@@Brad55102 they all drive like buses. Our Odyssey can barely get out of its way and the transmission is starting to clunk into gear. Its a pos compared to our Sienna which lasted 200k before having major issues.
I find that Sienna buyers are purchasing it based on reputation and history, not test driving the Honda Odyssey. Build quality of the Toyota is said to be better than the Honda, but I bought the Odyssey for the superior transmission and suspension of the latest generation.
@@profribasmat217 haha not surprised. People just like what they see on paper. As much as people like to denigrate the value of reputation. There's a very good reason for it. You have zero idea as to how the car was built and what design philosophy was used. So we use reputation as a proxy too evaluate the car. Honda has been a hit or miss depending the model. No matter what you buy though, don't believe the lifetime transmission fluid claim. Do your own research.
You are good you know your cars, you did not fumble even once. I have tried all three different cars, but not the 2020's. I always go for reliability. And I found that in either Toyota or Honda. You will never go wrong with this two cars, suv, van or trucks.
Nice comparison. I liked that you compared the leather trim levels on all vehicles. One thing I think was left out was how different they drive. Sienna has a softer suspension and the Odyssey is stiffer and handles better. I have a 2015 Odyssey and have the same opinion when I purchased it new in that year. I would not consider buying a Chrysler so really down to Sienna and Odyssey for me. I chose the Odyssey because I was able to get a better deal at the time. Looking at these 2020 models, the Sienna has not evolved as much as the Odyssey has since 2015. I don’t I would consider the Sienna in 2020 due to its dated styling.
As soon as I partner with the dealerships and can drive the vehicles extensively, I will definitely add that into the equation. Your thinking is pretty much my exact thought process if I was in the market for a minivan!
The Odessey will never have a transmission as good as the Sienna , the auto transmissions is always the weakness with Honda , statistically it'll be 80-90 % as reliable as the Toyota
We had a 2015 Odyssey up until two weeks ago when it was totaled in an accident. Ironically, it was on the way to the dealership due to engine sound (belt maybe). It had 83K miles on it. We loved that van. Now we're looking for a new one~ looks like a 2021 Odyssey or Pacifica which oddly has beat Honda in many reviews we've read. Are you still loving your 2015 Odyssey?
Based on what, internet's word? I'm not much of an American brand fan (Fiat in this case) but Chrysler has been steadily improving every year on their equipment. We've had a 200 S that's at 249k miles and hit a deer and still running just fine. Keep your vehicles basic maintenance needs met and any modern car will last. New electronic gadgets seem to be the bane of all brands (looking at you Honda lane sensors and Mercedes swivel headlights)

2017 Pacifica Limited owner. 62000 kms no real reliability issues. Really bought because of stow and go and drive-ability vs others compared in this video back then. Also did like interior better at the time. Interested to see how the 2020 Honda drives now and what the 2021 Toyota will bring. Pacifica Hybrid definitely is something to consider but then the stowingo is such a nice feature to lose going to Hybrid.
Honestly, ur being extremely generous to the Sienna and Pacifica. The Odyssey should win this comparison by a landslide. The Sienna hasn't changed in 10 years and it drives like a bus. The Pacifica has major reliability issues and plummets in value the second you drive it off the lot. The Odyssey is the clear winner.
Also, the Odyssey has push button start, and can seat 8 with sliding 2nd row which both are more functional for larger families. It also has better upgrades in the higher packages with being able to speak and see passengers. It's clearly a step above the other two.
Our Sienna had 200k on it before any major problems. Our Honda Odyssey that replaced it has 111k and the transmission clunks into gear and the van itself is super slow, you have to nearly floor it to get onto the interstate. While the Honda has been reliable, I dont see it being as trouble free as the Sienna. We shall see. Id personally take the Sienna or even a Kia Sedona over the Odyssey.
Lou Cifer well, I don’t know I like both the honda and the pacifica but I kind of like more the side profile of the honda, and the tail lights are more cool on the honda with the LED lines
People complain about Odyssey reliability. My 2008 EXL went strong and i just traded in for 2018 Odd EXL. There were never any issue owning it for 12 years apart from regular maintenance. 2018 Ody cabin really feels upscale and nice to look at. I've come from a family of toyota's with my Dad owning Toyota previa since 1991. They both are nice cars and its just matter of preference
CEstrada650 Yeah while that’s true there are people that wasn’t a minivan for the tech, style, fuel economy, hybrid powertrain, and something different when it comes to a minivan not all Pacifica’s are unreliable dude my grandparents had traded their 2014 T&C Limited for the Pacifica Limited and no problems have shown Chrysler knows their minivans they pretty much have sorted things out
Honda's 9 speed transmission is a problem child and only the touring and elites got the more reliable 10 speed. Common issue along with those silly "Earth" turboed engines
Good review, but you really should add something about Pacifica Pug In Hybrid. It drives great, phenomenal gas mileage and a $7500 tax credit makes it very competitive on price.
IMO the side to side sliding seats in the odyssey are a major improvement over the stow and go if you have car seats in them. Not even a comparison when it comes to accessing rear row seats
Can anyone just show how do car seats fit in these minivans?! I have 2 rear facing and 2 forward facing, and no clue which of these would work best. That’s so much more important to me than 95% of the information they give in these reviews. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I have a 2018 Odyssey Touring. That model is pretty much the same as the 2020. If you take out the center seat in the second row you can slide both 2nd row captain's chairs to the center and you could put both rear facing there. That would leave space on both sides to reach to the back third row to get in the forward facing kiddos. Hope that helps!
I have a 2005 Sienna. There are two bad things about it. The first is that the cruise control is very finicky and often doesn't set. This was a problem on multiple Toyota models. The second bad thing (which was also common on multiple Toyota models) is the tendency of the dash to melt, crack, and get very sticky from the sun. Mine just started doing this about two years ago, just after Toyota quit replacing defective dashes for free.
I remember when I got in a accident with my isuzu axiom, so while I looked for a new car I rented a Chrysler Pacifica, probably the best minivan I have ever been in (well, at least better than the dodge caravan)

The one take away from doing the vehicle research is that you are going to pick a vehicle that you want or met all of your needs. I was able to get a 2020 Chrysler Touring L that have similar safety measures as Honda, have eight seaters as a Toyota, got 15 cup holders, and more than I can ask for. Just make sure you do your research. Safety ratings, crash ratings, talk to mechanics, test drives, etc.. etc.. Only thing you will hate is paying the price of the van.
Toyota/Lexus simply the BEST. Unfortunately, my person had a Honda Odyssey, its transmission blew up. NEVER HONDA. I love my 2013 Toyota AWD Limited Sienna. #TOYOTAFORLIFE!
For 2020, Chrysler is coming out with the Voyager minivan. Yes, they are resurrection the Voyager nameplate. It will be a cheaper version of the Pacifica
I like the Chrysler for the fold n floor seats !! what do you do with seats in other vans if your buying big box item ? ask the store to hold them while you run boxes home , come back for the seats !!!!? really Toyota , Honda fold in floor seats plz . 2021 ?
Kia is a great van. Toyota is great but I wish it’s interior was as nice as Honda’s. On the other hand I wish Honda sat taller and had siennas transmission. I wish Chrysler would just make a reliable vehicle. I wish Dodge would simply do a new redesign for the caravan with updated tech, suspension, AWD, up the price and destroy then all. Bottom line is that people will pay for quality... Chrysler has so much to prove as they have stabbed the consumer in the back for many years. Note: it’s not like they can’t build a great reliable car it’s that they just choose not too.
This was a solid review. We've owned 2 Kia Sedonas and loved them. But due to electrical problems on both, we went for an Odyssey Touring. That was totaled two weeks ago and now we're looking for another. It's 2021 so I'm hoping you have an updated review. It would be worth noting the AWD option for the Pacifica anyway. Nonetheless, I'm subscribing to your channel as it this was an impartial and fair rating. Thanks!
I have filmed three of the four 2021 vans, and hopefully I could produce the new video by the end of next week, or the following! I had a delay because of sub-zero temperatures in the midwest--thanks for subbing and I promise it's coming!
Except when you go Pacifica limited. No stow and go middle seats, wonky 9 speed transmission, recalled gasket issues, poor built in vacuum, and above all on newer models NO AC COMPRESSOR for the rear passengers so they must deal with subpar cooling
I think you talked to much about cup holders and you didn’t mention drivability at all. And I completely disagree with your opinion that the Pacifica looks better than the Odyssey. The Odyssey drives like a midsize car and has the best turning radius...much better than most cars and trucks. Also has been named the best in safety and resale value.
Mark S. This guy is an idiot. The Odyssey blows these other two away! I had to rent a Sienna XLE and Pacifica. Drive it a mile and there’s no comparison!
R J I was surprised to see in the latest Consumer Reports how poor the reliability of Honda has become. Very disappointing because I don’t like the look of the Toyota’s.
Chrysler & reliability are 2 words that haven't worked together since the 70's. For me I purchased the Honda on looks (for a minivan) and how it drives. Is the Toyota more reliable? Yes, but if I'm going to spend $35,000 it has to look somewhat aesthetically pleasing.
Not sure which one or if it’s both the Honda and Toyota models also come with paddle shift which to me would make the push button shifter on the Honda a mute point to make. Currently trying to find out which year paddle shift became introduced on these van models.
Well paddle shifters are different than the push-button shifter. The PBS is important to talk about because you are forced to use it to select a gear, whereas paddle shifters do not need to be used to operate the vehicle. They're only for fun/those that want to feel like they have more control over the trans.
allcarseveryday well that’s the whole reason to have paddle shift isn’t it. I def would want that. So far I only see it on the 2018 and newer Odyssey’s when they went with the 9- speed. Wonder if the Sienna SE has paddle shift too but I have yet to see it.
Based on what I've seen in new Sienna's, they don't offer them. Instead they have an area in the bottom left corner of the shift pattern that allows for 'manual' shifting the same way paddle shifters do, but you have to pull backward for a downshift and push forward for an upshift I believe.
That isn't the fabric it's actually the protective plastic they put on the wheel while the vehicle is in transport! So no need to worry about that in particular--it looked really hard to get off and that's why I think someone just gave up getting it off for the time being.
For those who only drive in America only pleSe allow others that drive here and out the countryside over bad terrain and hills to tell you the Honda Oddysey is the best along with the Toyota Sienna. The Honda with its extra features, looks and feel wins though.
Maybe I missed it, but did you even drive any of these vehicles? You need to drive it especially at night to see if you can find everything in the dark like light switches, exterior mirrors adjustments, emergency flashers etc. My 2003 Odyssey has several items that you have to feel in the dark for or turn the doom light on while you drive. My next car will have a test drive at night. You also need to compare the warranties.
You must not have the need to haul long items such as ladders or mattresses or you would have mentioned the lack of roof rails and crossbars on some of these vans. Roof rails used to standard equipment; mud flaps, too. Your video was, otherwise, a nice cursory review for those who are mostly people haulers. Edit - Forgot to add: Tow hitches aren't standard either. And for some makes an expensive install at the dealership.
Front camera is much needed for cruise missile extension and bad weather also the windshield wiper should be replaced by pressurized water spray and air blower and need no replacement wasted
Sienna SE best looking too in my opinion. Your subjective point scoring on that subject cost it the win. The Pacifica's awful reliability should kick it to a distant third.
Potentially, I usually shy away from trucks because the limits of my comparisons don't accurately capture what people are looking for in those vehicles. Maybe this year, though.
Did you had any issue with the steering wheel and alignment? I had bought one and next day I noticed I had to steer the steering wheel to the left in order for the van to go straight. I went back to the dealership and they took care of it but while going home I noticed the issue was still there even when it was fixed. They were super nice and changed the van for me, but that one had the same issue so the dealership contacted their partner dealership and asked them to drive one and it had the same issue as well. I ended up refunding the van.
Pacifica is a no brainer win for anyone over 6'2''. The amount of head room and space you get in it compared to the other two is night and day.

I couldn't wait to return that loaner to pick up my new minivan. That's my personal experience with Dodge Caravan. Now, I own a '73 Plymouth Cuda with a 340 4bbl engine and in my opinion, I think that it's the best looking vehicle ever built. Plus, my childhood friend's father still owns a Dodge dealership established in the 60s. Loved the '70's Power Wagons, too. Enjoy your Dodge and glad it's working out for you.

In 2030, more Sienna will be on the road than the other 2. That make Sienna the top mini van in value, reliable and resale $$$.

Unfortunately the Sienna only has a 4 star safety rating and drives like a bus. Until they update the Sienna the Odyssey will continue to dominate the minivan segment.
@@tonyq.4592 thats the smart decision.

Toyota uses Aisin transmissions , probably the best auto. trans on the market
@@profribasmat217 haha not surprised. People just like what they see on paper.
As much as people like to denigrate the value of reputation. There's a very good reason for it. You have zero idea as to how the car was built and what design philosophy was used. So we use reputation as a proxy too evaluate the car.
I bought a used Sienna and i didn't even consider other choices. Because our family values reliability first and Toyota had a history on delivering on that front.
For the long run and quality quality quality product Toyota wins for sure And most reliable is Toyota
Among the three minivan i'll go for sienna.. period.
No
Cool Kid your opinion does amount to nothing
You’ll be lucky if that Pacifica makes it past 100k
Based on what, internet's word? I'm not much of an American brand fan (Fiat in this case) but Chrysler has been steadily improving every year on their equipment. We've had a 200 S that's at 249k miles and hit a deer and still running just fine.
Keep your vehicles basic maintenance needs met and any modern car will last.
New electronic gadgets seem to be the bane of all brands (looking at you Honda lane sensors and Mercedes swivel headlights)
@@deadlyapollo New Chrapslers are just as bad as the old ones. Maintinance does make a car last longer but some have more problems than others, and Chryslers are among the worst.
@@andybub45 Ford and GM seem to be putting everyone to shame since 2012 with the most problems stemming from Focus, F150, and the Tahoe taking blue ribbon loser awards.
Sean Barry yep
@@deadlyapollo improving? I don't see old cars around, but you can see old toyota everywhere meaning they last longer, so don't even get pacifica if you wat reliability.
I like the shifter of the Sienna! I hate the Honda button shifter, the Chrysler shifter I can live with, but I like the bigger shifter
I agree with you re the sienna and honda shifters
Honestly, ur being extremely generous to the Sienna and Pacifica. The Odyssey should win this comparison by a landslide. The Sienna hasn't changed in 10 years and it drives like a bus. The Pacifica has major reliability issues and plummets in value the second you drive it off the lot. The Odyssey is the clear winner.
The Odyssey won the comparison. Strange to ask for more than that.
Also, the Odyssey has push button start, and can seat 8 with sliding 2nd row which both are more functional for larger families. It also has better upgrades in the higher packages with being able to speak and see passengers. It's clearly a step above the other two.
I would not suggest getting the Pacifica, mainly because of Chrysler's really bad reputation for their overall quality
2021 Honda Pilot has same issue.
Toyota Sienna is the BEST van !!!! Forget Honda and Pacifica....
Mark Lou facts why not. Not just your opinion
The Toyota is the ugliest the Pacifica by far the best looking inside and out
Lou Cifer well, I don’t know I like both the honda and the pacifica but I kind of like more the side profile of the honda, and the tail lights are more cool on the honda with the LED lines
Mark Lou exactly
3 Hondas three transmission problems
People complain about Odyssey reliability. My 2008 EXL went strong and i just traded in for 2018 Odd EXL. There were never any issue owning it for 12 years apart from regular maintenance. 2018 Ody cabin really feels upscale and nice to look at. I've come from a family of toyota's with my Dad owning Toyota previa since 1991. They both are nice cars and its just matter of preference
Honda and Toyota are best with their reliability lol
Their chassis are NOT tough built.

@@deadlyapollo the 9 speed transmissions some odysseys use are made by ZF. The 10 speeds however are honda's own design.
That’s what I am saying. Mini vans are usually for families so why not bring in family props !? (Ergo - car seats)
Why does Honda still use Halogen headlights? Most cars now come with LED headlights
Chrysler Pacifica all the way
I like the Honda odeyssey😍🥰😘🚘🇯🇵
Thanks for the video made my purchase easy
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m buying an Odyssey Elite with Package A!
Good choice!
I remember when I got in a accident with my isuzu axiom, so while I looked for a new car I rented a Chrysler Pacifica, probably the best minivan I have ever been in (well, at least better than the dodge caravan)

C&d is a joke
The Odyssey has my heart, cause it got me everywhere in my childhood up until highschool. You can bet that imma nab a Honda after uni

@7:03, is the Chrysler Pacifica steering wheel paint peeling off or it is a protective plastic covering?
Just a protective plastic covering! I could scrape it off with my thumbnail.

For 2020, Chrysler is coming out with the Voyager minivan. Yes, they are resurrection the Voyager nameplate. It will be a cheaper version of the Pacifica

Tech or no tech, i can fn live without, Toyota sienna is my choice for life.
I like your review, but you also need to calculate something that takes car seat anchors into consideration
Yes, I am working on getting a child car seat so I can review the anchors and the movement of the seat (if there is any) with seat installed. Thanks!
Thanks!

Loved my Odyssey for 4 years until the transmission started doing funky things. I traded it this year for a new Sienna. Reliability is king

@@jeffpacetti5800 That's the mistake that we made. :'( I drove honda civic around 2002. I was satisfied. I bought odyssey 2018. It is terrifying.

Honda is best 👍
The Sienna doesn't have independent rear suspension. Important if you want the best handling capabilities.
Why would anyone look for better handling in a minivan?
Add AIR LIFT bladders in rear Sienna springs, progressive, adjustable ride, works like pneumatic sway bar
Bad for winter lol
@@CIASPY > snow ski every year for five years, no issues
At 7:04 notice the paint already flaking off the steering wheel....
Consider Kia Sedona, its great value for money.
And very good looking.

What we need is the Vellfire, not these minivan.
Too funny! I hate the look of the Pacifica...loved the Sienna SE and bought one.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Wow, I find the Pacifica to look better than the other two. But to each their own.
The Sienna is just to ugly for me. With the Thanos looking grill.

I got none of that safety sensors in my 2010 Toyota, still alive, the driver is the key of safety, The car can’t prevent u from driving like nuts
The Kia Sedona is being renewed for 2021, are you gonna do an updated review?
Yes! Actually, all four of those minivans are new for 2021, so it will be the most competitive van comparison in years!
What’s up with the Nissan Quest?
Not sold in America anymore!
Sienna SE best looking too in my opinion. Your subjective point scoring on that subject cost it the win. The Pacifica's awful reliability should kick it to a distant third.
What’s the advantage of all wheel drive than front wheel???
Allan Balbuena All-wheel-drive helps out in bad weather like snow or rain!
While Honda sedans are reliable, their minivan is not reliable. Honda is not good at making bigger engines and it may have transmission problems

Can you do a comparison between the 2020 Tundra, F-150, Silverado, etc? I don't much of Tundra in your vids :(
Potentially, I usually shy away from trucks because the limits of my comparisons don't accurately capture what people are looking for in those vehicles. Maybe this year, though.
We have a Chrysler van. It has 225 thousand miles on it. Love how it is so dependable.
odesey over sienna, it is more up to date and just a little bit nicer BUT…. the no AWD kills 💀
2021 Pacifica was refreshed and 2021 odyssey is going to be refreshed but the 2021 sienna is going to be a major redesign
