The best scene in the show. So powerful, such a great monologue from an amazing actor. Jaime has always been a tragic hero judged for the wrong things. I feel like Ned just spited him because he was a Lannister. I wish the original soundtrack was only though not this added music even if it's beautiful.

Well that and Ned was hailed as the most honorable and it was a lie. He lied about John and he lied about his great victory in a duel to save his sister. Jamie is shit on for his most heroic moment and Ned is loved for his least. They mention Ned being honorable as much as they call Jamie a kingslayer.

The coolest motivation for a character ever, pissed away by crappy hbo writers

My favorite character, until they destroyed him in the last couple of seasons. So cleverly written by George RR Martin, I hope he gives his character arc a more worthy ending in the final books.

4 years later i know. But if Jaime didn't care about the innocents, he would never have hunted down every single remaining apprentice pyromancer after Robert took the thrown. Jaime literally spent weeks killing them all off.

@@stoifan91yep, he does care about the innocent people being slaughtered, but doesn’t care about the feelings people have towards him, especially when they already think they know who he is as “Kingslayer”. He won’t bother clearing his name for his honor is to himself.

Now finally after 4 years of completing game of thrones, i understand this great great scene and a super art of acting. When he says, "BY WHAT RIGHT DOES THE WOLF JUDGE THE LION"

It is an amazing metaphor how can ned stark who fights for honor and justice judge jaime who did the same thing just under different circumstances how does the wolf who protects and kills for his pack (the house of stark) judge the lion (the house of lannister) for doing the same

One of the reasons why this is the best season in the show is because it is verbatim, almost word for word the exact same dialogue as how the scene plays out in the book. Even the setting and staging is the same. Funny how the show just started to suck constantly when the writers got full of themselves and decided to take the characters in “new” directions

I think of all the one scenes that really change a character and the story narrative. This i think showed that Jamie did save the capital of the realm and possibly an act that saved the most people short of those who planned to stop the white walkers and the lich king. He at a very young age, strayed from his duty and oath to do what was right for those that could not protect themselves. If that isn't the mark of a lord or moreover a king, i don't know what is.
