competition. This is a good signing! You didnt break the bank for an average QB that can start or back up.

While Minshew doesn't excite me, it doesn't bother me. With Getsy we are going to be a running team anyway, so we don't need a slinger. Its only about 5m dollars over payment (2years at 20M is about right), so not huge over payment. We now have 2 back up/bridge QBs incase the draft goes horrible, which is fine. I think this signals that we are going to Draft a QB in Rnd 2 to develop for 1-2 years. its not great but its not terrible. I would go C- or D+. if it was 5m less i would deffo say C-... thsi move means we are not deseperate for a QB now, so no one can take advantage os us in the draft if we decide to trade up.

Gardner is one of the best back ups in the league. With what just happened last year with the the starting QBs getting injured was eye opening for the league. This tells me they are still pursuing a mobile qb and have planned for his back up if he gets injured

It’s a fine move I’m not sure why people are flipping out 💀 Kirk Cousins was the only top 25 QB available in free agency and the Falcons paid him $45M/yr lol I’m good off that. Minshew is a fringe QB1 and high end backup . Plan seems to be to trade up for a QB in draft, but it takes two teams to do a trade. It makes complete sense to have a contingency plan. Even if you’re a fan who prefers to take a QB in the late first/early second, it doesn’t make sense to go into the season with a rookie QB and AOC that have a combined experience of 1 year in the NFL. Minshew brings plenty of NFL experience to the QB room. Max value is $12.5M/yr but base value is $7.5M/yr, realistically Minshew will get closer to base value.
35tds and 18 ints is not that bad. We would've been better off with him last season, but I still hope we draft a qb. But with that said, if chat existed back then, they would've been saying the same thing about the Rich Gannon signing.
Why do you assume he is better than AOC? Why do you assume we are not a playoff team with AOC? We were close to making the playoffs without an actual OC last year. He may make huge strides with an actual OC this year.
Great move A. Minshew has had success every where he has played and he was in the pro bowl last year. LV will most likely draft a future QB in the draft. Minshew may not be a top 10 QB but he is capable, not very expensive and could be a starter if given a chance. Remember, Plunkett and Gannon were just backups until they came to the Raiders.
Not sure why Mitch is so heated about this and give it such a low grade. This is a solid pickup to bring in competition. Clearly this is not the starter.
I have no issues with this signing. I give it a B-. Minshew had one of his better years in Indy. I see this as insurance in case there is a problem moving up and getting the player they are targeting in the draft. and 25 for 2/yrs is not any kind of serious dough for a QB. I've been a raiders fan for over four decades and I remember when they brought in journeyman QB Rich Gannon who was a back up on the Chiefs and went "huh?". Then look what happened. I think he's a good fit and will be a great guy to have in the locker room. Who knows, maybe we trade up and get Daniels or trade back into round 1 and get Penix jr. Either way, Raiders are not over-spending on QB this year, and I like that. Keep building the trenches, draft a QB and a RB. Go Raiders!

Dude is a quality Back up QB that can win some games. He’s the damn starter. I give this a B grade cause if you try to get a 6’3 190lbs QB as your starter you definitely need a quality back up.

I've watched Minshew for his time at Washington State. I'm a huge fan of his attitude and the person he is.. Having saud that I NEVER WOULD OF GIVEN HIM $25 MILLION. He is a 3rd string backup and the Raiders have no room on the roster for him. Is this 100% rebuild again? Fire Getsy & Telesco today and or tear they'rebassholes out in front of the whole team . Come on, guys!! Gardner Minshew?? I thought we were interested in winning now!? And now we're talking about someone who couldn't cut it in Chicago coming here. It's NOT a good move guys!! You NEED a QB in this league ---- so far, we don't have one. I have to give this a D!!
Gardner is one of the best back ups in the league. With what just happened last year with the the starting QBs getting injured was eye opening for the league. This tells me they are still pursuing a mobile qb and have planned for his back up if he gets injured
It's so hard to be a Raiders fan, I'm 30 now and have been watching this team since 1999. This one kinda just makes me morally defeated. I had such high hopes. First AP lies about Jacob's coming back cause he's the heart of the squad . Now this, like I get it we can't trade up to a top 3 pick but like really?
Trust me dawg.. I've been dealing with the disappointment from this team longer than that.. it almost seems as if they have sabotagers within the franchise.. im telling you man it has to be something!!!
Minshew is a very good backup Quarterback. He's beat us twice in his career. Were going to draft a qb in the first or second round. Let AOC, Minshew, and the rookie compete for the starting gig.

It’s a fine move I’m not sure why people are flipping out 💀 Kirk Cousins was the only top 25 QB available in free agency and the Falcons paid him $45M/yr lol I’m good off that. Minshew is a fringe QB1 and high end backup . Plan seems to be to trade up for a QB in draft, but it takes two teams to do a trade. It makes complete sense to have a contingency plan. Even if you’re a fan who prefers to take a QB in the late first/early second, it doesn’t make sense to go into the season with a rookie QB and AOC that have a combined experience of 1 year in the NFL. Minshew brings plenty of NFL experience to the QB room. Max value is $12.5M/yr but base value is $7.5M/yr, realistically Minshew will get closer to base value.
Great signing if we are planning on getting Penix. Injury prone so we now have two solid backups
35tds and 18 ints is not that bad. We would've been better off with him last season, but I still hope we draft a qb. But with that said, if chat existed back then, they would've been saying the same thing about the Rich Gannon signing.

Why do you assume he is better than AOC? Why do you assume we are not a playoff team with AOC? We were close to making the playoffs without an actual OC last year. He may make huge strides with an actual OC this year.

Great move A. Minshew has had success every where he has played and he was in the pro bowl last year. LV will most likely draft a future QB in the draft. Minshew may not be a top 10 QB but he is capable, not very expensive and could be a starter if given a chance. Remember, Plunkett and Gannon were just backups until they came to the Raiders.

Not sure why Mitch is so heated about this and give it such a low grade. This is a solid pickup to bring in competition. Clearly this is not the starter.

I have no issues with this signing. I give it a B-. Minshew had one of his better years in Indy. I see this as insurance in case there is a problem moving up and getting the player they are targeting in the draft. and 25 for 2/yrs is not any kind of serious dough for a QB.
I've been a raiders fan for over four decades and I remember when they brought in journeyman QB Rich Gannon who was a back up on the Chiefs and went "huh?". Then look what happened.
I think he's a good fit and will be a great guy to have in the locker room. Who knows, maybe we trade up and get Daniels or trade back into round 1 and get Penix jr. Either way, Raiders are not over-spending on QB this year, and I like that.
Keep building the trenches, draft a QB and a RB. Go Raiders!

It’s only F’ing March. You’re on AP’s coattails and now you’re questioning moves. They interviewed Wilson and he chose Pittsburgh. Cousins is too expensive. So now we set up the backup QB need and a veteran presence. Need to calm down until all is settled and done.

He’s a top 3 back up. Allows either a rookie or AOC to develop. At the end of the day you can win games and figure out your QB situation.

Dude is a quality Back up QB that can win some games. He’s the damn starter. I give this a B grade cause if you try to get a 6’3 190lbs QB as your starter you definitely need a quality back up.

Can someone explain why we paid 12.5 million a year for a backup QB but let Jacobs walk? Jacobs got paid 12 mil a year but just 2 extra years. This is mind blowing 🤯 I’m not opposed to letting Jacobs walk but I’m against paying a backup QB more money.

I've watched Minshew for his time at Washington State. I'm a huge fan of his attitude and the person he is.. Having saud that I NEVER WOULD OF GIVEN HIM $25 MILLION. He is a 3rd string backup and the Raiders have no room on the roster for him. Is this 100% rebuild again? Fire Getsy & Telesco today and or tear they'rebassholes out in front of the whole team . Pierce is starting off Piss Poor here. Horrible move!
D is a ridiculous grade. Minshew is the best backup in the league and can start if needed. He’s an upgrade from AOC and makes us far less desperate which is good for trade leverage. It’s a very smart move and to not recognize that situationally is idiotic
