The Toyota will last forever and will need minimal work done, is boring to drive but comfortable, with average road noise. So: Pacifica is the best to rent, the Odyssey the best to borrow, and the Toyota the best to own.

Chrysler Pacifica is the best minivan to get now! Offers 4wd, powerful big V6 engine with plenty of muscle if you go with the gasoline, traditional transmission setup with the S Package added to the Touring L like my Dad got! Ours is fully loaded even has a built in vacuum cleaner which is something great to have on hand for quick detailing! Our second pick would have been the Kia Carnival but the Chrysler is best far as looks and performance, it's like driving a Sportscar instead of what it is being a minivan.
Sorry my v6 Sienna has killer speed and great reliability. I also have 300,000 and no transmission or motor issues. Though I do all regular maintenance and oil changes 5-6,000 miles.
you must absolutely add to the odyssey: awd. pano-roof. 360-cam. timing chain. (no timing belt get rid of it. but non-turbo. turbo v4 is not good option. v6 naturally aspirated plus plugin with extra large battery) slow-traffic follow feature. built-in vacuum cleaner must be returned to the car. light-off-roading pack option. (with high clearance and some other light-off-roading features) also needed a additional extra front and other lights females have trouble to see at night (in comparison to men this is biology thing) and vans are driven by many females.
My 2005 sienna still drives almost as smooth as the day I brought it. I just completed a 13 day 13 state 6k miles cross country trip in a 19 Year old 167k mile minivan. Also my 2005 sienna is still quieter than my friend’s 2023 odyssey. So the choice is clear for me.

Sienna average price at least $10k more than odyssey. Unless you go for LE or XLE. I would say big NO to Sienna $10k is enough to offset 10years gas cost and potential battery replacement cost is nightmare.
From what I remember reading on forums, I gather that nation-wide the price difference is more like $6K - but still, the Odyssey is much cheaper than the Sienna. An interesting question to ask perhaps is, "Why is the Odyssey cheaper"? With the average price of a new vehicle being $48K these days .... And the most important money question is the total cost of ownership rather than the sale price. Gas savings are one thing, and also there are maintenance and repairs costs, and the resale value. One last thing: Ni-MH battery replacement costs in Toyota hybrids are not a nightmare; first, these batteries are much smaller, second, they typically last for 250K miles without much deterioration, and the warranty covers them for 150K miles/10 years (unlike the lithium batteries in EV's). The ability to load 4X8 sheet goods flat is a big thing. I have almost new winter tires on wheels that fit the Ridgeline so FWD is fine for all but the worst days in Vermont and New Hampshire where I live. Honda it is. For those mentioning the Kia...I also have PTSD from owning a Hyundai (if you don't think they're the same cars, you're uninformed) that was great for 3 years and then nothing but problems until we got rid of it - 3 sets of pads and rotors, 3 sets of struts in under 75K miles. After owning a newer Honda, their audio tech is busch league compared to others. Honda's A/C cost me 2K after 40K miles. The Non Hybrid Pacifica would have been a better head to head.
It will take you 8 years to make up for the higher base price of the Sienna and the dealer markups most dealers are still charging. No thanks, I'd rather have a much more powerful V6 with 10-speed transmission than an overpriced economy car. The comparable Sienna to the Odyssey sport is about $12k more expensive where I live so it's just not a good option for me.
In this test, there were only two options. The Chrysler comes with Chrysler build "quality" and Chrysler "durability." Meaning, it is not worth considering, regardless of features.
I have a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country with well over 200k. It's needed minimal work over the years. I've also driven a new Pacifica eHybrid and that thing is awesome.
@newlintodd while I am very happy that you've had good luck with it, you are an anomaly. For most of these vehicles, it would be on its fourth transmission by now and possibly its second or third engine. That is of course assuming someone decided to keep it on the road for 200,000 me as these failures continued to occur. I've known way too many people who were burned by Chrysler products, people who take good care of their cars by the way. I don't have any trust in the quality or reliability of their products.
I had odyssey 2023 got totaled which used to give 16-20 mileage in the city, hated and TERRIBLE. Then I got Sienna as replacement, wow I never have to worry about gas, a good replacement.
The Odysey's tank is also 1.5 gal larger than the Sienna. People are so obsessed with range and don't care about how much gas and/or electricity is takes to get that far lol.
Best for Family Features: Honda Odyssey - It excels with its versatile interior and family-friendly features. Best for Fuel Efficiency and AWD: Toyota Sienna - The hybrid powertrain and standard all-wheel drive make it a strong choice for fuel-conscious and climate-conscious buyers. Best for Innovative Features and Cargo Space: Chrysler Pacifica - It stands out with unique features like the Stow 'n Go seating and a plug-in hybrid option.

Honda has kept me happy for 5 years. But I wish it could get 35 mpg and have reclining seats for those long vacation drives twice a year. It doesn't need all that engine power it presently has. Less power, more mpg, please.
The reclining seats are not to be used while driving. If you get in an accident, let’s just say it won’t go well. I believe the manual says something about that
@@andyk4972 True. Not any more. Up until 2020 they had V6 option. If you can find a well-maintained used Sienna with V6, it’s worth a look. We just bought a 2012 Sienna Limited, V6 & AWD. 120 K miles, so reasonable price, especially as dealer installed a new set of tires, changed fluids, filters and rear brakes. 3 K miles in, so far, so good. 2GR-FE is a peppy engine, and it's proving to be a great grocery getter, DD and road trip vehicle.
I'm surprised they didn't wait to make this video until they could get their hands on a 2025 Odyssey, which sees a number of upgrades in its refresh, including the infotainment screen and number of USB ports in the vehicle. And why is the Carnival not part of this comparison? Don't give me any of that, "It's an MPV, not a minivan" nonsense.
My parents 1960 Chevrolet Kingswood station wagon seated 9, the rear seat faced the back, and both the middle and back seats folded flat. Plus the 283 CI engine made good power.
These three vans are dinosaurs. They need to leave the minivan market completely the 2025 Kia carnival absolutely blows all three of these vans completely out of the water.
Sienna is the best reliability wise. Odyssey is the most practical. Pacifica has the best electronics. Shame the pacifica might not even make it to 100k miles. Wish the Sienna wasnt hybird so it could last 300k miles. Odysseys will last between 150k and 200k miles. Its the Transmissions and AC Systems that fail on em. Honda doesnt make their own AC systems.
The Sienna could very well last 300k miles. Hybrids are Toyota’s bread and butter at this point. Will it get to 300k as worry free as the old V6? No, but I would still trust it better than Honda since they choose to have VCM.
Get the sienna with 3.5 v6 awd not the hybrid if you are keeping the Van for a long time….hybrid batteries doesnt last very long and very expensive to replace……

@@thatcarguy1UZ My sister has a 2014 Town and Country that is nearing 200,000 and is still running great. I drove it myself last week.
1 minute into the video,I find the presenter appealing, 2 minutes into the video the odessy takes the title.
Pacifica is still the only one who can fold the 2nd-row seats flat? What I like about minivan are the values and space.
What's a DVD player😮😅
I would pick the Odyssey just because I would prefer performance over efficiency. Otherwise probably the Toyota.
I want to have a mini van! Twin sons on the way! Wonder if my wife and I could get freaky together at a soccer game! Ted Lasso
I had odyssey 2023 got totaled which used to give 16-20 mileage in the city, hated and TERRIBLE. Then I got Sienna as replacement, wow I never have to worry about gas, a good replacement.
I'll take the Pontiac Transport, the one in the middle.
Odyssey is the only one to buy
The Odysey's tank is also 1.5 gal larger than the Sienna. People are so obsessed with range and don't care about how much gas and/or electricity is takes to get that far lol.
And honestly, who can go a full tank of gas without stopping for a bio-break?
Great explanation, thank you!
She is really good
thanks
Best for Family Features: Honda Odyssey - It excels with its versatile interior and family-friendly features.
Best for Fuel Efficiency and AWD: Toyota Sienna - The hybrid powertrain and standard all-wheel drive make it a strong choice for fuel-conscious and climate-conscious buyers.
Best for Innovative Features and Cargo Space: Chrysler Pacifica - It stands out with unique features like the Stow 'n Go seating and a plug-in hybrid option.
Some other TH-camr said Honda has announced and and a hybrid for 2026.
announced awd not and and I hate spell checkers.
Honda hands down. CVTs are terrible
Toyota, coz it's most reliable and hassle-free option. I also love hybrids. And for me hybrid = toyota.
Ofc, if you need more powerful engine, sienna is not for you. I don't need
With 22 mpg in the Honda I will keep my old Minivan . 200 miles extra range between Sienna and Odyssey is not worth the Honda's fancy seat gymnastics.
Very useful information and very well presented! thanks!
Sienna for sure
the problem with hybrids is on top of regular maintenence, you have to do for battery. my 2019 odyseey is missing a ton of quriks. well done honda
There’s not really extra “maintenance” for a hybrid until it gets 10-20 years old. Then you’ll have to start thinking about the battery life.
Gas prices are insane so despite all the features, I will still choose the most efficient one.
I’ll actually do the Honda Odyssey😊
Pacifica for better looking and feel good from inside.. Its sad they aren't as reliable as Honda/Toyota 😢
I believe the manual says something about that
Sienna with the V6 and AWD.
Sienna doesn’t have a V6 option
Nice Family Wagons Which They Replaced. But The Price Is Astronomical!
This video is one big argument for the Kia Carnival
My parents 1960 Chevrolet Kingswood station wagon seated 9, the rear seat faced the back, and both the middle and back seats folded flat. Plus the 283 CI engine made good power.
This is a fail. Where is the Kia Carnival. Only 4 minivans in this category, and you have 3.
These three vans are dinosaurs. They need to leave the minivan market completely the 2025 Kia carnival absolutely blows all three of these vans completely out of the water.
Guaranteed the Odyssey is faster lmao 😂 🤷🏽
Kia’s aren’t reliable.
Kia makes great designed products. The biggest negative is reliability!
Not in terms of reliability.
@@AlexanderY18Consumer Reports begs to differ
Pacifica has non hybrid all wheel drive with stow and go sests
What year ranges for each please
Odyssey has already been updated HAHA 2 day ago
I just watched The car mom review recently and this video is remarkably similar to everything she said 😬
Combining elegance and luxury kislux
Get the sienna with 3.5 v6 awd not the hybrid if you are keeping the Van for a long time….hybrid batteries doesnt last very long and very expensive to replace……
Refurbished batteries are 1500, brand new batteries are 4500. Not that bad.
Sienna’s are hybrid only since 2021. No more V6 in Toyota Sienna since ‘21 or Highlander since ‘23.
@@robertguynn7289 i know… you can still buy v6 sienna 2nd hand…
2010 Prius driver here. 244,000 miles on the original battery. Nuff said
Welp, this video was a waste for me. I was hoping to see the Chrysler Pacifica's Stow and Go seats, THAT model of the Pacifica compared to the other two.
AWD and hybrid won the sienna for us. Plus it's Toyota so I can keep it for 20 years
Longer after you replace the hybrid battery
Reliability????
China has the best Minivans. Imagine if the 100k Buick Century was sold here.
How come you folks left out the Kia Carnival?
They probably didn't send them one or pay to be included. Carnival FTW! Love mine.
Pacifica blows it away !@@colear3
Sienna isn't really for sale in 2024, Pacifica has a nicer interior & better fuel economy than the Odyssey + has USB-C. I know 2 people with Odysseys that needed serious work at the 5-7 year mark, reliability isn't a big winner for Honda these days.
But they need to make option for AWD and Hybrid.
The Pacifica’s reliability is trash so Toyota sienna and Honda odyssey is best.
